  • Decent bones for a greenhouse.
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 18.5 x 9.2 ft
I'm using this as a frame for a greenhouse as it's significantly larger than anything else here listed as a greenhouse for the same, or lower quality and price. So far, it works just fine for that purpose. I put it up in about an hour and a half with minimal headache. The included instructions are decent enough, and the parts are marked fairly well. Though I recommend looking everything over carefully before proceeding with the build because I missed a few things on the first few steps and had to backtrack. That' really wasn't a big deal, it's a totally modular setup so even setup wrong, it was still right if that makes sense? NO TOOLS are required to assemble the entire thing, it all snaps together. That is aside from the door, which does require a small, included wrench. It's a LITTLE wobbly, but I haven't anchored it down yet, nor have I added any additional bracing. Both things I plan to do to make it a viable greenhouse. Honestly, IDK if I'd trust it to keep large dogs or other predators away from chickens as advertised though. My dog is an American Pitbull Terrier, about 65 pounds and I doubt it'd keep even her out for very long if she really wanted to get in. Mine is also, like I said currently unanchored and on unleveled ground. If you bolted this to a plywood base or something, It should be more than enough then. No comment yet on the included chicken wire roll or UV cover.. That's all just going in storage until I find a use for it. Seems like pretty standard chicken wire though. I'm sure it's fine. Had this included steaks to anchor it, I'd have given it 5-stars, but it doesn't and I had to get them from Depot. So only 4-stars. For a free-standing, snapped together structure. It's not bad at all. I was sort of impressed really. It DOES include anchoring points in the feet, so that's nice. One less thing to have to make / do. Also, this is NOT the same diameter poles as a standard chain-link fence would have, just so everyone knows and isn't confused. They're about half as wide in their OD, but still fairly thick. Again, I was pleasantly surprised here. I was expecting something much thinner and cheaper TL;DR: Decent greenhouse frame that should have some additional anchoring and support. Don't know that I'd trust it to keep hungry predators away from chickens. ... show more

  • Good quality.
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 18.5 x 9.2 ft
My husband and I put this together in one evening. I had the frame complete except for the door. I needed his strength to put the hinges on. It took both of us to add the wire but it was done in no time at all. I'm glad I made this purchase. It could easily hold 15 full size chickens. We currently have 3 but plan on getting chicks in the spring. We reinforced the bottom with extra wire due to predators. Also, I took extra wire to cover the door opening since it has about a 2" gap all around and used bungee cords to hold it in place. Not hard to do at all. My chickens are really enjoying their new run. One other thing, I purchased a large tarp to cover the whole top of it so if we get bad weather, the chickens will still have a dry run. I would highly recommend getting this run if you're like us and don't get into building stuff out of wood. ... show more

  • It's not as big as it looks in the photos. I used it as an aviary and had to close off the door.
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 9.2 x 6.2 ft
I joined this 9.5' x 6.5' chicken enclosure with an aviary that was built from wood and wire mesh. It was joined from the back so I had extra chicken wire. Then I laid down a cement outer parameter which I hope will hold it down under strong winds as we do get them here from time to time. "The poles offer a good frame for mist-ers and for hanging perches or toys. I doubled the chicken wire on the top and used 1/4" wire mesh for the walls. I shut off entry of the door as there is a lot of space around the door that I filled with wire. I'm hoping it will keep all my budgies, cockatiels, parrotts and other birds in while keeping out squirrels, opossums, raccoons, skunks but I'm concerned about rats. It added like another room to the wood and wire built aviary and was very complimentary to that structure. Easy to build for someone experienced with building things from kits. NOTE: After 1 year, the tarp completely deteriorated; after 2 yrs, the mesh was in tatters. All due to full sun exposue. Otherwise the frame and construction is very sound. I lined all of it with 1/4" hardware cloth then put chicken wire over the entire structure to hopefully deter rats and mice. Mice got in anyway and are colonizing within the structure. To drive them out, I put scented cotton balls, soaked in peppermint oil and citronella oil. I'll get some corn oil and linseed oil and soak more cotton balls. My parrots have a very weak sense of smell so it's ok for them. Hope it works. We will see. But don't depend on the material coverings. Poor quality and they don't last very long. As is, the pipe material is will made and strong and it lasts forever. I'm also covering it with clear polycarbonate sheeting and plastic sheeting underneath. This allows sunlight and also has UVB protection. Am in the process now and making a gable roof to keep the rain out. Otherwise the rain puddles in the middle. Lots of planning going into this but the pipe structure is sound and workable with 45" metal tubes on angle and 72" long metal tubes on horizontal. Very workable. You'll have to do something about the door though. Large spacing between the door frame and door which allows rats free access. ... show more

  • Well worth it!
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 18.5 x 9.2 ft
The package came damaged (boxes), and UPS left in the rain, but all the parts and components were there and undamaged. Frame assembly went easy. Attaching the wire mess was slow, but acceptable. Plenty of wire to overlap as appropriate. Some reviews noted the wire wasn't sturdy, we don't share the same concern, and are very happy with our set-up vs. the cost. The shade tarp does what is supposed to do, and it will collect water, but it is acceptable if you monitor twice a day like we do, and push out the water that may collect. It is limited to how much it can sag by how much you commit to tying the wires to the frame (tedious, but worth it). Overall, very happy and glad we purchased this product. We recommend it! ... show more

  • Ordering Giantex products? May the odds be ever in you favor...
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 18.5 x 9.2 ft
If you do decide to buy from Giantex may the odds be ever in your favor. Since this is a six part saga I've included a TLDR summary at the bottom. After many emails back and forth, Giantex has had three separate chances (4 if you count the initial shipment) to make this right and has still failed to send enough parts to complete the run. Each time it was quite clear what needed to be sent with pictures and instruction manual part number references. They usually quoted back to me what I requested but just kept failing to send the whole batch of missing parts. - PART ONE: Mid-late July we order the large three section Run. It arrives and we assemble it to find only enough parts to assemble two out of three sections. You expect all the parts to be there but mistakes happen, nbd yet, my chickens will just be cramped for a while. So I message them asking for the remaining parts. - PART TWO: "Sorry for the inconvenience We need to contact with the factory to resend the partF2 pcs, and partH 4 pcs for you, which take about 30-35 business days, can you wait for it Or whetehr you can try to match them for soon usage with $58 refund as compensation? Which solution you want? Have a nice day Sia " Well the english is a little funky but I can't fault anyone for that because we all know English is jacked language, but, alas, they only sent two parts instead of the requested six total. Even though they quoted what was needed. - PART THREE, "Hi Thank you for the message and understanding. We will arrange the shipment of the three part H and one part F asap and provide tracking number as soon as it's available. Any other questions, please contact us timely. Have a nice day! April " Sounds like they are on it this time right? Wrong! Only a portion of the parts showed up again. - PART FOUR: " Thanks fory our reply. We are sorry we do not have extra part now. How about we refund you $50 for compensation and you fix in your local? Or if you have any other idea, please let us know. Best regards! Eleva " To start I ordered the large three section run because I need the large size. Second $50 dollars is a joke, you sent me two/thirds of a product the refund should be at least one/third the cost ($159.99 USD to be exact). As to the "fix in your local" statement I'm really struggling not to channel some Gordon Ramsay ("Are you ___ kidding me?!?!) in the response and keep it polite. I'm handy, have a good many tools but still the specific tools needed to fabricate those parts would cost way more than $50, and building a new run the size I need from scratch out of reclaimed materials like I did my last one would still cost more than $50. The whole reason I bought this run when I moved was to save me time, but even with the easy assembly It has now cost me more time than a custom built run would have. Frankly they should be offering a full refund if they cannot come up with the last two parts to finish assembly. For the rest of you thinking about buying this, if they can't send me the last two brackets to assemble this thing how much confidence can you have that your order won't be shortchanged parts like mine was? - PART FIVE, the latest communication: After telling them $50 was a joke and requesting a full refund or the final parts they instead offered a 50% refund. Again if they can cash out $200+ easier than they can get two post brackets how much confidence can you have in your kits not being shortchanged parts too. At least they tried on the customer service side and are responsive. Since I have enough of a refund to mostly fund building my own run at the size I need and since the product would be mostly ok if it were complete I'm bumping this review to a what I feel is an overly generous 3 stars for this saga. I think that may be my lowest review to date. TLDR: Giantex has failed to send the missing parts multiple times and is now stating they can't get the parts and wanted to offer a $50 refund even though they only gave me the parts to complete 2/3rds of a nearly $500 product. This is a joke and a rip off. After requesting the last two parts or a full refund they offered a 50% refund, at least that will mostly fund building the run I need. So since portion of the product was ok and their customer service at least seems to try I've bumped this up to a generous 3 stars. ... show more

  • Great value, nice run, plus for the pvc coated chicken wire Great value, nice run, plus for the pvc coated chicken wire
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 12.5 x 9.2 ft
We bought this specific run because it came with the coated pvc which seems more predator proof. We live in a very high raccoon area so we went extra steps to raccoon proof this run. We bought extra pvc coated chicken wire (same as what came with this) to put on the ground, and wrapped it up the walls to secure. There was also about a 2” gap where the door closes, so even though a raccoon probably couldn’t fit through it, to be safe we secured thin wood strips to narrow the gap. This run is great, we’re very happy with the quality and value. I know I’ll feel safe with my chickens in it. ... show more

  • Not Upset W The Quality, Easy To Put Together
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 9.2 x 6.2 ft
I was a little worried after i got my first 2 boxes of materials once i started to put things together. Realizing i was missing a lot of pieces i emailed the company and they assured me the rest of the materials were on the way. Putting the coop together it felt flimsy at first which also had me somewhat worried, but once everything was set up (chicken wire and all) the coop actually feels pretty sturdy. Most of the framing is snap in, except for the doors. And you can screw the bottoms into a base for added support. All in all a good buy. ... show more

  • For the price, this is great!
Pattern Name: Flat Size: 18.5 x 9.2 ft
We had just moved into our new place and needed to put up a chicken run fast to protect our 26 chickens we brought with us. It was easy to put together and we had more than enough chicken wire to finish the job. Great protection from flying predators! With that said, I would not trust it to protect them from predators at night like coyotes, raccoons and things because the chicken wire that comes with this is a nice, but very thin plastic coated wire. We mounted the back of this pen to our chicken coop and cut out a section for them to go in at night then we locked them in. The first night, a predator dug under and knocked over the chicken feeder and scattered it about. I did not see it but presume it was a opossum. The next day we put a heavier wire around the bottom and flared it out about 2 ft. to prevent further digging into the pen. This we had done at the previous pen and knew we would have to do it to this one also so this really is not this pens fault. Any pen you buy, you need to do this. I would even go so far and say to make it really safe, you need to put up an electric fence around it to deter any predators as we plan to in the very near future as we learned the hard way at our last place. My only two complaints are the door latch and the top design of the pen. The door latch is stiff and because it sticks out, it will rip right through your skin if you are not careful as I learned very quickly with my first walk through! Because the top is flat across at the top instead of V-shaped, despite how tight we pulled the wire and the tarp, when it rains, water collects on top and bows the tarp and wire down. We had to poke holes in it so water would drain which I am sure, weakens the integrity of the tarp ... show more
