  • Great product.
Pattern Name: Flat Roof Size: 9.2' L x 18.4' W x 6.4' H
This is exactly what we wanted. Inexpensive but sturdy. I wish I selected the “A” frame, the first heavy rain pooled in the tarp and bent the top of the frame. It’s still functional but we removed the tarp and have to find another solution. Went together easily with minimal tools. Yes, I’d buy it again. After we took this picture we reinforced the bottom with hardware cloth (fencing) it’s quite secure now. ... show more

  • Minor mods, for durability.
Pattern Name: Flat Roof Size: 9.2' L x 18.4' W x 6.4' H
My wife ordered this thing - I assembled it, and I'm reviewing it. Just call me 'Honey". Overall, this chicken coop isn't hard to put together, but it leaves something to be desired for sturdiness. I purchased some 20 foot treated 2x4, and screwed the whole thing to the 2x4 instead of using ground anchors into the ground. You'll need 2 20', and 2 10' 2x4 minimum, along with a couple short 2x4 scabs at the corners to make it decently sturdy. THEN, I rolled out some 4 ft chicken wire on the ground, and set the chicken coop on top of the wire. Try to center it up, 2' inside, and 2' outside the coop. Go inside, snip the wire in the corners to fold it UP, and tie it to the chicken coop wire. Dogs, cats, or whatever will have a hard time digging under the edges of the coop. I'll throw mulch on top of the exposed wire later, to cover it up. I still need to cut the wire for the ends, but the coop is pretty solid, sturdy, and pretty much varmint proof, at 90 or 95% finished. Need to get a couple photos, so people can see what I've actually done. (Please excuse the mess - this bit of ground has been neglected for a long time!) Additionally, the wire I've folded up, inside, will contribute to keeping the tiny peeps inside with their mama. (Anyone who has raised poultry has seen the peeps running through the fencing!) This is one of those jobs, you make all your mistakes on the first one - and carry what you learned forward to the next project. I will suggest that anyone purchasing one of these should get the spire, or the round roof. It rained last night, and the tarp holds water on the flat roof. I shall over come that little problem by putting a 2x4 between the center of the tarp, and the top poles. Overall - this is a pretty good chicken house. I can't give it 5 stars, but it's close. I must mention that I've read all the previous reviews. It seems obvious that this is not the same chicken house that was originally sold a couple years ago. The wire isn't "heavy", but it's strong enough to stop my dog, the cats, and most other predators. It isn't going to stop a mountain lion or a bear, maybe not even a bobcat, but anything smaller will probably be stopped. The 'upgrades' the manufacturer has documented have paid off. I can't really tell you how long it should take to assemble this coop. One reviewer said 4 hours, another said 6 or 8. I'll be honest - I'm aging, and my health isn't super, I've potted around with it for 3 days, and I'll finish it up tomorrow. I'm pretty sure that a healthy handy-man can knock this out in less than a day, even with my mods. ... show more

  • Great for the price
Pattern Name: Spire Roof Size: 157.2"L x 117.6"W x 76.8"H
Cannot beat this for the price! Easy to assemble but keep in mind it’s just chicken wire so if you are in an area with predators you will want to beef it up! Works amazing an can’t complain for the cost!

  • Revised comment due to excellent customer service, but read for design change info
Pattern Name: Spire Roof Size: 157.2"L x 117.6"W x 76.8"H
EDIT: The seller and I have been in communication and they had to redesign to make shipping and manufacturing more efficient, which is understandable. I have upgraded my first rating to a 5-star based upon the excellent communication with the seller. Revised comment: I purchased this exact item (same company, same product, I hit the "order again" button on Amazon) a year or two ago. There are several major changes between the two models that are worth discussing. 1. Hinge design change. Hinges on the original model were fine. However, on the new ones when you tighten them on one side there is no strain release to prevent the side with the pin from also tightening, which then prevents the door from freely rotating. I hammered in an old nail to act as a strain release during tightening and that worked like a charm. (photo included) 2. Poles. I don't feel they are as tight fit on the new model, but the seller said they didn't change the poles themselves, so maybe I'm remembering the old installation incorrectly (it has been a year or two since I assembled the last one). I will say the poles do have significant wobble and it's not a bad idea to use a level to make them square and shove something in the joint space to tighten them up prior to installing chicken wire. I was hoping the chicken wire would tighten and square things up for me but it didn't, so learn from me and do it ahead of time. 3. Door assembly changed. In my photograph, the old model is on the left, the new model is on the right. The new model comes with an extra horizontal beam you're supposed to put above the door. I fought with it for a while until I realized it wasn't even on the old model. You can temporarily install it to hold the door frame in place, but when you go to install the door take it off if it's giving you problems, it's not necessary. Also, the new door uses clamps on all four corners. Last door had curved corners which was better (sturdier, easier to assemble, not crooked). When assembled my door was cockeye. I had to stand on the bottom and gently bend the top until everything was square. An addition that is not a critique of the product: the chicken wire will hold birds in but will not protect them from predators. You will have to install heavier fencing at least along the walls and sink the bottom of the fence about six inches into the soil. This helps keeps predators out but also the chickens in, as they like to scratch along the bottom of the coop and they will excavate holes over time. All in all it's a good chicken run for the money and my birds like it. Just be aware that if you have the older model and you're looking for symmetry that the door is different now. ... show more

Pattern Name: Dome Roof Size: 10’ W x 13’ L x 6.5’ H
It’s not very good made from Aluminum doesn’t really hold up well in High winds or Snow. I rated 3 stars because I bought it for my dad for Christmas and he’s satisfied with it

  • Great coop
Pattern Name: Spire Roof Size: 157.2"L x 117.6"W x 76.8"H
The media could not be loaded. I bought it to use as a large dog run and it did great, but if you live in a windy state please buy stronger stakes because our first snow store the wind took the coop and flung it across the street. I would buy this again though. It was super easy to put together, pretty large and steady (until our strong winds came) ... show more

  • Great product and great value
Pattern Name: Spire Roof Size: 157.2"L x 117.6"W x 76.8"H
We bought this to provide our chickens shelter from the rain, wind and snow during the winter months. We reinforced it and enclosed the sides half way up to keep the wind and snow out. We have tarps over the roof but in the spring we'll add clear plastic roofing panels. You must reinforce this lightweight frame if you're dealing with snow. My husband snapped it together quite easily and all the parts were included. Nothing was missing. We're happy with this purchase and our chickens seem very content moving about inside keeping out of the wind and snow. ... show more
