I don’t always have time to leave reviews, but I saw some negative ones and I have to jump in and say that this run has been exactly what we needed for our small backyard flock. My husband is kind of passionate about his green lawn, so it’s been an issue to give up any space permanently for our hens. We have a coop on wheels, but when we decided we couldn’t free range the chickens in our backyard all day, we found this run. It has enough doors that we can park the coop and pick up this run every couple of days. The weeds are getting eaten, ground is “fertilized,” and the grass is still healthy. I watched the video of set up on this page, so I knew it would be somewhat involved, but absolutely everything we needed was in the box, and even a couple of fun extras, like the swing and snack bag. We were able to follow the directions and figure out how some of the rolled up chicken wire was precut, so we needed to attach that in the right order before cutting anything. There were lots of extra zip ties, so everything is well attached. We made it over a couple of evenings - assembling the frame one night and attaching the wire the next night. We are able to move it often with no issues and the chickens enjoy having the room to spread out more during the day while they are safe from flying predators. We didn’t want anything really big, so the size was perfect and the price was great - way cheaper than other things we considered. Glad we found it. ... show more

    • Not Enough Wire
This was not easy to put together as I thought it would be and then on top of that the wire was too short to reach the end so I had to purchase more wire! Not cool! The frame is sturdy and the doors are great, but ended up having to go with one door. A bit frustrating.

The media could not be loaded. Smaller than I expected! It is good for 4-5 chickens . It takes some time to assemble quality is ok . Price is expensive for the size and all the work ( asembly)it takes about 2 hrs to set up . It comes with enough bolds, screws and wire netting. Instructions are easy to follow. ... show more

    • Wonderful! So worth the money!
We just finished putting this together today. Yes, assembly is tedious, BUT this is BY FAR the best additional run, chicken tractor, or chick "field day" pen that we have gotten - and we've gotten around 7! The chicken wire is actually pretty nice. It's smaller, different than what you get in the store, but it's sturdy! There are lots of zip ties, and we were most impressed that the wire came PRE-CUT except for doors. Absolutely blown away. All together, it is pretty darn sturdy. The doors open and close easily, and the latch is a godsend when you're moving chickens in and out, as I can bump it closed with my elbow or back of my hand. Keep in mind, CHICKEN WIRE IS NOT PREDATOR PROOF. We have a Livestock Guardian Dog that guards our chickens and keeps the predators out. If you plan on using this full time, please add hardware cloth and a skirt. The only trouble we had was properly fitting some of the screw dowels equally into both connections during assembly. I did not like anything about this product, it uses very cheap and flemsy materials. It is way too small, I returned it. I would not purchase it again.

    • Great for making separations
I keep a flock with my dad and this run is perfect to helping make better use of their large roaming area. They have a main run attached to the coop with the big food and water spots and then a big fenced off yard to range in as well. This smaller run is a great addition to the overall setup to help separate birds due to age and integration, culling, or broodiness. General setup is as most things with building, better with an extra set of hands, but not challenging or out the ordinary. ... show more

    • Decent frame, Terrible chicken wire
The chicken wire is too thin and very dangerous and sharp at the tips. Would not let my kids around it nor would I want my birds around it for safety issues. I replaces the chicken wire with 1/4inch Hardware cloth that is stronger, coated in black, and safer around kids and pets. An extra $60 expense. ... show more
