ok so i read the reviews on this product and was very hesitant to try it... i rarely write reviews but this is truly amazing. the perfect black and so shiny! several of the negative reviews said this damaged their hair and they felt like they lost hair after using. i did not have that experience at all, my hair feels super soft. the conditioner is awesome. i also read that this irritated and stained the scalp badly. i did not have any irritation, it did stain my scalp a little but nothing crazy. my biggest concern was the reviews i read that said it left their scalp like an orange color, because that happened to me with the superior preference line. i have natural ashy blonde hair and my roots can be tricky. this covered my roots completely and it covered my grey. i will have to agree with some of the other reviews about it taking FOREVER to rinse. however my hair is very long (past waist). the water was still not completely clear after almost 40 minutes of rinsing. that doesn't really bother me too much, i would just suggest using an old towel you don't mind staining. overall i am very pleased and will be using this for now on. hope this helps! ... show more

I love this color: Black Leather. I'm 61, and everyone tried to talk me out of dying my gray hair black. But I'm a winter and I thought it would look good. People now say I look 10-15 years younger than before! It's so easy to apply and stains on your skin usually come off in the shower. It has that multi-faceted natural look which I think is the #1 reason you should use Feria. Plus, I have used many others and they run and are just a pain to apply. This one's the winner! i have used this box dye for almost 4 years and i've never been disappointed. i've tried nearly the whole spectrum. the colors are rich and accurate to the portrayal on the box. the formula is not too harsh on the hair and a good deep condition should get rid of any strawlike strands you do end up with. it is a little runny so be sure to protect any surfaces the dye could get on. as for the blondes, (especially the platinum ones) you need to make sure your hair is PRE LIGHTENED to one of the shades on the side of the box before using. yes, it's a long and kind of annoying process but trying to lift dark hair to platinum blonde in one go is futile and will damage the hair. to ensure that you don't get "hot roots" (virgin hair that lightens quicker and easier - making your hair color patchy overall ) start from the bottom and work your way up. i've seen a few reviewers complain about this so i though i would offer some explanation for those who did not know! anyways, i love this stuff. if you're thinking about buying some just go for it :') ... show more
