This product does work well in reflecting the heat towards one direction. I ran into 2 small issues that you should be aware of that I would think that the maker can rectify: (1) the shield consists of several panels so that it can fold up. The panels are each held together by pins. Gravity makes the pins fall out when you hang the unit on the heater. So I put a small drop of solder on the top of the pins (like a pinhead) to keep them from falling out. Easy fix for the manufacturer is to have the pins either be slightly bent at the top or have a pinhead on them to keep them from falling through; (2) the shield reflected the heat so well that it quickly melted the plastic on/off knob on my brand new heater. So the instructions should emphasize that the on/off knob should be turned exactly opposite of the location of the shield, so in other words the knob is pointing away from the shield, so that the heating unit is between the shield and the knob, not towards it or even on the side of the direction of the heat.

At half the price as some other shields, this is worth it. The picture is misleading. It is short (9.5"), but it covers the heating screen. I also want to note that the shield does not get hot. I got this for my covered patio and the heater was near a window where the glass would get hot. I was afraid that the glass might crack from the temperature swings. This effectively blocks the heat and the glass does not warm up.

The product is as described but when assembled and installed doesn’t stay. The hinges are not fixed and slip away at the lightest movement or wind. I’d return it and not buy anything similar

Works well, but not high quality. The first night, all the pins that hold the pieces together fell on the floor, as did all the sections. I repaired with a pair of needle nose pliers, but frustrating. I recommend others pay more for a higher-end product.

Have long had a patio heater, but always lamented the fact that, when sitting outside alone, I was losing a lot of efficiency, warming the area away from where I was sitting. It seems like this reflector whould be longer to work, but the radiant heat from the patio heater is directed very efficiently with this short, clip-on reflective skirt. It is long enough to get the job done, but not so long as to create a sail effect in the wind. I liked my first one so much, I purchased a second one for my other heater.

I don’t know what it could do any better. Easy to install, durable, folds up when you don’t need it. If I put your hand behind it, I can’t feel any heat. Works exactly how I expected.

Works BUT, attach the shield on the opposite side of the control knob and only use on low. I didn’t realize this and melted the black control knob.
