Description

Aura is a Bluetooth-enabled smart lock with one-touch locking and a motorized deadbolt. Within Bluetooth range of the lock, you can use the Kwikset app to control the lock, manage lock settings, and assign user codes. With your personalized code, you can enter your home with the convenience of keyless entry. Aura is easy to install and operates on 4 AA batteries. This single cylinder deadbolt can be locked or unlocked by using the keypad or key from the outside as well as the turn button from the inside. The crisp, clean appearance of the Satin Nickel finish adds to the overall look of the product and brings a modern feel.

I had entertained buying one of these for some time. I have a wife that constantly checks to see if the dorr is locked. I have been locked out of my own house just getting the mail she asked me to check. also i have decided to walk to the store to find i had no keys and my wife had left to run errands and the door was locked. My wife and i vacation often, and this has its challenges too. I have to leave a key with someone so that my mail and other things are attended to, plants, petrs, and my aquarium. occasionally my son may stay while we are gone to look after our place and of course have a break too. The need for this tpe of lock started sounding very interesting to me. There are several features that i liked, one i can rekey the lock for my existing key that i used for the old lock. two i can assign a passcode for individuals, so i can be notified of each time a person accesses the house. three i can open the lock with my phone via bluetooth with the app. I also like that at anytime you can lock out the keypad. Through the app you can assign codes or change/delete them. Here are yuor options once the lock has been installed, you can use the key, or the app, or input your keypad code. you can never be locked out. I even have a "guest" code for times that i may let someone in to get something i dont want to leave outside, or let someone check something in the house. One thing i wanted you to know is that this is just as easy as installing a regular lock, the instructions are very well written, there is also video that will definately help the visual learners. I bought this as a back up lock for the backdoor of a rental. The primary lock links up to airbnb and sends an entry code during their stay. This is just in case the other lock fails. It works great. My cleaners, handyman and landscaper use this lock. It works great and it is super easy!

I loved the additional care and thoughtfulness put into the instructions. Everything was labeled! So there was no guessing as to which part you were looking at based on pictures in the manual. This made it easy to go through the steps without faltering. I have no experience installing locks so this took me longer than the average handyman would. If you are a handyman or at good at putting things together then you’ll be fine and finish much quicker than me. I especially loved that no additional holes needed to be drilled. I previously bought a similar Bluetooth entry lock from an overseas manufacturer and the instructions were lacking and there was no mention of needing to drill an extra hole in the product description. This is a much better product. Kwikset seems to know what they’re doing in regards to user experience. If I had to gripe about something, it would be that they used extra paper manuals and a compliance info card separately when they could have just put it all in one manual. That’s not even an issue really. Just wanted to mention a possible negative lol. Now I have to wait to see how this product handles wear and tear over time. ... show more

Installed this in our new house, on a side door. Bluetooth feature works great, simplifies adding user codes or removing them. I prefer the Bluetooth feature and would rather not have a lock to my house connected to the internet for security reasons. I’ll likely switch out the one on our front door at some point. I’ve used these in our rental properties for years minus the Bluetooth feature. It’s nice to have the option of using a key or the keypad, etc the app that comes with it works great as well! ... show more

Lock itself is nice and was straight forward to install. Took 15+ minutes and a couple of restarts of the app to complete the setup, app kept dropping the Bluetooth connectivity, thought it was my phone, but heard my friend had the same issue.

This lock works as it should. Installation was a bit tricky as the previous lock didn't line up exactly as this one needed. Yes, as some of the other reviews say, the lock does make noise as it locks and unlocks but personally I like this feature as I can hear it doing it's job. 👍
