I received this pump the day after ordering it. It arrived well packed and had everything I needed, save for a waterbed drainage kit I already had on hand. The instructions are sparse, but there was really nothing else to say regarding how the pump worked. I used a little olive oil to lubricate the pump, following the directions and then hooked up everything to a metal discharge hose 50 feet long. The kit comes with a six foot hose to connect to the water source and it all went together smoothly. I plugged the pump into a power strip with a switch, since the pump has no built in switch. The pump primed perfectly and water flowed out easily. For the waterbed drainage, I had to keep the line well positioned with boxes placed to keep the line vertical and to adjust the waterbed bladder as the water drained. The noise level people complain about is negligible, and it helps to hear changes in the water flowing through the pump as it is doing it's thing. It took about an hour and the entire bed was drained with no problem. Five stars for fast shipment, packing, easy to read instructions, and performance. I will be using this in the future for other tasks and am thankful to have a simple and easy to use pump on hand. ... show more

I have a 29ft rv and needed something to pump the antifreeze through the entire water system and this pump worked GREAT. Anybody needing to winterize their rv this is a must have. Some have said it is very noisy...not sure what they expect, but, I found it to be fine. Not any louder than you would think for a small pump. ... show more

This pump works only 3 times; about 45 minutes each time. I had to returned and they promess to send me a replacement free of charge; but I still waiting. 3 weeks now . I guess I will buy another option because I need the item and I can't wait so long just because es free. High pitch noisy. No on off switch which is a huge issue. Very inconvenient to have to plug unit in and out to turn on and off. When stuff's not exactly in place there's a chance you're going to lose fluid due to absence of on off switch and from the transfer rate. Three stars because transfer rate is fast and accurately described. Recommendation, find a unit that has heat guard around motor to protect human flesh from burning and then have a an off switch. This thing is built to last for sure, It’s made out of old school cast iron. You will not find this quality at Home Depot or Lowe’s even at a higher price point, they just don’t offer anything with this much versatility. Very handy!
