Maybe I've been spoiled by the $3+ roll of THICK yellow teflon at Lowes, because this white stuff that was included with the kit was super thin and each fitting that I used it on leaked. The teflon started to bead water at the overlaps. I've worked with tape like this for decades, so it wasn't an installation issue. In any case, the supplied gauge reads 10PSI when at atmosphere, so there's that. But, since it's at the floor, and I have several other more-accurate gauges at eye-level, I'm not going to ding the listing for that. The pressure switch is set to 50/30. It would appear this is identical to the 60/40, with the only difference being how much tension has been applied to the set bolt (#1) at the factory. Thus, if you order the 50/30 but really need the 60/40 (that was the case with me, but the 60/40 had a longer lead-time), then fear not... you can easily turn the set nut counter-clockwise about 10 turns to drive the set points up to 60/40. Just make sure you adjust the pre-charge on your tank to match the new cut-in pressure (38psi when empty of water). The union coupling is really stellar. Hand tight, and no leaks. Well, being 72 and new to fixing my own well: this bundle of quality components all in one purchase was a blessing! The T-stem’s design is unique in that there is a built-in connection where the T is located. This allows the installer to make adjustments once all the system in put together: pressure tank, gauges and pressure switch can be installed before hand then added to the other part of the stem already attached to the pressure tank. One last praise. My well’s 12 year old PVC fittings are slightly brittle. I can’t force anything to “fit” so being able to move the pressure tank to line up with the manifold after I’m lying down and praying that I get ‘er done before dark was heaven inspired! My plumber was able to use all the parts included but we decided to put the old switch back on since the one in the kit did not have a lever on the side to prime the pump if needed after an extended power outage.

    • Very slight leak to pressure valve - Watch length of stem for 40 gallon tanks

Product went together simply. Make sure to use plenty of tape and tighten tighten tighten, and then fear over tightening of brass. 3 leaks at initial install. At stem at tank, installers fault, two more 360s and tape. Faucet and pressure valve both leaking - 360 on them with tape, fixed....see comment on pressure valve (1 drop every 3 hours from relief valve - 55 psi system ... show more
