I love this SSD. I've purchased a few over the past few months and every single drive has brought life back to some old Macs and made new desktops better. Kingston is a computer component brand that has been around for a long time. Now this isn't the best drive, but for the money, you'd be hard pressed to find a better drive. I recently got two of the 120GB for an old iMac and a new Dell AIO 3000 Series desktop. Since most of the work being down on both is going to be cloud based I opted for the smaller size drive. First, let me start with the Dell that I got from that wholesale place. It was a good deal on the AIO but after opening it up. I saw a 5400RPM laptop drive. It was slow. Put this Kingston in and boot ups are almost immediate and Windows 10 runs like a dream. The iMac well, that's getting close to 10 years old, but upgraded it to 4 GB of RAM and this Kingston and was able to put CloudReady Chromium on it. Runs absolutely smooth and with the price of the RAM was only a $40 upgrade. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Kingston and these SSDs are great. I have a few extra laying around just in case I need a quick repair or want to upgrade something later on. They aren't the fastest or best SSD on the market, but they price their product accordingly and deliver awesome performance. ... show more

    • Gave a 13 year old laptop a whole new life.
I used this SSD to upgrade an old Dell Latitude 6420. Loaded it up with Windows 10 and the computer runs fantastic. Fast boot and load times. I have 3 more 13 year old laptops that I will be using this SSD with.

always a fan of Kingston. this drive is a great value for the money. Just be sure get the SSD utility from the Kingston website so you can update the firmware on it.

    • Worked well for my application
I bought this SSD to cheaply upgrade a Dell Precision m4300 laptop switching from Windows to Linux Mint. I had first purchased a Crucial drive which had been recommended on a couple Linux forums. Having some difficulty with the install I contacted Crucial support who said they did not formally support their drives for Linux applications. So rather than fuss with it further I returned it and purchased this Kingston unit. Whether it is more compatible or I had simply learned from my previous errors I do not know. But the system software install was painless and the SSD works perfectly. Very perceptible increase in boot speed and read speeds, quiet, and I imagine my battery life is a bit better too. Be aware, there is no disk copying/cloning software (Crucial does offer this). Also the drive did not come with a spacer. It is 7mm and I had a 9mm space to fill in my older laptop. So I had to improvise with some self adhesive Velcro tape I had around the house. That took a point off of my rating. ... show more

    • Massive performance increase!
Been using two SATA HDDs (standard hard disc drives) in this computer for a while. Decided to upgrade since $20 a drive is a really good deal. So I bought two of these Hyundai drives. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MY05J6W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Neither one would initialize, format, or otherwise even work. So disappointed. So I returned them (easy and simple return, thanks Amazon. Refund was back in my bank before the drives I ordered at the same time arrived two days later) I gave these Kingstons a chance. Not only was the replacement quick and easy, migration went fast as well. Bought two of these. Installed one, used MiniTool Partition Wizard to migrate entire Windows OS drive C to it, and it was done in minutes. Powered down, removed old HDD, booted to new SSD. Noticeably faster! Everything was there and working fine, including website cookies and passwords. Browsed, ran a few apps, did a couple of things, and was impressed. Installed second SSD, copied my D drive to it using same software, and powered down. Removed old drive D HDD and booted. Everything was there, including games I had installed on D. Time for the real test. Cities:Skylines is a real monster. Loading my saved 1,000,000 citizen city took 32 minutes and a few seconds. Now, it takes 4 minutes and a few seconds. WOW! Not only did it load incredibly faster, once it was loaded there was very little lag scrolling across the map at first, which was soon entirely gone. I can move across entire map after a few seconds and there is NO lag. Everything shows up instantly and clicking info windows is instant instead of two or three seconds delay. Cars, trains, planes all move smoothly. Shutdown used to take three minutes, almost four. Now it takes less than one. These drives made my system perform like new!
