Product comes well packaged and they have a nice, smoothly finished appearance. They almost look too nice to use as firewood/starters! The supplied mini starters I found to be largely inadequate because they burnt very quickly without igniting the sticks. So I simply used a handful of dry twigs and leaves to ignite the sticks, which I then used to start larger logs in our fire pit. So that’s one way to use them. But they’re really designed for smaller applications such as table top fire pits, stoves, camp fires. As advertised, they burn very cleanly with low smoke, if that’s what you want.

I’ve been very pleased with this kiln dried firewood set. The bundles are very flammable and the sticks are perfectly shaped to be able to stack them together like a jenga set. My six year was able to start a fire with one match with this combo. Also doesn’t give off a foul odor which is a huge plus. Would definitely order again.

I admit it: it’s weird to buy something from Amazon with the express purpose of burning it. I guess it’s no different than buying food though…one-time-use fuel that gets burned by the body? I have a pre-Mesa Solostove fire pit that is small enough to use on a tabletop. Besides little pieces of kindling, twigs and leaves it’s hard to find wood the right size that isn’t hanging out the top of the rim or that burns to nothing in ten seconds . I haven’t yet used these but I’ve opened the box and inspected them. Just as shown there are mini logs and fire starters. They are bone dry and look like they’ll burn bright and beautifully without smoke. This is also an awesome kit to use for camping. The firewood bundles one buys at campsites rarely come with sufficient kindling or any fire starter. Now I just need to wait for the crisp fall weather to kick in so I can start burning!

We were looking for some emergency cooking wood for a camp stove that could be stored easily, and this boxed set perfectly matched what we needed. It comes with about fifty small blocks of well cut, kiln dried fir wood along with some fire starters made from curled shavings. It all smells wonderful when you open the box. The wood is very clean and well dried. There are plenty of pieces to use with a camping stove to prepare several meals. If you want to build a bigger fire, this set would also work very well as kindling. Everything stores away conveniently in the included box, so it will be ready whenever we need it. At about the size of a couple of loaves of bread, it is easy to carry in the trunk of the car too. Glad to have this on hand in case of emergencies. Quality product.

Did a quick stack of 4, two log base and two log across the top, threw a fire starter underneath and when I was finally able to get my lighter going the starter ignited within seconds of exposure to the flame. I was weary of the need of the sticks at first, but they are great for the next level or constant burn after the fire starter is done so you can then add some thicker logs to get it going. Only thing I might buy again is the fire starter part, I have enough scrap wood around to use for the next level.

The media could not be loaded. I love starting fires in my Solo stove, but sometimes (depending on wind/humidity, etc.) I struggle with getting that first log started up. Now that it is full on bonfire season, I am really happy I got these fire starting bundles and blocks. It took the tiniest little spark (I only used my electric lighter) to get the little bundle going, and I used a couple of the pine blocks as well. Not sure what the pine shaving bundle is soaked in, but it goes on and on for quite some time and does not snuff out. This gives the kindling around it time to really catch a good hot flame, and next thing you know your bigger logs are going. I had a nice bright fire going in no time, and this is always a win when I only have a couple hours to enjoy a fire after work. Again I am not 100% sure what fuel is used in the little bundles, but it burned very clean and odorless, so I was not concerned with anything harmful in the product. Looking forward to a much easier time starting fires quickly this fall and winter!

The obvious advantage to this box of mini pieces of pine firewood is convenience. You open the box, take out a few pieces of the kiln-dried pine and one of the included wax and shavings firestarters and in minutes you can fire up a solo stove, a tabletop firepit, a barbecue grill, a campfire, and many other things, with one match. The mini firewood is kiln-dried pine in 5-inch lengths. I will use them for my tabletop fire pit, my Solo stove, my full-sized firepit on my deck (as kindling to start the fire), and for starting campfires when camping. Yes, they are a bit pricy, but it's a quality product and, as I said, it's all about convenience. While my neighbor is busy cutting up wood for firestarting and kindling I will already be enjoying a cigar and a cocktail in front of a cozy fire.
