Now this is the vacuum that my heavily carpeted house needs! I wouldn't say it's lightweight, but the suction is excellent, and it seems very well-built. It's a powerhouse that is built for deep cleaning; it leaves my carpet properly fluffed. It isn't very versatile in terms of going under furniture or doing detail work, and the hose is a bit short for the attachments. I'll keep my old Shark Navigator to use as a supplement for corners, under furniture and the upholstery. But I'm very happy to have this and it's much stronger than my Shark Navigator. It is heavy and might not be great for people with limited mobility or multiple floors (though, I have 4 levels in my house and can manage to take it up and down, but it is a workout). I was nervous about getting a used vacuum, but this is practically new, very clean and in great shape. I think it was labeled 'Used-Very Good'. If you have a smaller space or a lot of furniture it may not be right for you but if you have a lot of carpet or dust, I highly recommend it. ... show more

Better than the ones my Mom and Grandma used in the 1950's-1960's! I still prefer an upright, and 19 pounds is not too heavy. The elite model is 7 pounds heavier and about $100 more than this model from Amazon. The open box very good-like new ones are a good value. Mine came repackaged, but all the parts were there and brand new condition. No issues so far...my last two Kenmore's lasted about 10 years each. Still made from newly updated Panasonic designs by Kenmore in China. ... show more

It's a great vacuum and we got it at a good price. We wanted something heavy duty for our carpets and wanted a bagged model so our research led us here. Pros - It does do a great job of cleaning carpets and hardwood floors although it's not that good for corners or edges until you use the special attachments which are a bit of a chore to set up and tear down. - We have been using it for months and a single bag has lasted us this far. Seems durable. - Does a good job of picking up human and cat hair everywhere which was our main goal. Cons - The pipe is really too small and gets to you. - Its quite heavy so maneuverability isn't great. We get tired after doing our 2 bed apartment so can imagine it'll be worse for a larger house. Can't imagine carrying this up the stairs. - People mentioned it not being loud and that's just not true. It scares our poor cat every time. But that's a trade-off we made for a clean house ... show more

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! It is the poorest quality appliance I have ever had the misfortune to own. It worked okay, until it was time to change the bag. Once the bag was in, the bag cover wouldn’t shut, no matter what I tried. My husband and daughter tried, too. None of us could get it back on. You know why? Because this thing is a worthless hunk of plastic. I called customer service, and a very nice lady told me I’d need a new cover. She sent one to me, and it arrived the following week. However, it did not come with the latch attached that is required to attach it to the vacuum. If the cover isn’t attached, there is no seal, no vacuum, and no suction. Yes, I tried taping it on with duct tape. Didn’t work. I called customer service again, and a not so nice lady said she’s send me the latch. I waited for it for weeks. Once it finally arrived—without instructions on how to attach it to the cover—it took quite a while to figure out how to get it onto the cover. Somehow, I managed it. Guess what? The new cover wouldn’t fit either. I called customer service AGAIN, and I was told they would replace the vacuum cleaner. I just had to “fill out a form.” Well, going thru all the required steps to complete the form took a couple of weeks. I finally got it done and emailed it. Then, I was told to change the attachments to PDFs, so that caused another delay. Today, I received an email denying my claim. Mind you, I had to cut the cord off and take a photo in order to submit the form. So, now I have a completely worthless appliance that I used only a handful of times before it broke, and the shady company strung me along until the warranty expired, all for the bargain price of a couple hundred dollars. I have bought a new vacuum cleaner about once every ten years since my early twenties, and they have all worked beautifully. Until now. I will tell everyone I know not to buy this travesty of an appliance. ... show more

Okay, so I just received it today and tried it out. Seems like a powerhouse. A bit heavy for a senior like me but I was aware of the weight when I bought it. My last vacuum only weighed 11 pounds so I am adjusting to it, no stairs by the way. I LOVE the fact that you can adjust the height which is a MUST really on carpeting making it easier to manage. It smelled so clean while I was vacuuming. Noise level is very acceptable really. The attachment hose could be longer but I like that the tools are onboard. I have found that the suction is much better than with some portables so it will be good for some areas. The power cord is nice and long but is quite stiff especially when securing it back up. One screw to attach the handle and you are done! Super easy to replace the bags as well. Great value for the money. OH, and the power switch let's you switch from carpet to floors with the flip of the switch. Many good features, really, I love them all! Tiny nit pik, the plug was not 3-pronged which would have held it in more securely in my old outlets. ... show more
