Kenmore DS4065 perfect for small Apartment/Dorm rooms. I recently moved to a small apartment: Small bathroom, large closet, medium living room with a large standard area rug that is not “fluffy” if you will, just flat. I needed something easy to use. I have a small black cat who mildly sheds. The new place is dusty. I am on the bottom floor of a big, old house. Dust comes up from the vents. I did a lot of research on smaller cordless vacuum cleaners. I am very happy I purchased this. It is perfect and I hope for you as well if you have a small apartment/dorm room. I’m 5 foot 5. Unboxing was easy. The assembly was easy. The instructions were easy to read. I charged the unit. Later that night I used it for the first time. This product is very lightweight, maneuverable; the swivel is very good on this one, small enough to fit in some smaller spaces. The front cleaning head is about 10-12 inches wide, 2 inches thick (think Swiffer length left to right, if not a bit shorter). I used the product first on low power mode and that worked great for the first time. Very impressed. The second time I used it on higher power. Wow! Even better! I have the pics to show you what the results are for about a 10 minute cleaning. The unity is pretty quiet. The bin that collects is in a great spot. The unit does this hurricane action in the receptacle which, when turned off shows the dirt, fur, etc in a ball. (See pics) I really recommend this product for small places. I can’t write about large rugs or large places in general, just my small thin area rug that my cat lays on all the time and my small place. I mentioned my height. This unit is perfect for me. Holding it when cleaning, the handle is between my stomach and chest. Pros: Pretty much everything. Small, light, eac.sy to dump contents, easy to clean. Stackable. Quiet. Cons: I don’t have any so far. I will update at a later date if something goes wrong, etc

I am the wife and often purchase through my husband’s prime account so he can see how much my therapy is costing him. This post will be long so I can explain why this purchase is my best therapy yet. Now to the vacuum. I love it. I’ll admit I have a problem with collecting vacuums, but only because I keep searching for “the one”. I think with this Kenmore cordless vacuum, I have finally found the one to warm my cold bitter heart. First of all, I am a mom to a toddler who does not let me do anything unless I have him attached to the hip. In the past 3 years my vacuum collection has added to my inventory: a huge heavy ship-vac, a medium sized with hose, 2 small bisells (because one was not strong enough), a handheld with uv light for my mattress and couch, a small cordless handheld, a robot vac that also mops, a small car vacuum with car plug, and now this beautiful cordless. For the first time in 3 years I did not have to ask myself whether I want to enjoy an ice cream or clean my home while the kid naps. I did both! One hand vacuuming and one helping myself with a chocolate ice cream and thus feeding my brain my much needed dopamine while giving it the satisfaction of cleaning! It is not too loud so I was able to clean the whole place without waking up the baby (including the room where he napped). I love that I can just grab it whenever toddler makes a mess, no cord for him to trip on while he runs around me during vacuuming. I have carpel tunnel so my hand did feel like it was a little heavy but not enough to stop for a break (even though I was snacking while I vacuumed so not needed anyways!). One of my favorite things is that my husband likes to sweep messes and leave them in small piles on random corners of the house, not anymore! This vacuum is now his and my best friend, as he can just grab and go. Love it. I have not owned it too long but have already been using it on a daily basis. Suction is great too! Sometimes I run across a big piece of food or paper that will not fit because of size and it stays on the front of the vacuum. I use this on my hard-floor and carpeted bedroom. I also love that I can use different lengths and tips. I no longer need an additional duster for windows, corners, or ceiling fans! With this cordless vacuum I have effectively replaced my entire vacuum collection, AND dusters! I clean my entire home, PLUS car, plus it’s great for cleaning my toddler’s car seat, it is the cleanest I’ve seen it in a couple years! Get it, you won’t regret it.

So far so good! Ive had it for about a month and it works pretty well. Biggest flaw is battery life. Only works for about 45 minutes. I have to vacuum in 2 shifts. Also, battery is not removable making charging, for me, kind of a pain.

I bought this vacuum cleaner and the warranty through the company Amazon uses when you check out (prompts to purchase the coverage when you check out). The vacuum seemed to work at first. The battery life is definitely on the shorter side. It would run out pretty quickly on the high powered mode. One month into owning it, the suction stopped completely. It comes apart in a couple areas so I was able to look straight through the stick part, the canister, the filter, etc. There wasn't anything clogged anywhere. It just stopped picking up everything. Here's where it got ridiculous. I called the warranty company. They say they don't anything in the first year because there's a manufacturer warranty. So beware this plan doesn't help you AT ALL for at least one year. So they gave me Sears number. They said they manufactured it. So I call them and get a complete run around. They eventually say there's no techs in my area and to take it anywhere to be fixed. I asked if it would be covered under the manufacturer warranty and they hung up. I called back and was told the same thing and that there wasn't anything they would do to help. I asked for a supervisor to see if they could help further and the rep laughed and said they were in a meeting for 2 hours so I would be on hold a long time. I couldn't believe the lack of help. I searched on Sears website and found another 800 number to call for warranty issues. Called them and got an website to submit information for a claim. On that website there was another number to call if there's no techs in your area. I called them. They went through a long process and the representative told me there was a clog and I needed to find it. I told her I already looked clear though all parts and nothing was there. She hung up on me. I called back. Got another rep who emailed me a warranty claim form. This company was not Kenmore, Sears, or anything related to the warranty company I purchased. It was some unknown company and I was unsure if they were even the correct people I needed help from. They told me to cut the cord and send a picture of it. I didn't want to take a chance with a company that didn't manufactor or sell Kenmore products and get the warranty voided. I called Amazon and explained everything and they accepted the return and gave me a refund. Beware of the headache you will have trying to get this thing repaired. No one wanted to help. Amazon is amazing but Kenmore doesn't stand behind their product and the warranty you buy from the 3rd party on Amazon is worthless. Call Sears or Kenmore and try to see about getting your vacuum fixed under the warranty. The model number is in the Amazon title for the listing. You will see how impossible it is. Call the warranty company that Amazon uses as the 3rd party. Tell them you just bought it a month ago and they will tell you no coverage on it until the first year. You will see you will be suck with a broken item with no help, even with warranties covering it from 2 separate companies. It's a joke.

Bought this 2 weeks ago to replace a Roneair Stick Vacuum that I recently purchased here on Amazon. Wanted to love the Roneair because of its sleek look. Unfortunately, I returned it after 2 weeks and paid about $25 more for this Kenmore version. I should have known...you get what you pay for. This Kenmore vacuum is light but study. The "bend" function and the click of the "bend" button is smooth as silk. Its simple to open and remove the HEPA filter for cleaning, along with the catch-all dirt unit. The light display to tell you at what level your battery is at is perfect. You know exactly where your battery charge is. The brush head feels substantial and is easy to remove for cleaning. The unit does not stand up alone on its own but it does have "grippers" on its top unit that make it easy to lean up against the wall and not have it come sliding down. The "bend" option that allows you to clean under furniture is just genius and is the reason I wanted this type of stick vacuum. I couldn't be happier and I think the quality of this Kenmore unit will stand up to time.

Let me start off by saying I bounced back n forth between a 3 & 4 star rating as it does pretty well for my situation but if I think of it's general use purpose I must go with a 3 ,possibly a 2.5. I have three studio STRs in the Caribbean plus my living quarters, all of which are tile floors and one small area rug. The vacuum does well on the tiled surfaces particularly sucking up the fine sand guests bring back from the beaches. As for the area rug, which is quite thin, the roller gets bogged down, headlights start flashing and suction stops...hence my star rating. If you're looking for vacuum for carpet/rugs I don't think this is the one for you. The crevice/brush attachment is great for my needs. A quick and easy way to clean the ceiling fan blades though I wish the crevice attachment would affix to end of the long "hose" so more places could be reached. The battery doesn't last long enough to handle two studios on a signal charge and it doesn't appear one can purchase another battery to swap out between charges as it appears to be a fixed battery. Having the option to swap out batteries would be ideal. I'll wait a couple three months to see how it performs long term and if it holds up I'll purchase another one so I don't have to wait 4 hours between uses. PROS *price...I think the value is fair *Suction...does well on tile/hard flooring, socks up small sand particles picks up dog hair well (on tile floors) *"bendable" wand...nice feature to get under furniture etc *canister easy to empty *swivel head is great as is it's glide across tile floors CONS *doesn't work well on carpet *fixed battery so one can't have a backup for longer run time *crevice tool doesn't affix to long wand NOTE: It's been my experience with a number of rechargeable stick vacuums that the battery craps out in less than a year. My solution to this problem is to wait 30-60 minutes after use before charging the battery, allowing it tie to cool down. This "trick" has worked well. Time will tell if that's the case with this vacuum.

I bought this vacuum refurbished by Amazon for an excellent price. I read reviews for stick vacuums, and this vacuum got a good review, so i purchased it. It is super easy to assemble, easy to empty the canister cup, and it’s easy to maneuver. It charges up enough for quick jobs such as wood kitchen floors, and works well on area rugs( mine are not thick rugs). I initially bought this vacuum for vacuuming a Ruggable large rug since the Dyson I own is way too strong for my Ruggable washable thin rug. I needed a vacuum that would go over rugs without destroying or sucking up the entire rug. Dyson is great for wood floors and carpet that is wall to wall, but not so great on area rugs( again too strong). This vacuum is light weight and easy to use. I will be purchasing a second one for my upstairs level as I like it so well. I’m not sure how long the charge / battery will last, but so far I’m thinking its worth the money.

Super disappointed in this vacuum. I was so excited when I got it because I am not a big person and it was difficult for me to lug a large corded vacuum up and down the stairs and this unit helped me to vacuum more regularly. However, I haven’t even had it for 1.5 years and within the first year I had issues with the handheld unit where they had to send me a second one to replace it and then I had issues with the light in front of the brush roll flashing and the brush roll turning off and on and I tried everything on my own to fix it and even called the customer service line Kenmore and he told me he had nothing else he could do to help me and since the warranty was only one year my choices were to send it to a service company and see if it can be repaired or buy a new one. For the cost of this unit suction is not good enough to have to replace it this frequently and I followed the manual perfectly so I know it wasn’t user error. I didn’t use the vacuum excessively, I have a small house and I was the only person who ever used it because I live alone. Super disappointing, I do not recommend this vacuum.
