I cannot say enough about this vacuum cleaner! It had been awhile since I bought one so I decided to do some online research and look for the best rated vacs that were affordable, had great suction and had the tools I wanted. It was also important that the vac worked well on both carpet and hardwood floors. I have 3 dogs so it can get pretty 'hairy' lol sometimes so the pet attachment for my couches was a big selling factor! I purchased this vacuum cleaner about 2 months ago and I am always pleased each time I use it! Shout Outs: The suction slide adjustment is a WONDERFUL feature Great for both carpet and hardwood floors Lightweight Pet cleaning tool I chose the 700 series because it has a light. This is a good feature for low light corners.

I love this vacuum cleaner. I grew up with my mom and grandma using Electrolux canister vacuums, and they were able to keep their carpet in mint condition for decades. When we got new carpet in our house, I did my homework and decided to give this vacuum a chance. PROS: I love that I can easily move between carpets and hardwood using only the controls in the handle. I fear I have now become dependent on this feature! I have vacuumed our fairly large house very regularly for the past year and I somehow haven't had to change the bag (so I have never actually seen the bag light come on, though I have checked the bag many times). I have kids, and the pet attachment works really well for cleaning under the couch cushions, in the car, etc. I also like how far the arm extends - good for cleaning cobwebs off my ceilings, and I even used it to retrieve a lost ball over the fence! The suction is also great (so great that the brush roller did completely suck out the fibers on one of my mattresses... oops). There is an auto stop safety feature that has saved me a few times - but it did confuse me the first time it happened because I thought the vacuum had died. CONS: Whoever designed the wheels for this vacuum had never vacuumed before. They are very large and only move in one direction, making the vacuum harder to maneuver than it needs to be. Swivel wheels would be much better. I love the light on the front of the vacuum head, but it only comes on when I am in carpet mode. I would like for it to come on when I am doing hard surfaces too. I also wish there was a light on the handle for when I am cleaning out my car using one of the smaller attachments. I don't love a few of the attachments, though I do like how they are all stored within the vacuum. It's neat that the crevice tool is stored for convenience on the vacuum handle but, BUT I don't understand why the tool has holes in the sides, as it loses suction. All said, I do not regret buying this vacuum. It is actually a delight to clean my house with it. And it is still going strong after 1 year of frequent use.

First let me say I have been a 50 yr supporter of Kennmore products as has been my family. So, when my previous kennmore canister vacuum expired after several years of rugged use (teenagers & dog), it was a no brainer for me to replace with another one of the same type. It arrived swiftly and was gladly received with enthusiasm to get to work. Functioned terrifically....hardwood floors, area carpets, great suction and power for pet hair. Very pleased. But then...after only one months use, the hose detached/seperated from the canister in a way it wasn't designed to. I attempted to reassemble. Plugged it and turned on. Sparks flew like crazy. Scary! Amazon was great about returning it and sending a replacement. Two months later, exact same thing happened to the replacement. My husband attempted to gently reassemble and once again, sparks flew like crazy. Dangerous to say the least!!! Came back to my transaction account on Amazon to see what the next step might be. Apparently Amazon only makes good on one return. After that, I was directed to the manufacturer...Kennmore. At this point, they are not sending a replacement. They are going to send me a new part. However the part is out of stock and on back order. Actually, the part they are sending goes to another model, I was told but it's the same for both models but might be a different color. May be on back order for one month and if not received by then, call them back. In the meantime, my house is full of pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I asked about just having a whole replacement instead but according to what I was told, the whole vacuum is also on back order. I have to wait for the part and if it doesn't come, then they will decide how to handle it next. Really, this is a huge issue for me. I can't give the vacuum itself a good review since both of them broke in the same way. There must be a weakness or defect in the product. I also can't say Kennmore has been good to work with either. 4/28/24 I just came back on here to check if there were any follow-up comments by either Amazon or Kenmore as I sometimes see when I read a review that gives a low rating. No comments, but I decided to read some of the other poor reviews while I was on the site. I wish I would have read them first!! I am having the exact same problems....the hose connection, the burning and sparks. I never read the reviews, because as I initally wrote, I have been a Kenmore product user for at least 50 yrs and my family before that even....( washers, dryers, stoves, refrig, freezer - actually have a 43 yr old Kenmore chest freezer in my basement working beautifully, vacuums and probably other things too). So, I figured it was a no brainer, no need to read the reviews. What a mistake. 5/30/24 So the new hose/part arrived about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. Due to illness I didn't get to try it out right away. Able to get to business today. Surprise, surprise....the new part does NOT work. Looks just like the part that failed. Although the representative did tell me the replacement would not be the one that went to the model I purchased, but one that went to a similar model that used the same hose. Well....apparently not!! At this point, I do not know who to contact anymore. I am now at 6 mos past origional purchase. When/if I finally get through to customer service today, will they say time has expired and I am past warranty date?? So, $348.15 down the drain!?? I will repost an update after today with the results. By now, I should be sent a refund, obviously another new machine will not solve the problem since it seems this model is defective.

Well, they don’t make them like they used to. I had my other progressive canister for probably 25 years. It was a beast. That being said this vacuum works perfectly well. Great suction. Better than any of the cordless stick vacs that I have. The tools are stored well and are convenient. Love the stair hugging feature. The pop and go feature is a little weird and not as easily used as you would think it should be and the floor piece feels weird when using it. The door covering the accessories feels very flimsy. The hose tends to get a little twisted with the 360° rotation on the unit and the wheels only go one way - they don't swivel making it hard when going around things. The cord rewind is just OK. On my last Kenmore the cord wound up so quickly - almost aggressively! This one, not so much. I've had to mess with it to get the whole cord to rewind. Overall, I think it’s worth the money. You could (and I have!) spend a lot more on other vacuums that might not work as well.

Love, love, love a kenmore canister vacuum! Kenmore makes amazing canister vacs. The power head really cleans very well, and the brush fluffs the carpet and I love the lines it leaves. The suction is adjustable and amazing. I like having a bag that I just remove and toss, versus dumping and dealing with dust and dander. I love that the handle adjusts up and down to my height or for properly reaching underneath or up high. This model easily goes from carpet to tile, wood etc. It comes with a tile floor attachment, brush and wand, but the best is the furniture mini vac attachment for furniture, mattress or stairs. You can get under anything with this vac. Light weight, retractable cord and the size is perfect for carrying or even resting on top a ladder. (I use it to clean my return air vents) This is a pet model and trust me, it works well on removing animal fur from everywhere. I even use it to clean my curtains and blinds. This is a great value because it will last you a very, very long time! So many uses. Just purchase it and enjoy the Kenmore quality!

By far the BEST vacuum. I had a miele for 23 years and wanted something similar but not pricey. I tried 3 different ones and this fits the bill. Ist is SOOOOOO strong on suction. The BEST thing is that the on/off and suck adjuster are on the handle. To put away you stand it up on end and there is a clip for the hose! LOVE that. No more hose laying everywhere. After I vac'd the air felt clean, literally, clean. Nothing leaked out from the hose or canister. No icky dirty dust flying back out. The ONLY thing I do not like is that it is a little bulky. But I will deal with it. I am going to buy one for my son's loft. Now, will it last like the miele????? We shall see.

Completely stopped working after 3 months. Return window closes after 30 days. Called Kenmore support. The guy made me make a video of me showing the vacuum plugged in but when I press the power button, nothing happens. He also wanted a copy of my invoice. Sent him what he asked for. He asked me to resend the invoice the next day which I did. I never heard from him again. It’s been over a month. He had said he would evaluate the case and get back to me with a solution. He has not responded to several emails I sent just asking for info where things stand. I asked him to confirm receipt of the second invoice, nothing. Someone we know who fixes appliances said it was the power switch that gave out so we would need a new hose. Hose is backed ordered on the kenmore site. Waste of money. I do not recommend. Update: About a month or so after writing this a new vacuum hose arrived. When I plugged it in, nothing happened. So we had initially thought a new hose would solve our problem but it didn’t. A family member who is very good mechanically took the vacuum apart and found one of the wires inside had come loose. Once he plugged it back in, viola! Power. I actually really love this vacuum but if it breaks I would say just pay for it to be fixed and don’t rely on Kenmore to help.

This vacuum is amazing. I personally have killed nearly a dozen other vacuum cleaners, but this one has held up. It's easy to unbox and get running, no instructions really needed. Changing bags isn't great, you must be careful to position it correctly or the vacuum might not close correctly and the bag might not function as intended. It picks up everything, and the anti tangle brush head feels like voodoo. I haven't needed to manually remove hair or threads for about 6 months of consistent use. The retractable cord is a nice touch. It also works well across different carpets in different rooms as well as stairs. All in all I couldn't be happier with this product.
