Great machine! I'm impressed with the connections, they seem sturdy. I used it right out of the box. I've had a bagless vacuum for years and decided to go back to the bag! It feels cleaner to me. I love the different suction levels. I was able to change from strong to low for a lightweight rug. I'm 5' 9" the ability to change the handle height was fantastic! I loved the ability to change the tools so quickly. Ready release from the main "head".

2-Month Use Review May 2026 After using this Kenmore for 2 months, I still stand by everything I stated during my first use in March. So far the only dislike I have found is the two large rear wheels. It makes it extremely hard to pull the vacuum from room to room or around furniture because the wheels only go one way. There is a third wheel that is near the front of the vacuum and recessed underneath. That one is a caster style wheel. I believe if the two large rear wheels were replaced with similar caster style wheels that the vacuum would be much less cumbersome to use. Still a good vacuum and still happy with my purchase, sans the rear wheels. March 2026 - This is a first-use review of the Kenmore BC3005 Blue Pet Friendly Canister Vac. Purchased March 6 2026. I consider myself a pretty tidy housekeeper and people often mention my house looks nice, but this vacuum has proved them wrong. I had vacuumed 3 days prior to the first use of this Kenmore using *oover upright that is about 10 years old. Except for my kitchen and dining, my house is wall to wall carpet. Assembly - Fairly straightforward. No issues. Manual is easy to understand. Canister - Seems sturdy. A little awkward to pull along unless you're in a wide open area, but this may just be me getting used to a canister vs always having an upright vac Hose - very flexible and easy to work with. Switch out of cleaning heads is easy with a press of your foot. The telescope feature is nice for reaching curtains and under beds. Cleaning heads - all are very useful. I do not have hardwood but found the hard floor attachment nice to gently go over curtains without having to remove them. I did use it to vacuum under a low clearance dresser (3") and it allowed me to clean completely underneath - something my upright was impossible to do. The brush attachment made easy work with cleaning my honeycomb blinds without damaging the fragile fabric. The crevice tool was nice for getting the dust from the carpet along the baseboards. The carpet head has easy foot-tap height change. It did a fantastic job on lifting the pile of my older carpet. Before opening the dust bag I was pretty pleased with how my carpet looked. After opening the dust bag (which I did because I accidentally vacuumed a button), the amount of dust and who knows what else was absolutely disgusting! I had no idea my upright was missing so much. The vacuum bags are great as far as trapping dust and allergens. One of the pics I took after cutting the bag open shows the multi layer assembly. Three layers of fabric tissue and an outer layer of tight bond fabric on the exterior. Nothing escaping this bag! The bag does seem to be too long for the compartment, but I just folded it up toward the opening. So far I am completely satisfied with this Kenmore and would recommend it. I will update this review if I encounter any issues in the future My photos show the layers of the bag and how much debris it pulled in (yea, it's nasty). My old Kenmore Progressive canister vacuum finally died. So, I purchased this Kenmore 600 Series model. It's basically just an updated version of the Progressive and I love it. Half of my house is laminate flooring. The old vacuum didn't have a floor head. You can't get under furniture or around to the back of a toilet with a huge carpet head. So, I had to jerry rig an old floor wand with rubber bands, as a makeshift o-ring, around the spot where it attached to the handle. This 600 series has a detachable floor brush called a Pop-N-Go that is super simple to put on and works perfectly. I also like how the 600 series tracks. The old one felt like I was dragging around an anvil. The 600 series also has a self propelled carpet head. It also has a telescoping wand to reach my 9 foot ceilings. The cons - The electronic suction controller is easily bumped so am constantly sliding it back to where I prefer it to be. I'm going to end up using a piece of tape so it will permanently stay put. When you hit the cord rewind button on my old vacuum I needed to watch out for the cord plug. The cord wound up so fast that plug would whip around and smack my ankle. Not the 600 series. It goes so slow and stops that you have to pull the plug out 3-4 times to get it to finally be completely wound up. But overall this was a good purchase.

First let me say I have been a 50 yr supporter of Kennmore products as has been my family. So, when my previous kennmore canister vacuum expired after several years of rugged use (teenagers & dog), it was a no brainer for me to replace with another one of the same type. It arrived swiftly and was gladly received with enthusiasm to get to work. Functioned terrifically....hardwood floors, area carpets, great suction and power for pet hair. Very pleased. But then...after only one months use, the hose detached/seperated from the canister in a way it wasn't designed to. I attempted to reassemble. Plugged it and turned on. Sparks flew like crazy. Scary! Amazon was great about returning it and sending a replacement. Two months later, exact same thing happened to the replacement. My husband attempted to gently reassemble and once again, sparks flew like crazy. Dangerous to say the least!!! Came back to my transaction account on Amazon to see what the next step might be. Apparently Amazon only makes good on one return. After that, I was directed to the manufacturer...Kennmore. At this point, they are not sending a replacement. They are going to send me a new part. However the part is out of stock and on back order. Actually, the part they are sending goes to another model, I was told but it's the same for both models but might be a different color. May be on back order for one month and if not received by then, call them back. In the meantime, my house is full of pet hair from my large Labrador shedding his winter coat. I asked about just having a whole replacement instead but according to what I was told, the whole vacuum is also on back order. I have to wait for the part and if it doesn't come, then they will decide how to handle it next. Really, this is a huge issue for me. I can't give the vacuum itself a good review since both of them broke in the same way. There must be a weakness or defect in the product. I also can't say Kennmore has been good to work with either. 4/28/24 I just came back on here to check if there were any follow-up comments by either Amazon or Kenmore as I sometimes see when I read a review that gives a low rating. No comments, but I decided to read some of the other poor reviews while I was on the site. I wish I would have read them first!! I am having the exact same problems....the hose connection, the burning and sparks. I never read the reviews, because as I initally wrote, I have been a Kenmore product user for at least 50 yrs and my family before that even....( washers, dryers, stoves, refrig, freezer - actually have a 43 yr old Kenmore chest freezer in my basement working beautifully, vacuums and probably other things too). So, I figured it was a no brainer, no need to read the reviews. What a mistake. 5/30/24 So the new hose/part arrived about a week ago, maybe a week and a half. Due to illness I didn't get to try it out right away. Able to get to business today. Surprise, surprise....the new part does NOT work. Looks just like the part that failed. Although the representative did tell me the replacement would not be the one that went to the model I purchased, but one that went to a similar model that used the same hose. Well....apparently not!! At this point, I do not know who to contact anymore. I am now at 6 mos past origional purchase. When/if I finally get through to customer service today, will they say time has expired and I am past warranty date?? So, $348.15 down the drain!?? I will repost an update after today with the results. By now, I should be sent a refund, obviously another new machine will not solve the problem since it seems this model is defective.

I almost never write a review, but this vacuum cleaner is amazing! I can’t believe I’m writing a review for a vacuum cleaner. Here’s the deal: I have a black and a yellow lab. I have a Malamute/GSD mix and some kind of a lab/pit/weirdo. Four dogs. My old vacuum was a Dyson. After about a month, every time I vacuumed I could smell a strong awful dog smell, even after tearing the thing apart and cleaning it. It was so bad, my husband refused to vacuum and would leave the house when I vacuumed. I had to constantly spray carpet freshener because my house smelled like dog. I figured it was because I had four dogs. I absolutely needed a vacuum cleaner that didn’t puff out foul dog smell. I researched and read reviews and went for this Kenmore. It was like a miracle took place in my vacuum world. I have been using this vacuum for several weeks. There is zero dog smell. It picks up every thing fabulously. The carpet attachment has a second motor in it and it pulls itself, practically. I only need to guide it. My severe back arthritis loves it. The floor attachment gets into those narrow odd places. I have used it for about a month every other day and I just changed the bag. It has a light that goes on to tell you the bag was full and the light never came on. So I only changed it because I thought surely it was full. It wasn’t 100% full. My house smells better and I think it’s because the suction power is superior and it gets all the dander. Remember, I have four big dogs. This vacuum is a vacuum miracle in my little world. If you have stinky, shedding dogs, I highly recommend this vacuum. It did not disappoint. It is very affordable. I looked at some vacuums that were over a thousand dollars, but this vacuum does everything I need it to and more.

We have dogs and cats. It picks up the hair, gets close to the edges. I love the attachments and that they are all contained on the vacuum, even the power mate is on board. It's amazing how much it picks up. I checked the bag and it had a lot of dirt in it. The carpet was fluffy after vacuuming it. I highly recommend this vacuum! This was a great purchase. Price was reasonable. Does everything that I need it to do. Amazing!

I've had this for almost a year, and adore it except for one thing. I'll get that out of the way, because your mileage really may vary on my one complaint. (The ONLY) Complaint: The upholstery/pet attachment with the spinning wheel died screaming after about 3 uses cleaning the stairs. I'm going to get it repaired or replace it, but I bear the manufacturer NO ill will, because (read on) PROS! This thing has consumed so much cat hair I can't believe our 5 cats have any fur left. I bought this about a few months after a ridiculously chaotic move after reading SO many reviews and asking SO many people. A few months. Do you have ANY idea how much 5 cats can shed in a few NORMAL months on thick carpet, let alone during and after a stressful move? New carpet in a BEDROOM. With SUNBEAMS. Do you have any idea how much DUST erupts from all the boxes as they go INTO that bedroom and get unpacked? Do you know how much cats just AMBLE AROUND when it's bedtime? Or just loll around in the middle of the night, or get the zoomies? And SHED THE WHOLE TIME? But the Kenmore did not complain. It did not falter. It ATTACKED that carpet with ZERO complaint and made the brand-new carpet look brand-new again. POOF. Was it heavy? NOPE. It made me honestly wonder why may parents had an upright vacuum cleaner while I was growing up. It even GOT THE CAT HAIR off my velvet quilt with one of the other attachments, said hello to a kitty under the bed effortlessly because it's unbelievably maneuverable, and got cobwebs I'm WAY too short to get. And watching the cats react to the retractable cord...well, I love my cats, but that's hilarious EVERY time. So that one attachment surrendered on the stairs. FINE. Honestly, it REALLY wouldn't surprise me if that was partially user error pressing too hard because I didn't know you didn't have to. And I am SO pleased with this vacuum. Even if the cats are deeply suspicious.

EDIT: The post below this paragraph is how I felt after using the vacuum for a couple of months. However about 4 months after purchasing, the hose attachment broke at where it attaches to the vacuum. The hose is where you turn it on, so you can't use it if it's not connected. Submitted the warranty request to Kenmore the next day. Called every couple of weeks to check in and was told the part was on backorder. There was a miscommunication around 2 months in, where a representative told me they had some in stock and that I would be getting the replacement within a couple of weeks. That was not the case, so when I called 3 weeks later and was told that they were still on back order, their way to remedy the situation was to have me wait another month and see if it came in, and then if it didn't they would offer an entire vacuum replacement. Safe to say it was still on back order, so at the end of Month 3 (almost month 4), I submitted all my info the request was approved 5 days later. The form I submitted said "You should receive your replacement within 5-7 business days once processed" but the "Order Processed" email said 25-31 business days, so I waited a month to call and check on the order/see if I could get a tracking number. Lo and behold the vacuum is on backorder as well. So if you're looking to buy this and feel good about it because it comes with a warranty, just know they outsource their vacuum warranty support, everything is on backorder, and if you bought the extended warranty through Amazon, Amazon won't do anything because the vacuum is covered under the manufacturer warranty for the first year. At this rate, I won't be surprised if I don't receive my replacement by Black Friday, and for that I'm docking stars. Here's what it'll be like if you don't break the attachments: We decided to go for a bagged vacuum since we have 5 cats, a dog, and 3 long haired humans and this thing is A BEAST! It has great suction, plenty of attachments and the hose is long and has a large diameter so you don't have to worry about things getting stuck in there. The maneuvering of the PowerMate attachment (the main vacuum head) takes some getting used to, but it's nothing that won't get better with practice. The telescoping wand is my husband's favorite feature. It's super handy for teaching the ceiling and getting the top of the cabinets. Personally, I love the PetPowerMate attachment. I've never been able to get all the pet hair off of my couch so quickly. Normally with our old set up it would take 2-3 hours to unweave the pet hair out of the tweed-like fabric that makes up our couch, but with this thing it takes no more than 15 minutes. It's a life saver. I no longer dread vacuuming my house!
