However, the handle and the spout get VERY hot. There is no way to open the spout without touching it. You need to first open the spout with a potholder and then also use the potholder to pick it up by the handle. When I ordered this I did because of the cheery cherry pattern...and I am delighted with the product. Colors are vibrant, kettle is sturdy and large enough, whistle works well. I do not find the handle getting hot, but the cover on the spout (which needs lifting to pour) does get hot, so use a potholder to open it. ... show more

It is not quite as heavy as a Chantal Tea Kettle I was replacing but I am very happy with the quality of it and it was about half the price of a new Chantal brand. It is very pretty and I got it as a gift for mom and she really loves it. Very happy with the purchase.

It has never once whistled. It also arrived with the handle halfway loose and we had to tighten it with a screwdriver. Looks cute, but the functionality sucks, and quality control checks before shipment were obviously very poor or nonexistent.

I love the design of the tea pot . The whistle is not very loud for a whistling tea kettle . If one walked out of the room , they may not hear the whistle . The handle is not really as sturdy as I would like it to be . We have only had this a couple of weeks and we have had to tighten the screw in the handle several times . The handle does get hot so be sure to use a hot pad when pouring . Overall , I still like the tea pot . Just wish the whistle was louder . ... show more

The protective coating on the inside of my old teapot wasn't very good and started to rust. The coating on the inside of this teapot is very strong and durable, as is the rest of the teapot, also looks and works great.
