The grill came on a crate and was very well packaged and protected. Easy to put together but recommend 2 people picking up the grill to put on the stand. Did my first cook (Dino ribs) and everything went perfectly. The Dino ribs were delicious. I have offset smoker and this grill takes away the guesswork on the fire management.     • Great But....
Bought this for my parents who live on the water where it is very windy. It works great however be warned the first time use may require a manual light. The unit when we first got it would kick the breaker. One we manually lit it and let it heat to 350 for about 45 minutes it worked as advertised so far ever since. I belive they put a protective enamel on the heating element that causes too much resistance untill some of it is burnt off. Once we fixed the automating start issue this grill has been fantastic and very easy to use. ... show more

Great grill, setup was easy! You will need a friend to lift it in place as it is very solid and very heavy. Connected to WIFI easily through the APP. Love the Recipe feature in the APP and there is also a Chef that has great You Tube recipes. I bought some accessories (Cast Grill & Griddle along with carbon steel Cooking Trays) directly from the company, they were super helpful and my order arrived quickly. ... show more

    • Great kamado but the app...
Kamado Joe Grills are super, I've had mine for years but I wouldn't go near anything app based with them. Just research the iKamand unit they sold a few years back and how they bricked a $249 item after only a few years of it being in service. If you have the patience (like a few months of cooks) and practice you'll find the standard Kamado Joe unit needs very little attention once the temperature ha s been dialed in. You can spend the money you save on this one to put towards a DoJoe or JoeTisserie attachment which are also fantastic. ... show more

    • A great grill simple and sweet
I've used my Komodo Joe grill for three months, enjoying worry-free cooking—just season meat and set the temperature. The grill's internal heat and dome temperature differ; I use a probe at the grill grate to monitor heat instead of relying solely on the thermostat. For example, setting 220°F typically results in 240-250°F at the grate and dome. Most newer homes have GFCI outlets that trip when using the grill's automatic fire starter. A workaround is replacing the original 12-amp plug with a 15-amp one from Amazon, which solves the issue and eliminates the need for extension cords. ... show more

Just bought this grill at a local big box store for nearly 50% off and I couldn’t be happier. First cook was pork sausage and it came out wonderful. All I did was put the charcoal in, push the fire starter button and set the temp at 250. This grill gel the temp spot on until I opened the lid and then raised it to 400 for that perfect sear. My only complaint so far is the app. Give us the option for notes/renaming a “session” so we know what we cooked and how it went. ... show more
