I have had a cheap metal detector for a while and I have used it to find things I've lost while outdoors and it has always worked, but not great. I wanted something a little better but I also didn't want to spend a lot of money. This was super easy to assemble and I immediately noticed the good build quality. When testing this, I noticed that it is a lot more accurate to point out exactly where the metal object is when scanning for it.

This is a nice and inexpensive starting point for a junior metal hunter and makes a killer of a present. All the pieces are well put together making the assembling process a breeze with ease. A 10 year old can put it together no problem. Included with the metal detector are a set of headphones and a 9 volt battery for the power. Two nobs on the main body allow to fine tune of the sensitivity level and the type of metal your in search of. A beep will notify you if you are near or hit the spot. No shovels were included in the box because they are not necessary. The metal detector does not go/find deep enough into the soil to justify the need to excavate. If you take the time to watch the video instructions on the product page you will understand even better. Overall is a great choice for beginners wanting to spend lost of time trying to find some metal.

Item was shipped fast. I added the included batteries and assembly is straight forward and only takes a few minutes to complete. I tried this out in my backyard with and without the included headphones on. I prefer to use it without the headphones and the volume control gets more than loud to hear the beeps. I actually found an old nickel, buried in the dirt. Its fun using this and I can't wait to use it at the beach. Its a simple and cheap metal detector, but seems to be built well enough to do a good job. My kids were taking turns trying to find buried treasure, but we only found a nickel. This will be a lot of fun on the beach for the kids. I'm happy with purchase and would recommend it.
