So I went through four other kettles before this one and almost gave up. I just wanted something to heat water fairly quickly and keep it hot all day, not warm where it has to be reheated but hot! I wanted only healthy materials to touch the water, and I wanted the materials not to disintegrate into the water. I wanted the kettle to hold a good amount of water and be easy to maintain. This kettle exceeded all my expectations! A quick splash of vinegar to the hot surface at the end of the day removes hard water residue, and I easily refill my kettle for the next day. That's all the maintenance I do. It's fantastically easy to program. Super easy, super safe, super reliable, super unique compared to so many of the kettles out there. BUY THIS ONE!

The different temperature presets are great. I can have warm water for my kids without having to boil water in a regular electric kettle and randomly mix it with cold water or tell them to wait until it cools, which never works either. I can also heat water for yeast for bread making. I don't think it's super accurate (I picked 122 for yeast and it heated to 140 according to the kitchen thermometer) but it beats your typical electric kettle and having to wait much longer for water to cool. Yes, it does beep a lot, but if it doesn't beep to let you know it's done, then if you pick a preset temperature, there's no way for you to know it's reached it unless you hover over the kettle like a helicopter patent. So the beeps don't actually really bother me in the end. I thought they would be really annoying, but it's fine. The only major disappointment is the latch that keeps the lid closed looks like it's made of flimsy plastic. Technically it does not touch the water. But it seems like an oddly cheap point in an otherwise nicely made kettle. I probably would have paid a few dollars more for it to be stainless steel because it seems like this part will break soon (since you always have to open and close the lid), but until then, I intend to use the kettle as much as I can!

I like the features on this kettle. I like the different brew temperatures and I like the "keep warm" feature and I find it simple enough to use. I haven't measured the actual water temperature at each of the levels, I'm really not that picky about it, so I have no idea how accurate it really is. It boils pretty quickly and it works. Point taken off for two issues, 1) this thing is LOUD. Like, it scares my dog loud. Granted my dog is a chicken and scared to death of rain and storms but this thing is loud enough that the sound triggers him. And I know it's loud because I bought a "quiet" kettle in comparison and that thing is virtually silent, so this one is LOUD. 2) The beeps are annoying and I would like to be able to turn them off but I don't think there is a way. Other than that, this is a nice kettle. It seems to do what it is advertised to do, just could do it a little better with a few tweaks. Edited to add: I want to clarify about the beeping. It beeps once when you set the kettle on the base (if the base is plugged in). It beeps when you press the power button. It beeps at EVERY temperature setting if you select the "temp" button (so a beep for every temperature you cycle through). It beeps when you select to keep warm. Basically it beeps every time you press any button. Then it beeps three times when it reaches temperature. It beeps if you remove it from the stand and put it back on. It beeps when it turns itself off. It beeps if you turn it off manually. This is ridiculous and there is no way to turn it off.

The media could not be loaded. I had an old Oster teapot that kept water hot for 24 hours. I loved it but it was time to replace it. When I began looking, there are virtually no teapots that will keep water HOT for more than 2 hours, which is strange as that is so convenient! We have a Panasonic thermal pot, but it boils very slowly, so we use an electric kettle for times when we need water quickly and the pot is empty. This Joyhill kettle does a great job! Others have mentioned that it’s noisy - not more than a standard kettle. I’d say it’s even a bit quieter than my old Oster. The controls are easy to use, press power once and it will boil to 212, or select a temperature setting and press keep warm, and it will boil it to the necessary temperature. Since it keeps water hot, I need to set the keep warm setting once or twice a day, so it’s not a bother to cycle through all five settings to get to 194. It has a large capacity but it’s not too wide. I love that it displays what temperature is the water so I can get an idea how soon it will be done.

I purchased this unit because it was budget friendly and had the features I was looking for. After a week or so of use, I threw away all packaging in the folly of believing the unit was good. Right around the time my return window expired, I got an error code while the unit stopped working; The manual reported that the unit needs to be sent to manufacturer service center. Now it is past my purchase's return window and this brand does not make it easy to send to service center (this brand doesn't even have a business website, or if they do I can't seem to find it). Take if from me, invest a little more money in a unit that will continue to work after a month and at least make it easy to be repaired if it breaks after Amazon's return Window. Even if I magically get my money back, I will not forget the brand Joyhill!!!

I have tried a few different kettles in the same price range. This is by far the best one so far. 1st, the 304 stainless steel in the kettle doesn't change colors. I have heated a few times, everything still looks the same, and clean. On the other cheap kettles, once you heated a couple times, you can start to see the discolorations. 2nd, the auto shut off actually works. Another brand I have used, the auto shut off doesn't work at all. It would keep boiling, but no shutting off. This one would boil for about 30 seconds to 1 mins, then auto shut off. well nicely done. 3rd, the bottom of the base actually have robber feet. This keep the base in place, and won't slide around. This might seem like a small thing, but its very helpful, especially on the kitchen counter. For the price, this is a great kettle!!!
