I love this hair color because with foam it is less messy. I’ve used others that weren’t foam and no matter how careful I tried to be I always ended up with hair color in the bathroom sink, tub AND floor. Don’t know how that happened. 😂 This brand is very affordable. It easy to mix because you only have to tilt NOT shake the bottle 5 times and it’s ready to go. Also I feel like you don’t have to use as much product. I always have leftover color. My natural is a dark brown but lately been getting a lot of stubborn gray hair around the temple and neck area. No matter what brand I use I leave the color on longer than what the instructions say because my gray hairs are ruthless. I prefer to get my hair colored at a salon but when trying to keep expenses down, this is the best no fuss hair color for those folks like me that do it themselves and wonder how hair color got on the bathroom floor, toilet seat and bathtub. This is great. I want to say, you need to be a little patient and wait for 1-2weeks to see the actual result. Don’t judge immediately after using it, thinking that it turned out super dark. I’m East Asian with originally black hair. I have long hair. I’ve lightened my hair color for more than a decade every 3-6 months, and my hair started looking unevenly lightened as if I have some highlights. And I had about 3 inch dark roots. I wanted to tone it down, so used this hoping to see nice gentle warm brown. I got the medium chestnut brown one. Right after I finished dying my hair, I was worried if it turned out super black, and immediately thought this was probably not a good choice… But after a week or two, it gradually faded away nicely that now my hair is true chestnut medium brown. Color matched well from the root to the tip of my hair.

Would love to submit before and after pictures but she wouldn't let me take any!! I love her silver streaks but it's not about me! Happy wife happy life!! The product was so very easy to use as I got to be the lucky guy volunteered to help!! Maybe next time it could come with ear and neck protection because apparently dark chocolate brown ears and neck are not the end goal! Especially on a pale white wifey!! She's happy now it all washed off and Her hair is so beautiful!! Would definitely recommend.....hearing protection may also be good for the helper!

I love this brand of hair colour, and I have been using it for years, because of how shiny it makes my hair [Sorry for the olde photo that shows my hair BEFORE I dyed it]. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS KIT IS: ▪︎I leave my workspace while using it much less messy because the foam is so spill/splatter proof, as opposed to a liquid dye of other brands. If I do get a random spot of the dye anywhere, I just use a spot of Dawn on it asap and then no worries. ▪︎I've got long hair, so I use the entire contents, and I've got some noticeable grey hair, so I leave it on for the full 30 min. that the instructions say to. ▪︎After you have applied the foam, be sure to not skip lathering all of it up close on your scalp with your hands and fingers as well as the lengths of your hair, this way, you get full and uniform coverage and you've got a better chance of leaving no obvious undyed patches. Super important ! ▪︎It also has no strong chemical odor that can potentially cause you to tip over into an unconscious coma. ▪︎If it's your 1st time using it, the foam will not dispense from the bottle if you try to depress the black nozzle on the top of the bottle. You have got to very SLOWLY and SOFTLY turn the bottle upside down and then right side up for no more than 5 times. No fast, vigorous shaking of the bottle. That may be why some women are getting just liquid instead of the foam, IDK. Direct that question to John Frieda's cust. service. ▪︎Squeeze the MIDDLE of the see•through part of the bottle in order to render the foam. So NO fast, vigorous shaking and squeeze it from the CENTRE of the see through bottle, just like the instructions explain. ▪︎As long as you follow the instructions, you'll be fine. The shine payoff of this brand is what puts it above and beyond other home colouring kits. If you do not get the shine payoff after using it, maybe a previous process/product that is still in your hair is not letting the dye absorb uniformly or treat your hair evenly ? IDK, ASK YOUR HAIR STYLIST. ▪︎For my own hair, the shine does not remain in my hair for the full 6-8 weeks that the colour lasts, but it does leave my hair shiny for atleast 3-4 weeks. ▪︎Don't forget to use the after care conditioning tube, immediately after dying and then once a week for maintenance. I trust this vendor to get things right, and I would not hesitate to purchase from them again ! I hope anyone reading this will get the same experience as I do !
