I was looking for an awning to add to my 10 x 10 craft fair canopy tent when I came across this one. The dimensions appeared to fit my tent perfectly so I took a chance. It arrived in good order with no missing parts. I was able to assemble it with no major difficulty even though it came with typical foreign language converted to English instructions. I suggest going by the pictures provided and ignore the text. If you are reasonably adept mechanically you will have no problem. A second person may be helpful for just a few parts of the assembly. This JEKITO awning is typical of manufacturers that, even though produce a functioning product, could benifit from less scrimping on materials and produce an even better one. A few of the critical parts no doubt would be more durable if made from cast zinc alloy instead of polymer plastics. Now, that being said, the fact that this awning so perfectly mated to my canopy tent with just a few modifications, for now, overcomes those manufacturing shortcomings. I am withholding judgment on any durability issues such as stamina to wind and multiple set up and take downs that this awning will be put through in the near future. I will say that I am impressed with the engineering of the tarp attachment to the spindle. It looks to hold up nicely and was unexpectedly easy to put on. The tarp itself looks and feels of high quality material. I'm giving this JEKITO awning 4 stars for now, mostly because it so perfectly fit my need as much needed accessory for my craft fair canopy tent. ... show more

    • Nice setup but....

Installed this on my south side recessed patio with only a few issues. First, the instructions could be better, watched an assembly video to figure out a few minor things. Had to replace all the sheet metal screws on the main tarp reel, the holes were too large for the small screws that came with the kit and three of the 4 screws on the pre-assembled center piece were striped from the factory, no big deal for me. I had to add additional bracing at the top where it meets the underside of the overhang. This was due to the lack of any real support and I didn't like the idea of so much pressure pushing against the trim board. The bracing helps distribute the pressure over a larger area. I also added concrete stepping pads under the bottom feet or they would sink into the ground when tightened. Other than that I like it and could feel the temp difference on my side patio as soon as I unreeled it. Now we can sit outside in the summer time, without the sun baking us. ... show more

This would have been a 4- or 5-star product if not for the awful directions. At least one person I know is buying one after seeing how mine turned out. The idea of a no-drill retractable awning seemed like a godsend for renters like me with west-facing exterior walls that get blasted with hot afternoon sun all summer. Then wind picks up in the evening, so I needed something that was easy to take down or retract. Once it’s all the put together, the end result actually feels like it lives up to the promise, but there are some caveats: —When extended, awning supports can block walkways. Highly depends on the specs of your area and the clearance you have to work with. Everything is adjustable, but you may find that the angles you need for the awning to retract and extend fully result in an obstacle that people have to walk around, rather than an overhanging shade. —Haven’t tested in rainy conditions yet, but it feels like the awning fabric will need some extra waterproofing for rain to roll off it. Other than, see my photos for notes! I’m very happy with it and may upgrade my rating if it wears well over time. I personally would not trust the wider version to be as sturdy as the narrow one I got, and might eventually get a second one to put next to the first. ... show more

Instructions were a bit confusing, and none of our poles were labeled,but we were able to figure it out. I really like it, just wish it was bigger! And if you're debating on cream or black... i got cream. When i have this out, and sun comes out, it brightens up the room ALOT. So one may want black for that reason.. other than that, i am pleased! ... show more

I installed 2 of these awnings on my patio that gets torrential sun in the afternoon & it’s cut down on my AC significantly. It’s only been a month so I can’t say on longevity, but it’s great these are mostly just tension rods. So no drilling making it 10/10 renter friendly. Installation took a bit of trial and error, and it is impossible to do it alone.it doesn’t rain here so can’t speak in how it holds up with that, but a slight gust of wind has it bouncing around. This awning does a nice job providing much need shade on our deck. It looks great. The reason I can’t give 5 stars is due to the instructions. The item is not too difficult to assemble, but the instructions are terrible. But I’m happy we figured it out and have a nice shade.

    • Difficult instructions!!!!
The material is nice, but the instructions need to be clarified. They are difficult to read and in need of better illustrations. A video that walks and talks you in setting it up would really help! The awning sags because of the length, hope it does’nt fall or worse, break.
