I used this tool to remove and re-install lower bushings in my front shock absorbers on my 2013 Taco 4WD. I ended up buying a 30mm short socket to push the bushing shell out of the shock eye. If I pushed on the inner sleeve, it would push it out of the bushing and ruin it. This ball joint press worked perfectly, although juggling and aligning all the adapters was a challenge. Once I got everything lined up and tight, I just cranked on the hex bolt and out the bushing came. Installing the new bushing was just the reverse process. I put the new bushings in the freezer overnight to make than slightly smaller, and greased the shock eye. The right tool for the job. This press is a great value!

It took out the ball joints on a 2003 jeep WJ pretty easy. Very similar to the Maddox wich I also popped of another 20+yr old ball joints with. The installs were easy as well if you understand the adapters.

I used this unit several times pressing ball joints out and in on my 1990 Jeep YJ. C-Clamp is strong. I read where many others brands have bent. Not this one. Highly recommend.

Honestly, with this tool package you just can't say for sure if it will work with your vehicle. I took the chance and can tell you it works with a VW Vanagon/Westfalia to do the Lower Ball Joints and Upper Control Arm Bushings. The cylinder I ended up using for the lower ball joint was pretty snug so I used a little Glycerin to lube the rubber so it slipped on safely. Deal is, it's basically a puzzle to find the configuration to do the job required. I posted pictures so you can see the combos that happened to work for me (sorry for the messy workspace). Also, I suspect with folks who break or bend the press tool, that they are using it to 'remove' the old parts. I'd suggest removing them the 'old school' way using a heavy hammer/sledgehammer. There's videos on YouTube that show you how to do it. So, used as a presser I could not be happier. For this price, allowing one to do the job themselves saves you $$$. It's so worth the purchase.

This is a great kit! Hands down better than harbor freight or renting one from AutoZone. This had all the cups to press ball joints and bushings for my 2011 Sierra. Definitely would recommend this kit
