The media could not be loaded. This is a very attractive can, it works as described and is highly versatile in function. I like that there are no moving parts in the can to snag bags. The motion sensor works great...every time you walk by, so you may want to consider where you place it. The small off switch on the side will disable it completely. The latch is effective at preventing this and at keeping the pup out of the food can. I like that there is a push button override if you need more open time...then just press the close button. The air freshener had a nice neutral clean smell (shown clipped inside in the picture), but I am not using it for the dog food. I bought the extra large size but 13 gallon would be sufficient for 40 lbs food bag. It runs on 3-4 C batteries or can be plugged in with a cord as an alternative. ... show more

Overall I'm unimpressed with the quality of this trashcan. For $108 the materials are sub par. Cheap thin feeling metal. Cheap plastic automatic flimsy doors. Sensor no longer works correctly... It's opening on its own when we are across the room and it's only aittle over a month old. Wish we did not waste our money on this can. First of all, I do like this trash can. I bought an open-box and it arrived with one tiny dent on the side that thankfully is hidden due to the location of the can against the wall and my recycling can. I found a 6V 1.67 Amp power supply in my junk drawer that is powering the can fine. The open sensor seems to detect my hand quickly. And the doors open super fast. I was afraid my OCD would be impatient with them but that's not happening at all. The doors are also semi quiet. Nobody taking a nap near the kitchen will hear the doors open or close. It's semi-dog proof. If your dog knocks the can open, then the lid may pop off. There is nothing holding the lid in place. I bent the sides of the can inward a little and that seems to have created slight resistance for removing the top. So if the can does get knocked over, the top may or may not pop off. Thankfully, my dog has never knocked the can over. But then again he's always been able to open the top flap on my previous can so he could hunt for whatever it is that smells good. Bad boy! hahah Well those days are now done. That's not going to happen with this electronically-controlled flap. So, minus one star simply because there is no way to latch the lid in place on top of the can. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. We’ve had this trash can for about three months now and I absolutely love it. The movement is smooth and fairly quick, and the set timer is reasonable. I also like the push button option that bypasses the timer which really comes in handy while cooking. Odors haven’t really been an issue for us so I assume the filter is working well. The manufacturer also included a free offer in the box for an extra filter or some trash bags, so we opted for the extra filter which is definitely nice to have on hand. As far as battery life, we have had the same batteries in this since we purchased it three months ago and it’s still going strong so I imagine they will last for quite some time. We haven’t tried it without batteries but it does come with a wall adapter if you prefer to plug it in. Another plus, we went with the larger of the sizes and man has that been a game changer. It’s just me, my partner, and our dogs. We only have to take our trash out once a week the night before trash pick up and sometimes the bag isn’t even completely full. On a side note, if you are weary about the negative reviews, make the leap. We received our first trash can damaged and the replacement process was insanely easy. Once we received our new trash can we had ZERO regrets or buyers remorse. Highly recommend, its worth spending the extra bucks. ... show more

Had to replace an older motion sensor trash bin. This was the best I could find. Definitely on the pricey side but it's been working well for us. Quality-wise it's okay. Dropped something on the lid and it left a little chip on the paint. Could be better.

    • Expensive for what you get

I bought this because it seemed like an excellent value in comparison to more well-known brands charging double or more for a touchless trash can. Can’t say I hate it but it’s apparent that a few shortcuts were taken in its design and build quality, some relatively minor but that feel disingenuous or at least “sneaky” in nature to make the product seem more appealing at time of purchase. For one thing, where other brands use a full inner plastic bin (to protect the stainless steel exterior bin from dents from objects tossed into the trash can and also make cleaning easier), this trash can uses a basic flimsy plastic “ring” to hold the bag in place, which in my opinion makes it very awkward to remove the bag and also has the side effect of visibly exposing the edge of the plastic bag on the outside of the trash can (yes, I have it installed correctly). Not the end of the world but makes it look cheap to me. There is also a prominently-placed and tacky-looking “iTouchless” sticker on the top of the lid, which is not shown in the product photos and does not appear removable without causing damage to the lid as it’s affixed with very strong adhesive (the lid is also made of plastic, not stainless steel—this is, however, disclosed in the listing). The unit also arrived with a 3-inch scratch on it straight out of the factory packaging which also makes me suspect general quality control issues. I reached out to the seller twice on their preferred contact method (as it was not a fulfillment issue) with no response. The “open” and “close” buttons are starting to bubble, which is unsightly and makes them hard to tell which is which. This was one of those products that the hassle of returning outweighed the negatives of keeping it, so I kept it. I’d say you pay for what you get, but I expected better for the price. ... show more
