I’m super excited to have this set up. It’s concealed to keep the smell minimized and it’s not out in the open for my cats to invade. It’s still centrally located so it’s very convenient. It’s easy to install but I needed a drill. The cabinet materials won’t let you go into it without pre drilled holes. I also used a screwdriver, measuring tape and impact drill. It came with simple instructions. No bags included which is a bummer. You’ll need to get them separately with this order. I also wish they offered a one can replacement for these two because changing 2 specialty size bags might get annoying over time. Great value for the money. Sturdy and performs well after a few operating tests. Fits my standard size cabinet that has an outlet box protruding into it with no problem. It doesn’t touch.     • Just what I needed for a small cabinet

This roll out trash and recycling unit is just perfect for my RV. My base cabinets are relatively small, and this was one of the few trash/recycling roll out bins that would fit the space. Installation was a breeze (just make sure you measure accurately and check that the cabinet door opens and closes without impediment before screwing it in place). These bins slide smoothly and keep our trash neat and out of sight (and out of reach of our dogs). Very happy with this purchase. Just note that these bins are smaller than “normal” kitchen cans that take 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags, but they are plenty big for 2 people. There are specially made bags to fit these bins, but they’re expensive and not usually stocked at major retailers. We tried 8 gallon bags, but they were too short. 10 gallon bags fit fine, but they’re much more expensive and not as readily available as the 13 gallon size, which is what we’re using. Drawstring bags work much better than self - tie bags, which tend to slip down into the bin. There are special rubber bands that can be purchased, but the 13 gallon drawstring bags work for us. ... show more

SimpleHuman products are expensive, but mostly worth it. The construction quality of the frame is top-notch: heavy-duty rollers, thick stainless steel throughout, and easy four-screw installation. The handle on the front also acts as a sort of "bumper," pushing the unit back, if you forget push it all the way in yourself, when you close the cabinet door. These are NOT big trash recepticles - if you have a large family that generates a fair amount of trash and recycling, look elsewhere. For us (just two adults), they work fine. We fill each part about once a week. --- One rating star down from five stars for SimpleHuman's proprietary trash bag sizes: I tried using supermarket liners, but they didn't fit at all: either too big (10 gallon size) or too small (wastebasket size). So I had to buy the SimpleHuman-sized bags online, a pain if you run out and need some RIGHT NOW! Also, each recepticle uses a different size liner: The black trash uses size "G," the blue recycling, uses size "D" Two different and kind of pricey liners. And the unit doesn't come with a "starter kit" of liners. Shop around for the best price on the liners and you'll be fine. Just be aware of this before you buy this unit. ... show more

Best trash can I’ve owned, but I’d still wait for a sale. I have it installed under the sink cabinet so it’s out of the way and hidden. Installation can be a bit of a hassle if doing it alone. You need to drill the frames down to anchor it, so it helps to have someone to hold things. I didn’t buy the bags to fit the bins, but the normal trash bags I had are fine in it for now. At some point when I run out of normal trash bags, I’ll be looking for the ones that fit better in these bins. The rack is super smooth after installation. No sticking or friction. There’s no lid for these bins, so be aware that the trash might smell depending on what you throw out. I like the smaller volume because it makes me clean up sooner without letting things just pile and pile. ... show more

I so wish I had looked for this item 6 years ago, when we redid our kitchen! We were supposed to have a pull out garbage setup, but the unit that was specified by the designer did not fit because of the plumbing (ugh). So we could not install it. Instead we used regular garbage cans for years, and pulling them in and out really damaged the edge of the cabinet. Anyways. Somehow I had always assumed that b/c of how our plumbing is, no pull out unit would fit our space. Until I looked on Amazon on a whim. And found this gem! It was super easy to install and fits our space. Yes, it's more compact compared to what we had before, but this works for me 100%. I also regained space to organize my under sink cleaning supplies better. 100% recommended. ... show more

For the extremely minor inconvenience of taking the bags of trash out to the large bin a little more often, I now have trash and recyclables in one place and it's so much more organized and convenient. The unit comes all put together (huge bonus) and took only minutes to install. I looked at a lot of similar products before purchasing this one, and am very glad I chose simplehuman. It may be a bit more expensive than others out there, but it's very well made, much sturdier, and the gliding mechanism is smooth. It's also equipped with a strong handle to pull out and push back in, where as others had flimsier handles or no handle at all. Smaller sized bags are suggested to fit the bins, but I'm using my 13 gallon kitchen bags currently as I have a full box to use up, and it's fine. There isn't a negative to be found about this, so go ahead and send this to your cart! :) ... show more

I like this garbage set, but I'm not in love with it. When we moved to a new home, my wife and I felt it would make ti easier to have a set of trash cans for our recyclables and composting. After researching solutions, we settled on an under-counter pull-out set of cans. As we looked around, we discovered that not only did Simplehuman offer a product, but unlike many of the competition they offered a set with a blue recycling can for easier identification. Woo hop! First, this garbage can is dead-simple to install and took me less than 5 minutes. Just remember to separate the stand from the track and it's easy. If you don't... expect it to take you about 2-minutes longer. Second, the unit slides out well and the track is well made, but the frame just feels a bit cheaper than I'm used to from other Simplehuman products, which is disappointing. We own many other Simplehuman products so this is the first time we've been anything other than amazed. But I also have a few other gripes. Why can't the two cans be the same size? Why are these cans such a short width? These cans look like little people in a large coat. In hindsight there are other pull-out cans that would have been a closer fit for our cabinets and our needs. I know the above may not sound like a good reason for a three-star review, but I have high expectations for Simplehuman and they just didn't meet our expectations.
