I have quite a few pair of skates and had wanted to try these for a while. I finally scored a pair in my size from Amazon warehouse in “very good” condition. Bont sizing is VERY different so it’s super important to measure your feet and use the size chart. I measure 3 sizes smaller than my street shoe size. Normally I would not have heat molded them and let them break in naturally. But because I have a nerve in my foot that gets triggered by pressure and causes severe swelling and pain, I decided to heat mold these with my blow dryer. It was so easy and fun. The entire base and counters soften and you can shape them exactly how you want them. I was able to make room for my sensitive area and also tighten up my heel area. They are now absolutely perfect and fit like a glove. The wheelbase on the tracer plate is a little longer than I’m used to but I’m adjusting well to it. The hidden heel is high enough that it feels similar to an art boot and not once have I felt like I was going to fall backward like I normally do with a flat skate. I definitely recommend these to someone who is looking to park or trail skate. Super comfortable and the boot is made well. It will definitely hold up to abuse. Size: Bont 10.5
So you are getting a very high quality boot. The sole is fiberglass. The upper is leather/suede reinforced with nylon and fiberglass. They are very well padded with closed cell memory foam which is great for many reasons not the least of which are comfort, moisture resistance and durability. The tonge is held in place with a lace loop and internal ankle velcro strip. This really keeps the tongue well centered. This is a superior design to the Sure Grip double elastic bands that can really interfere with plate mounting and insole changes. The insoles are very thin memory foam. Depending on your instep height you may be able to replace them with a Spenco Arch Support insole. Spenco insoles are EXTREMELY comfortable, absorb shock and provide great arch support and odor resistance. Highly recommended if you can fit them. There is a built in/internal 6mm heel. You will not see the heel outside the boot but it is there. The heel cup is a thermoplastic resin. The boot is heat moldable. The size is true to European chart, Bont 10.5 = EU 45 = US 11.5. Convert your US size to EU and go to the Bont chart from there or measure your feet. Ankle support is very strong, they do break in a bit but remain pretty stiff. The Tracer plates are a fairly standard roller skate/derby plate with 20° kingpin angle. They are aluminum but nothing really special. The package wheels are Bont Street Flow, 89A hardness. Too hard for streets and very soft on a rink. Not really sure where they would be happy in our neck of the woods, no skate parks, just rink or street. 89A wheels are a compound we generally avoid, something designed for multiple applications excells at none. The bearings are ABEC 5 ZZ shielded so they are not serviceable. There are no spacers or speed rings. Wheels spin decent but nothing close to Bones Reds with rings and spacers. Overall they skate well. This is a really great boot design. You are buying these for the boot which is the best out there at this price point. We skate recreational/exercise street and rink, no grinding, slides, jumps, etc. Cannot opine on plate durability for these applications. At 6'1" and 220lbs they are reasonably responsive and no sign of flex with our typical use. Wheel swap recommended for the rink or the street, better bearings, speed rings and spacers transform these skates over "out of the box" configuration. The extruded aluminum matte finish Tracer plates are not as pretty as Sure Grip's Avanti design. They are very comfortable and if you want strong ankle support these are the way to go. ... show more

Love these. Skating was my favorite childhood hobby; decades later I’ve started to enjoy it again. I did a lot of research before purchasing. I ended up buying Moxi Lollys, Reidell Crews & these to compare. I decided on these. The Lollys were cute and very comfortable (I especially loved the lined tongue & the gummy wheels), but they were $60 more. Plus, I thought the Bonts felt more supportive and I liked feeling lower to the ground in the Bonts. The Reidells were just uncomfortable. I plan to skate mostly outdoors, so will probably reorder from the manufacturer’s website where I can specify 78A wheels. These ship with the Street Flow wheels which are, I think, 89A. Otherwise they’re perfect for me! I will say that I needed to size down a full 2/2.5 sizes! I wear a women’s 7.5-8 shoe, but have a somewhat narrow foot. I originally ordered the 6 based on Bont’s size chart. The heels fit well, but my feet were swimming in the toe box. The 5.5 is very snug in the heel, but I think heat molding will help with that. Overall, the 5.5 fit much better. I should add that I worried I might not like these based on looks alone. People rave about how they love the look, but the photos I saw did not appeal to me at all. Luckily, I found them to be much cuter on! So, if aesthetics are the only thing holding you back, I’d say give them a try! ... show more

    • Great skates!
I really like these skates. They are comfortable and supportive. I don’t particularly love the color/design of the wheels but they do work great. I am not so sure about Bont Customer Service though. I emailed them with a pre-purchase question and they never replied to my email.

I now have two pairs of these and will definitely be getting a third as a permanent outdoor set up. I have skated hundreds of hours on my first pair and bought these for a different wheel set up. A very excellent company and product.

I am giving this a 2 star rating because I paid $300 for skates and you think they would come in perfect condition… So I’m not sure why there are red and black stains on the tongues of my skates? Not happy and I don’t have time to replace them!!! I suggest you go to the Bont website if you want these skates. Bont skates are an awesome skate if you plan to use them for roller derby! ... show more

The media could not be loaded. These bont parkstars fit me great!! I wear a mens 8 and bought these in a 6.5! The quality is amazing on these skates, and I already want to order a personalized pair! I’m excited to heat mold these also. 10/10 recommended!
