A few months in, and zero problems. It does what it says. Pros: Holds standard bags. I've never had a problem with big-name kitchen trash bags fitting. The "retainer ring" to affix the bag to the can is simple and effective. Motion detection works great. It really wants you to walk in front of the can, so it's not always sensitive to waving a food wrapper in front of the sensor. But you get used to it. Put your leg by the can and it opens. Pairs well with an A/C adapter. I'd strongly recommend getting the A/C adapter if you can. Never worry about batteries again. Power on/off for when you clean the can, go on vacation, or change bags. The lid still tends to pop open while moving it from the way the lid is counterweighted, but that's fine. So long as the motor isn't running when you tell it not to. Cons: The carbon filter idea is a modern trend I don't really like. Even if you want to replace the filter, which is easy enough, it lives inside your garbage can. It gets splashed with all the gross stuff in there. I'd rather just take it off as soon as the included filter runs out of life. Overall: This motion sensing trash can has worked perfectly. In my experience, unless you get a really expensive or industrial pedal bin, I've seen sensors tend to work longer than foot pedals. So I love this garbage can. Recommended.

Sleek, shiny, and with a presence that says, “I am here to conquer your garbage AND your heart.” The touchless feature? Revolutionary. No longer am I forced to sully my fingers with the sticky remains of last night’s spaghetti disaster. Oh, no. This can senses my approach, like some sort of high-tech butler, and opens its lid with the majestic grace of a king’s wave. It says, "Welcome. Your garbage is safe with me." And that’s not all. The AbsorbX Odor Control System is truly chef's kiss phenomenal. I like that it is motion sensored. It looks nice. It has a large enough opening. Regular trash can liners fit well. I with it opened a little faster but not a big deal. The one thing I will tell you is the odor control fliter doesn't do much of anything. The first day we had barely anything in the can yet when the lid opened you could smell stuff, even over the next several days. I didn't have that issue with the old plastic trash can so not sure why this metal can is different. It was a little pricey. Delivery was fast.

I LOVE everything about this product. Perfect size, great functionality including auto open/close, filter, etc! The only issue is that it doesn't last longer. Bought my unit just over 2 years ago, and it stopped working. Replaced the batteries and still nothing. Most likely an issue with the sensor. So sad!!!

I do love this trash can. The dogs cannot get in! We did cover the sensor so we do not open it by waving our hand over it as we figured the dog could do that by accident. Instead we use the buttons to open and close it. Turkey and chicken bones are not accessible to the four footed beasties. I did not get the rechargeable option and the batteries have lasted at least 6 plus months. It is easy to use and rather elegant.
