This trash can is terrific! I had anoither brand of motion sensor trash can and it worked for about 6 weeks then quit. I thought maybe the batteries were dead but that was not the case. I tried contacting the company to get my new can and/or top as was spelled out in the warranty but the company never responded to my calls or emails. A few months in, and zero problems. It does what it says. Pros: Holds standard bags. I've never had a problem with big-name kitchen trash bags fitting. The "retainer ring" to affix the bag to the can is simple and effective. Motion detection works great. It really wants you to walk in front of the can, so it's not always sensitive to waving a food wrapper in front of the sensor. But you get used to it. Put your leg by the can and it opens. Pairs well with an A/C adapter. I'd strongly recommend getting the A/C adapter if you can. Never worry about batteries again. Power on/off for when you clean the can, go on vacation, or change bags. The lid still tends to pop open while moving it from the way the lid is counterweighted, but that's fine. So long as the motor isn't running when you tell it not to. Cons: The carbon filter idea is a modern trend I don't really like. Even if you want to replace the filter, which is easy enough, it lives inside your garbage can. It gets splashed with all the gross stuff in there. I'd rather just take it off as soon as the included filter runs out of life. Overall: This motion sensing trash can has worked perfectly. In my experience, unless you get a really expensive or industrial pedal bin, I've seen sensors tend to work longer than foot pedals. So I love this garbage can. Recommended. ... show more

I bought this garbage can 4 years ago and it still works great. It can get a little wonky if you put cheap batteries in or when they're running low. That said, I've only had to change them once. Twice if you count replacing the cheap ones when it started spazzing out. And you absolutely have to use the charcoal pouches. The can will stink as soon as you put anything organic in it without one or if you go more than 3-4 months without changing it. They're pretty cheap here on Amazon, especially in the bigger bundles. Roughly $20 for 8 of them which can last a couple years depending on how often you change them. I like reviews written after people have used the product for a while (not necessarily 4 years lol) so I hope this is helpful. ;) ... show more

Something broke on our trash can after less than 2 months and it completely stopped working, no lights or anything tried different batteries and the recommended AC adapter with no luck, however one call to their customer service fixed everything and had a new lid on the way to me in less than 10 minutes. Representative spoke clear English and was extremely helpful especially when verifying my info. So hopefully its just a fluke and this one had a rare problem but up until it broke it worked exactly as advertised. Would buy again especially from this brand. ... show more

I bought this trash can in May 2020. It has held up great. It feels like the little motor that opens the lid may be starting to wear out, bc even after changing batteries, it doesn't open all the way or as quickly as a couple years ago. I could prob live with it but it sorta defeats the purpose of having a touchless trash can of you have to manually open the lid all the way. Only complaint is that the odor absorber would come loose easily, and one time it somehow fell into the trash and I accidentally threw it out. But overall, I recommend this trash can. This is my 2nd iTouchless trashcan. The stainless steel with black lid fits in perfectly in my kitchen appliances. I love that it opens quickly with no effort and also closes on its own. If you need it to stay open longer, you can use the open button and you will have like 5 minutes before it automatically closes again. The charcoal filters keep any trashcan odors at bay and they last for a long time. You can easily get replacement filters on Amazon. Also, they run on 4 D cell batteries which seem to last a long time. You can also get a power adapter and plug in if you don't want to use batteries. This can works great! I love the function of the motion sensor lid. We did not need a cord which is great. Only thing I don’t love is that the can can be bent easily.
