Description

The Included Automatic Dirt Disposal Unit Empties on its own so you don't have to think about vacuuming for weeks at a time. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal holds 30 bins of dirt, dust and hair while the Filtration System captures and traps 99% of microscopic particles. On First Use, the s9 uses it's full range of sensors to map out your floor and the world around it. Roomba then uploads the information collected by its sensors to the iRobot HOME app to allow you to properly name each room. You can merge, split and label rooms as you see fit. After that, you can schedule the Roomba s9 to clean certain rooms at certain times, or have the robot clean an entire level of your home. You can then direct the Roomba s9 to where you want it to clean by voice commands using Alexa-enabled devices or the Google Assistant. As an added bonus, the iRobot s9 will automatically orient the vacuuming pattern to match the orientation of the room. So you come home everyday to the perfect vacuumed lines in your carpet! The s9 easily moves and cleans around obstacles, under and around couches, and along walls ensuring a thorough cleaning. The molded, soft-touch bumper cushions the contact between Roomba and furniture, walls and other objects while accurately discerning soft barriers from solid barriers, allowing Roomba to go under curtains, bed skirts and couch skirts. PerfectEdge Technology with advanced sensors, and the specially designed Corner Brush with five arms to grab dirt and debris from deep in corners and along walls, directing it into the robot’s path to be vacuumed up. When compared to Roomba 600 Series and AeroVac System, the Roomba s9 Features a Superior 3-Stage Cleaning System which uses 30% Wider Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes and, 40X the suction to pull in embedded dirt, debris, and pet hair from wherever it hides. Power Boost Technology also automatically increases suction to clean deep into carpets and corners, giving you the best suction to clean you

  • Poor Performance, Over Priced
10/25 update : Mapping worked out finally. The navigation of this thing leaves a LOT to be desired. I put it in a nice out of the way spot next to the dining room table. Stupid thing insists on going through the dining room area to get to the kitchen. I set up room dividers to make the home base part of the kitchen and it STILL insists on going through the dining room table. Also, ti seems to need plenty of room once it leaves the docking station or it decides its stuck (2 feet from anything) and returns home. Makes me wonder why I spent that much money! Moved the home base and wound up having to do a complete remap. Hope it works. The first one received worked pretty well. Made a complete map and I created rooms and jobs from that map. It died after about a month. iRobot sent a new unit and since then it has all been downhill. Before it finally was able to create a complete map it created three. Every mapping run seemed to decide that a new map was in order and none was complete. FINALLY it created a complete map and all was well for a brief while. Now, it has decided that to go from home to kitchen it has to go the long way around and inevitably gets stuck and returns home. It moves around for a few minutes or so and then quits. I had to literally pick it up and place it in the kitchen. Pausing the job and physically putting it anywhere else along the path to the kitchen and it decided that was the area to vacuum. At least it knew what section of the map it was in. Finally placed it in the kitchen and it began to vacuum the kitchen area, the job that I initially started. No idea if it will be able to get home. Hopefully that will correct the map. By the way, it gets stuck as often as it actually completes a job. All in all, performance is frustrating to say the least and for the amount of money iRobot is asking and the cost of consumables (bags, filters, etc) very poor value for the money. Great vacuum (good brushes, strong suction), LOUSY navigation. ... show more

  • I gotta do it..
I gotta give it five stars. There are some problems --gets stuck once in a while but if you kind of pickup the stringy things before you run it you'll do fine. I have cats and it loves cat hair. And it's amazing to see itself empty. DON'T buy any vacuum that doesn't do this. Even the Roombas. Now, I've only had it for a couple of months and so far so good. It is heavy so it gets down and actually vibrates the runs. No problem with fringe. It complains a little but eventually moves on. At least your fringe gets clean which never happened before. Now, only one time did I have to turn it over for servicing. The day it ran over some cat poop. I know gross and this doesn't happen very often but hey..they're cats. It was easy to do. Turn it over, remove the rollers, clean the wheels and you're off. The software is just pretty good. I am having trouble adding rooms but that might be me. One thing I which it had is some sort of bail so you could pick it up and carry it to a different floor. And, it is slow. I have a pretty good sized lower floor where it lives next to the upright piano and it can take up to 5 hours to do the 1000 square feet because of all the tables, chairs and floor plan. What do I care if i'm not there. Caution: do NOT try to sit there and predict what it's going to do next. Don't waste your time watching it. BUT I LIKE IT! ... show more

  • It was OK, but now it's garbage
I have two of these... Well, HAD two of these, until this week. The good: It charges itself, and when I start it, it goes around and vacuums, returning to base periodically to empty the dustbin and recharge as needed for a large job. All of that is great. The bad: - The home base has to be positioned away from nearby objects along the same wall, or the robot might have trouble docking. - The robot can't navigate in the dark, so I have to leave the lights on at night for it to run. - The robot is really stupid and gets stuck on rugs, eats loose items left on the floor, closes itself inside the bathroom, runs over things, wedges itself *under* things (cabinet kicks, furniture that doesn't extend all the way to the floor, etc.), and gets stuck. Before it can run, I have to go around and pick up all sorts of things that I would just vacuum around with a regular vacuum. And even then, when it does run, it often finds a new way to get stuck, so the job is rarely ever completed successfully. Let's hope your dog or cat doesn't leave you a "gift" that this thing finds first! - Mapping is mediocre. It takes time to build a map, and it can take many job attempts to get a reasonable map when jobs can't complete. Even after all of that, the map is only semi-recognizable. The ugly: Both of my robots finally died only a week or two apart with the same problem: The rollers got some hair wrapped around them, and ended up MELTING one of the ends where it fits into the cleaning head, destroying not just the roller, but also the cleaning head. Turns out this product has been discontinued by iRobot, and they no longer have cleaning head replacements. So both of my robots are now garbage after having them for only ~2 years! iRobot has lost me as a customer; not supporting a product that I've only had for 2 years is ridiculous. ... show more
