Description

The Included Automatic Dirt Disposal Unit Empties on its own so you don't have to think about vacuuming for weeks at a time. The Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal holds 30 bins of dirt, dust and hair while the Filtration System captures and traps 99% of microscopic particles. On First Use, the s9 uses it's full range of sensors to map out your floor and the world around it. Roomba then uploads the information collected by its sensors to the iRobot HOME app to allow you to properly name each room. You can merge, split and label rooms as you see fit. After that, you can schedule the Roomba s9 to clean certain rooms at certain times, or have the robot clean an entire level of your home. You can then direct the Roomba s9 to where you want it to clean by voice commands using Alexa-enabled devices or the Google Assistant. As an added bonus, the iRobot s9 will automatically orient the vacuuming pattern to match the orientation of the room. So you come home everyday to the perfect vacuumed lines in your carpet! The s9 easily moves and cleans around obstacles, under and around couches, and along walls ensuring a thorough cleaning. The molded, soft-touch bumper cushions the contact between Roomba and furniture, walls and other objects while accurately discerning soft barriers from solid barriers, allowing Roomba to go under curtains, bed skirts and couch skirts. PerfectEdge Technology with advanced sensors, and the specially designed Corner Brush with five arms to grab dirt and debris from deep in corners and along walls, directing it into the robot’s path to be vacuumed up. When compared to Roomba 600 Series and AeroVac System, the Roomba s9 Features a Superior 3-Stage Cleaning System which uses 30% Wider Dual Multi-Surface Rubber Brushes and, 40X the suction to pull in embedded dirt, debris, and pet hair from wherever it hides. Power Boost Technology also automatically increases suction to clean deep into carpets and corners, giving you the best suction to clean you

  • Poor Performance, Over Priced
10/25 update : Mapping worked out finally. The navigation of this thing leaves a LOT to be desired. I put it in a nice out of the way spot next to the dining room table. Stupid thing insists on going through the dining room area to get to the kitchen. I set up room dividers to make the home base part of the kitchen and it STILL insists on going through the dining room table. Also, ti seems to need plenty of room once it leaves the docking station or it decides its stuck (2 feet from anything) and returns home. Makes me wonder why I spent that much money! Moved the home base and wound up having to do a complete remap. Hope it works. The first one received worked pretty well. Made a complete map and I created rooms and jobs from that map. It died after about a month. iRobot sent a new unit and since then it has all been downhill. Before it finally was able to create a complete map it created three. Every mapping run seemed to decide that a new map was in order and none was complete. FINALLY it created a complete map and all was well for a brief while. Now, it has decided that to go from home to kitchen it has to go the long way around and inevitably gets stuck and returns home. It moves around for a few minutes or so and then quits. I had to literally pick it up and place it in the kitchen. Pausing the job and physically putting it anywhere else along the path to the kitchen and it decided that was the area to vacuum. At least it knew what section of the map it was in. Finally placed it in the kitchen and it began to vacuum the kitchen area, the job that I initially started. No idea if it will be able to get home. Hopefully that will correct the map. By the way, it gets stuck as often as it actually completes a job. All in all, performance is frustrating to say the least and for the amount of money iRobot is asking and the cost of consumables (bags, filters, etc) very poor value for the money. Great vacuum (good brushes, strong suction), LOUSY navigation. ... show more

  • It does a great job!
We purchased the 9s+, and while we've only had the Roomba in our home for 2 weeks, it has removed all the tedious work of vacuuming! We have a dog, but he has minimal shedding ... it's more what is tracked in from the outside. Roomba makes quick work of that. The mapping took a couple days and is still discovering new areas (wonderful). Setting up a cleaning schedule was a breeze and Roomba starts on time every time. We were challenged to figure out how to make it just do a room when needed, but sorted that out with Favorites. Now, if the dog drags in too much grass, I ask Roomba to clean it up. Now we're looking at the Braava to mop floors after Roomba vacuums! Update: We have had several "bin errors" that required support to resolve ... and I can't say enough good things about iRobot support. They actually know what they are doing, ask what you have already tried (so you don't have to repeat those steps), and are kind & courteous the entire call! Problem resolved and the Roomba is back to work! ... show more

  • Just don't let the Amazon return window run out
The media could not be loaded. UPDATE, 8/31/21: Im on my second replacement (3rd roomba). Within a few days, this one began exhibiting the same symptoms as the prior two, and is now showing new ones. Things have progressively gotten worse; the vac failed twice today, necessitating a reset each time. The last several jobs have seen the vac bouncing around as if inebriated, before getting stuck on thin air, or locking into a permanent "circle mode" - in all cases becoming completely unresponsive. I cleaned it up, hoping the problem was just dirty sensors, but saw no improvement. I put in a service request last week and just flat asked for a refund. They did not respond, so I just put in another one. Not holding my breath though. Others have had similar problems yet they keep selling the product and refuse to acknowledge or fix anything. Obviously, I can't tell you how to spend your money. If you feel the need to risk it with irobot, please at least watch for symptoms, and exercise a return before its too late. INITIAL REVIEW: So here's my disappointing story. After being impressed with an old, hand-me-down, Neato Botvac, I bit the bullet and purchased the flagship irobot roomba s9 with auto canister sucker technology. On day 1, while mapping the house, the roomba became unresponsive. It simply stopped moving in the middle of the bedroom floor, with the suction and side brush still running, completely stalled for no perceivable reason. I figured it was a fluke and learned how to reboot the vac and start it back over. Fast forward 1.5 months - I'm on my second roomba s9 (an irobot replacement) and it exhibits the very same behavior, multiple times, each week. I run the vac every day, and on about half the days it stops at some random location and just runs the battery down. During these seizures, the roomba is unresponsive from app or buttons, except that you can hold the clean button down for 20 seconds and it will slowly reboot. During these events, you can generally turn the vac over, pull out the canister - just about anything you want - with little complaint or response. Upon reboot, the roomba says it experienced an error code 15. Google and you'll find that I'm not the only one with this sort of problem. My home is well blanketed in wifi from a decent model netgear router placed centrally. So connectivity isn't the issue. I've tried the roomba on both 5g and 2.4g, with no alleviation of the problem. Support has suggested updating maps and factory resets. They are unfortunately regurgitating the site recommendations without regard to the facts of the case or consideration of the inconvenience of reconfiguring an irobot vac map. I made the mistake of allowing the Amazon return window to exhaust, hoping that we could work this out, but it doesn't look good. However, I will happily update this review if ever I get an acceptable/working solution. On the plus side - when the roomba works, it works very well. Suction is excellent, at the cost of noise (alot). The auto empty tech works well, and the rollers are nigh maintenance free (comparatively speaking) and easy to pull out. The bot moves slowly and takes forever, but does a good job on the 50% of days it doesn't completely freeze up and die on me, necessitating a complete job reset. Please see video. Several more where this came from. Good luck :) ... show more

  • Powerful suction but gets stuck more than less expensive models.
This is my second Roomba. The first one didn't have the dirt disposal system - which was my main gripe. This model is suppose to have MUCH more power which is seems to do. Downside to this is that my less powerful model considered my thick, high pile area rugs to be a no go area. The more powerful model goes there and gets stuck. The straight edge versus the completely circular older model doesn't seem to do as good of job in the corners - which is totally counter intuitive. It is VERY loud - over 80 Decibels. I'm also having trouble linking this model to my iPhone - no trouble with the older model. When I called robot for help and asked them about this large clicking noise (similar to cards attached to bike spokes but louder) they sent me replacement parts right away. But, it's brand new! My older model is quieter, seems to work better, was easy to sync with my phone and no hassle. This one is not worth 3X the price. ... show more
