  • Really an Impressive Gadget
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
I wasn't sure how well the Roomba would work. I especially wasn't sure how well it would "learn" a map of the house and be able to navigate it in a reasonable manner. I was impressed on both counts. The Roomba (this specific model, as I haven't had an earlier version) not only works really well from a vacuuming perspective, but it has done a remarkable job learning the house. Until I saw it working its way around legs on chairs, and under things like our bed, I really hadn't thought about how detailed the map would have to be. It's still learning after multiple runs, but it has become noticeably quicker in how well it moves from place to place. I originally thought that it's somewhat random patterns of navigation would continue, but as it has learned that has given way to a much smoother transition from relatively straight runs across the room to diving under furniture. We decided to move the base station after the map was mostly complete, and I thought it might get confused. Nope. It figured out where it was and returned to the base station to dump the vacuum and charge itself up. It's really pretty slick how well it tracks where it is, and can scoot back to the base station when it needs to. As for the vacuuming, we have two dogs, one of which is a retriever that sheds constantly, and two cats, one of which is a long-hair which leaves clumps of hair around randomly. We're constantly dealing with hair, tracked in dirt, and whatever cats leave on the floor occasionally. The Roomba has done a great job cleaning up after the endless tumbleweeds left by the dogs. I thought my wife would be annoyed by the noise (our only negative comment), but she's so happy with the floors that she's willing to work around that. The animals became oblivious to the Roomba within 15 minutes, and they now just stay out of its way. It's almost funny how oblivious they have become to it. As to the noise, yeah, it can be noisy, but it sort of blends into the background. You can turn down the suction of the thing, but then what's the point? All in all, very pleased with the performance. We're still not running the mop unit, as we're trying to sort out the best place to put it, but that will be for another installment. Right now I highly recommend...we'll see if it holds up. Minor Update, 6/24/2022: So far the Roomba is still doing a great job. I've started seeing a couple minor things that could use some work. First is the battery life. It seems to run well on the hardwood, but cleaning the bedroom, which is carpeted with a high pile carpet, really sucks the juice out of it. It will quit partway into the job and head home to dump the dirt and recharge. I would also like to see the controls moved to the cloud so that it could be managed remotely, or a couple people could manage it, i.e., my wife and me in this case. Maybe it has that flexibility and I haven't found it. On the plus side, the app let me know that I needed to service the brushes, which was a snap--they pop right out. This sort of reminder for a machine that generally operates autonomously is great, as it might be overlooked otherwise. Minor Update, 7/24/2022: As I mentioned before, the animals adapted to the Roomba very quickly. Today I watched our retriever not want to budge for the Roomba. So, it nudged its way around him, even nudging in between his spread out legs. I don't think it even touched the dog. While I realize that not all dogs will get this comfy with a gadget like this, after watching how the Roomba interacts with the animals, I'm even more sold on it. (I found one of the cats draped across the mop the other day while it was in the charging station. It seems these things have been assimilated into the pack of our critters.) Minor Update, 3/25/2023: The Roomba continues to perform well. It's still working as advertised in terms of cleaning. I thought I might mention that it does have one quirk a regular vacuum does not: It can get lost. We've had a couple times now where the Roomba has managed to lock itself into a bathroom. It was trying to get behind the door and managed to push the door closed. We only found it when we noticed it hadn't returned to the charging station. It has also managed to get itself stuck behind the sofa. After a while it finally gave up trying to escape and shut down. Fortunately, it let the app know that it was stuck and needed help. I had to use the "find" feature in the app to figure out where it had gone. These are not show stoppers at all, but they are different problems than you might have with a standard vacuum--none of which I have had have ever taken off and gotten themselves lost or trapped. Another Update, 1/6/2024, and my first critical comments: The Roomba is still working well, but after living with it, I do have a couple critical observations. 1. Comparing it to a regular vacuum, the Roomba is, honestly, more fragile. Vacuum cleaners are pretty simple devices--they suck up dirt. You either empty the canister or bag, and that's about it. The Roomba is more complex. The Roomba has sensors that detect when things are full of dirt (a plus, right?). Those can get dirty, and the Roomba may not want to launch until they've been cleaned. You actually have to manually clean the thing now and again. 2. The internal filter has to be replaced occasionally. The rollers and the edge brush wear out, and have to be replaced from time to time. which I mentioned above. The Roomba will let you know how much life you have left in these parts, but it's not just a "fire and forget" sort of device. 3. Also, because the Roomba takes off on its own, it can get lost or stuck. It's not a big deal, but it did manage to get itself stuck under a dresser, and had to be rescued. It does have a feature to locate it, so at least it's easy to find. So, do I still think it's a great gadget? Yes. That said, I sounded like a fan boy, and I thought it would be fair to show off a couple of its warts. Another update, 10/9/2024. This thing keeps plugging along. It runs daily, and other than the replaceable parts needing replacement, it still works fine. Regarding the replaceable parts, those are a requirement. The side and bottom roller brushes need routine--not constant but routine--replacement. Filters need to be replaced. I finally ran into an issue that might have thrown some people. The vacuum just quit and sat in the middle of the floor. I put it back in the charger and forgot it. A couple days later, it had not moved again. I tried a system reboot. No joy. I cleaned things up (all the sensors). Nope. It seems that some very fine dust had gotten into the contacts for the battery, and essentially killed this thing. I finally took it apart, pulled the battery out and blew any fine dust out with compressed air. Ta da! So, not a big deal, but I can see some users getting sick of the maintenance and calling it quits. My wife was already talking about getting another one if this one died, as she's that happy with the how it cleans up after the critters. Just something to be aware of. Note the date on this. This thing has run almost daily since getting it, and it continues to perform. In terms of durability, no complaints at all. And here we are again, 5/17/2026. The unit is just a couple days shy of four years old. It has run at least daily since being plugged in, and is still doing it's job. A glitch reared its head, and I thought this might be useful. This thing does run on a mix of hardware and software, unlike your normal vacuum. And software sometimes can get confused. I found the Roomba sitting in the middle of the living room, acting for all the world like it was having a mental breakdown. I tried rebooting it, which has worked for minor things in the past. Nothing. I finally pulled the bottom cover off (which is only held on with a set of small screws) and pulled the battery out. I gave it a few minutes to reset, and put it back together. Ta da! Working like it should be. As I've mentioned earlier, this thing is more fragile than a regular vacuum. You just have to be aware of that. If you don't mind giving it some TLC (e.g., changing the brushes and filters, cleaning the sensors, and even rebooting it with a total unplug), it will take care of your floors without much effort. I still recommend after four years. ... show more

  • A few tips to get you started in this review A few tips to get you started in this review
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
**Update** it has been over a year I purchased this bundle. I absolutely loved the way they worked. Just couldn't get them to communicate so mopping could automatically start once the vaccum finished. But no big deal for me. But my mop started having issues 2 weeks ago. I keep getting a message that it needs to reboot. I have done all I could to do this and also spoke to Irobot customer service for help. They told me it has a hardware issue. But since a year has passed the warranty is over and they will only give me $75 if I trade it in. I thought I had gotten the extended warranty but I guess I did not. This sucks because these are so expensive. Absolutely love this bundle! These little guys have freed up so much time for me. Tip 1) put all your chairs, plants, trash bin, and any other items that might be on the floor (shoes, toys) ontop of the countertop/table/ sofas when you do the mapping run for both robots. This will speed up the mapping run and will allow these little guys to understand your home layout better. Do one run with all the lights on and another in the day with just the light from your windows coming in. They don't do well in the dark. The noise the vacuum makes while vacuuming is not bad at all, just when it empties itself it sounds like a regular vacuum cleaner. I personally put all my stools, chairs and hampers up on the countertops when I have them clean, this way it's faster and you don't have to worry about them getting stuck anywhere while your gone. Tip 2) if you have a rug that has bumpy texture or tassels like mine does remove the little brush that spins on the vacuum because the brush can get damaged. I also pick up my bathroom rugs because the vacuum with the little brush on would have a hard time getting on the rug. What I did on the app I put a "keep out zone" for my living room rug and a "clean zone" as well. This way when it does the living room it will stay away from the rug and only go when I tell it to do the "clean zone" this way I can remove the brush. Tip 3) To do the Mapping Run for the mop make sure it has the DRY sweep pad on otherwise it won't do the run. The mop does recognize carpet so it doesn't spray near it. With the mop when I do the entire house I have to be home because it will run out of water, the water tank is small. I have about 1700 sq. Ft. of tile I have to refill 3 times. Sometimes I do a certain areas one day and another the next day when no one will be home. Maybe someday the mop will be able to refill on its own. Doing these things are no big deal compared to doing your own sweeping and mopping. Tip 4) wet the wet pad when you are ready to use the mop it cleans better that way. I doesn't have to be soaking wet just a bit wet. I somtimes use a spray bottle to do this. Remove the wet pad when it's done so the pad won't get stinky. I remove the wet pad, soak it in hot water with a little bit of detergent for a few minutes and lightly wash it with a cleaning brush and hang it with a clothes pin on a hanger. I do this because I don't want to just throw a little item into my washing machine or wash it with clothes. But they are washing machine safe. One thing I do have to complain about is that they come with very limited instructions. I had to Google a lot of information but I think I added some important info here on this review. I hope these tips help! Ps. I added a pic of my rug so you have an idea of the kind I'm talking about and also a pic of where I hang them to dry after I wash them. ... show more

  • Unreliable. Had high hopes for more
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
I really like iRobot as a company, and I've enjoyed using some of the earlier Roomba models. I finally decided to make an investment on a more advanced and automated solution. Every week that passes by makes me regret that more. I plan to update this with a more thorough review of all the features, but I wanted to record some of the more prominent issues I've had. Mapping: The mapping process went fairly well, but it does take some time to complete. In the meantime, you can't really control what areas the Roomba works on. Once the map is complete at you can section/name rooms, you can get a bit more targeted, though there are some reliability issues around this. Scheduled Jobs: I can count on one hand the number of time number of times our Roomba completed a schedule job correctly. Often, it just vacuums whatever room it feels like, no matter that it isn't included in the job. Other times, I've had it stop and tell me to empty the bin, even though it is supposed to go to the home base and empty itself. The remaining failures range from losing its way home or saying it needs a reboot. The few times we've had it pick up random objects and debris is partially our fault, but often it was in a room it wasn't supposed to vacuum that day. Navigation and maneuvering: The Roomba does fairly well getting around, though it can trap itself under office chair legs. The Braava is fairly worthless on the maneuvering aspect, as it cannot make its way through even the smallest of floor transitions. No real automation on that unit, as you must manually drop it in the room you want to clean. Noise: The Roomba is fairly loud, and it takes a long time to complete a room. A good thing to be aware of when scheduling. Overall, I'm not convinced this was worth the investment. I will keep working with the units, but it's not looking hopeful. I find myself canceling the scheduled jobs almost every time and sending it out on several jobs manually throughout the day. UPDATE 5/1/2021 I'd honestly give this 0 out of 5 stars if I could. The Roomba cannot complete one room without needing a reboot, and it often loses its history in the process. When I send it to a specific room, it always ignores the job and vacuums whatever it wants. I spend more time fighting with this machine than it would take for me to do the job myself. Complete and utter waste of money. UPDATE 12/4/2021 I ended up getting my vacuum replaced under warranty, and it is a world of difference. It is now consistently able to finish jobs without issue, and any alerts are legitimate. I guess my only complaint at this point is the noise level, but I wouldn't want to sacrifice its suction power. My dog would definitely still give the robot a low rating, but she also doesn't think any vacuuming is necessary. UPDATE 5/2/2024 Been using the vacuum for a few years now, and I've had to reduce my scoring significantly. The mopping unit is useless since it can't navigate even the smallest of room transitions. The vacuum often gets lost while still in clear view of its base. I've had it wander around in a room for 20 minutes that it wasn't even schedule to be in. The brushes and rollers also wear out far too quickly. I'm ready to replace it with something better. ... show more

  • Convenient cleaning, but not perfect for every setup
Style: Roomba J7+ & M6
I picked up the Roomba j7+ with the Braava m6 to help keep floors clean without constantly having to stay on top of it, and overall it does a pretty good job. The vacuum side works well for everyday dirt and dust, and the auto-empty feature is a huge convenience, it basically runs itself once everything is set up. The smart features are where it really stands out. It maps the house well and can avoid obstacles like cords and small items most of the time, which is a big deal for a robot vacuum . Being able to have it vacuum and then trigger the mop automatically is also a nice touch when it’s all working smoothly. That said, it’s not perfect. It can be a little slow getting through everything, and in my case it didn’t handle wires as well as expected, ended up getting into them and causing some issues. There are also some known complaints around mapping quirks and consistency depending on the setup . It’s still a solid system for keeping things clean day to day, especially if you don’t want to think about it much, but it does need a bit of attention depending on your layout. This is a convenient smart cleaning system that works well overall, but can be a little slow and not always great around cables. ... show more

  • Great value over time
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
Update: 9/15/2021 They are still going strong. Everything I said previously applies, and I'm just as satisfied if not more. Smart mapping is still problematic. The Roomba and Braava don't share maps. So each one has to create it's own map and you have to manage them separately. I have also ended up moving the base station a few times because of changes and remodeling I'm doing, and each time the map is completely lost and has to be re-learned. It doesn't really bother me because I just do clean all jobs and let it run until it's completely done. The other issue I've had which I don't think I can really blame on the roomba is that my bed has legs that are kind of an arc (sort of like a rainbow) from the mattress level to the floor. This creates "ramps" where the legs meet the floor. At least every other if not two out of three times the roomba will get stuck on the ramp. I wish it wouldn't, but I'm not going to get bent out of shape, I can see why it's a problem. I just close the bedroom door if I'm going to be out of the house and have it run unattended, and only vacuum the bedroom when I'm home to assist it if it becomes stuck. Original review: 12/20/2020 I purchased two of these. One was for me, and one for my mother. I am keeping mine, returned the one for my mother. I have a cat, and while it watches the roomba or just goes downstairs, it doesn't really bother the cat. My mother has a toy poodle that is terrified of the roomba and will hide for hours and leaves it shaking. I had to return hers because of this, not due to a functionality issue. If your pets are high strung, you might want to make a test run with someone else's if possible. Pro's: 1. Works like a charm. It has only been stuck once (hung up on curtains that were on the floor) 2. It took about three cleaning cycles to map the area. Once I did that, it cleans the floors while I'm at work and I come home to a clean house. 3. The app is easy to use. I can start a cleaning cycle while I'm away, and I get notifications on my app if there are any issues (Only useful if I am home to help, but still..) It was simple to set up. Download app, press two buttons on roomba, enter wi-fi password, and 2 minutes later you're done and ready to go. I couldn't ask for a better experience. 4. The app allows you to create zones in your house. You can do a clean all task or only do specific zones. You can also make no vacuum areas. Con's: 1. It is somewhat loud, and when the roomba returns to the base it starts a VERY loud fan/vacuum in the base that sucks debris out of the roomba itself for a minute or so. If you sleep lightly, don't expect to run it while you're napping. 2. I moved the roomba once to the other side of the living room. When I did, it lost the map of the house completely. It needed to re-map the floor from scratch. It didn't affect me too much because I hadn't customized the map or set up and named zones, but for someone who had, this could be very irritating. 3. Other reviews complain about roomba's breaking and having to be replaced, especially after the 1 year warranty runs out. Because of this, I purchased the Assurian 3 year warranty. If comparing cost, consider the additional cost of the warranty if you have similar concerns. 4. It leaves about an inch of uncleaned area around the roomba base. You will need to move them and clean around the bases periodically or if noticable. 5. It gets 95% of the dirt off your floor. You will still need to vacuum once a month or so to ensure you clean under furniture, around the roomba base, baseboards, corners, nooks, and crannies. This is in the cons section, but no other robotic vacuum avoids this and I don't see it as a knock against the product, just something that you will deal with when you use ANY of these vacuums. The roomba isn't the perfect set it and forget it robot. You need to tidy up before vacuuming by ensuring there isn't anything on the floor such as clothes/cloth, cables, or anything else that could get sucked into the roomba (be cautious of phone charging cables attached to a wall charger). I don't say this as a con, because it's not like you wouldn't have to do this if you were vacuuming manually, but other reviews complain about this. Be aware of the completely reasonable limitations. This does however somewhat limit the benefit of the app because you need to prep the area before setting the roomba loose. It limits your ability to just randomly set a job up when you're away from home. I'm not disappointed or upset about it, just a need to pre-plan. I also purchased the S9+ vs the S9 which comes with the cleaning tower for an additional $200. You can buy it either way so it doesn't affect the review per se, but I feel the cost is worth not having to perform maintenance on the roomba every time you vacuum. The time I will save vs manually vacuuming a couple of times a week (cat fur) is well worth it over time. I chose the S9 instead of the 7 because of it's filtration and better corner cleaning. The hepa-lite filter seems to make a difference with cat dander as well. Supplies aren't unreasonable and appear that they will not be an onerous cost. I have hardwood and tile floors and do not use it on carpets so I can't make a judgement as to performance on carpets. ... show more

  • It's a tank - really It's a tank - really
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
So, We had one of the original iRobots for a couple years now. We figured that we'd upgrade. I was a little concerned about the vacuum on our floors. The place is a single level, but it's all tile. We have a couple floor mats, they are 18"x30" so, we just pick them up when we remember. we're had them set up for about 2 weeks now. Just today, the "map" came on. I haven't tried to set a job for single areas yet. BTW, the app is pretty good. My wife uses it exclusively to turn things on and off. First, the good: The mop is pretty good. It's very quiet, it more-or-less maps and understands the rooms. I still haven't succeeded in getting it to map out one of the bathrooms. but overall, I'm pleased. I've only used it as a mop so far. It does, apparently sweep too. I'll try that soon. This morning we moved it to our balcony (about15'x30') then turned it on. It didn't like it. It spent about 7 minutes (according to the app's clock) running around, I think, trying to find home. Finally it just sat and pouted. Then at about the 10 minute mark, it sighed (virtually) and started mopping. There is a raised threshold (where the tracks for the patio doors are). it can't get over that. In fact, it can't climb over anything that looks like a bump. I've got some uneven tile in a bathroom. Probably about 1/16" ledge (maybe less). It bumps that ledge and turns around. So, definitely not a mop for uneven tile or most likely even for doorways that are raised. I do like that it really does the job. it mops well. it covers the room side to side, front to back. It uses overlapping laps so that nothing is missed. It's not like the old, "crazy pattern that you can't figure out" from the earlier models. Now for the vacuum. It's a tank. it's so powerful that it actually moves my furniture around. I've got 8 barstools in three different areas. It rearranges them each time. Remember my place is all tile. I think the sensor is turned down too low so it doesn't "feel" that it is running into things on tile. The first run (ever), it didn't vacuum very well. The app lets you turn up the suction - at the expense of the battery. We did that so now it's about ¾ of a day and 3 charges to vacuum our 3 BR, 2BA, 1600 sq ft condo. Not bad. And it vacuums well. But, here's bad: Since we don't live in the US, I bought the extra parts kit. I'm glad I did. There are two rollers on the bottom that "sweep" the dirt to the vacuum hole. This unit destroyed one of the rollers (the light green one) each time it ran. I've put some pictures here. you'll note the lines in the roller (going around the roller). They aren't supposed to be there. If I run it any more, I'm sure that it will cut the rollers in half. Each time the robot runs, it literally rubs the rollers smooth or rubs a groove in some place. I've got 3 of these rollers that each one has a line rubbed into it from just one job. Before you say "user error", we made sure that there was nothing on the floor that could get caught, get run over, or hook the vacuum. There's nothing in the area where the rollers sit. We never had that problem with our original irobot. In fact, I think the original rollers are still in it. (about 4 years) I suspect there's something about the sensors or the power settings when it is running on tile that's just not quite right. This thing is POWERFUL. It climbs up anything with a graduated edge. I've got an umbrella stand (1-1/2" base) and it walks right up it and doesn't learn not to do that. We've called the help line. They are sending out more rollers. I'm guessing that isn't going to solve anything. The other thing is the noise. It's not bad with a new roller in it (comparatively). It's still REAL loud. I wear hearing aids and I have to turn them off so the sound doesn't hurt my ears. And, I can tell exactly when the rollers are destroyed. It gets so loud that my wife and I can't talk when it's in the room. So, this isn't a "trash" the robot comment. We love iRobot. I just saw some comments about it being loud. Just thought I'd verify that. I'm hoping that my experience is unique. When it works, it's great. For a $1000 set, I expected a little more "set it and forget it". Maybe a tile floor just isn't it's thing... SInce we've got until the end of the month, I'm afraid it's going back. We'll probably order one more (and the extra parts again), and hope that it was a rogue machine. ... show more

  • A big daily help
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
Buy this if you need a little help. This has been a time saver for my busy house with pets. I use it once a day in my downstairs extremely high traffic area for the kids and dogs. Give yourself about a week to really learn how to best use because there is a learning curve for it and the buyer. Do not buy this if you think it's going to expertly clean your house for you! It is a helper, it will not get every nook and cranny, or large items/clumps. Battery life is not as good as I expected, but I have a large home. The battery has to recharge between each use/room, and occasionally while in clean everywhere mode. It will take itself back to the charger and then resume it's job. This is just a fact and not good or bad considering the size of my home and the way it works it's way through the house. Just for reference, battery lasts about 1.5hrs to 2hrs max and my home is over 3500sqft. Pro: great suction power, and the self empty canister is WORTH the extra money. This little guy picks up all the pet hair, toy stuffing, dirt, and dog food. I have only mapped one room, everything else I use the vacuums everywhere function. I take it upstairs 1-2xs a week and manually empty the bin as needed while it works upstairs. My dogs are scared of it! So they leave it alone and get out of it's way. I can start it remotely from the app. Cons: it is very loud, but no louder than a normal vacuum. It does get stuck or need help occasionally, so I only run it when I am home or will be home within the hour. This just saves me frustration of coming home to a job not done. The app will only work on a single phone. I haven't been successful with it's Alexa command, and I have several household items paired with my Alexa devices. ... show more

  • I'm loving it so far! I'm loving it so far!
Style: Roomba s9+ & M6 Mop
I've had these for the past month and a half now and feel confident enough to now write a review of my first thoughts. I'll update this again as time goes on. Where I came from: I've had a couple Neato vacuums for the past 8 years and got tired of having to replace batteries every few months and the constant getting stuck. I even replaced the control boards a couple times over the years. Sometimes it was getting stuck under or behind something and other times there was no reason for it. I went with Neato initially because it used logical back and forth rows to vacuum a room which was more efficient than the roomba's random appearing motion. With the advances that Roomba has made, it was time to give them a shot. As a technology geek, the software features attracted me as much as the hardware features. Auto mapping of a house, drawing exclusion zones, defining specific rooms or areas with names for use with home automation appeared to be great. I also love that the completion of vacuuming can trigger the mopping schedule. When I got the vacuum & mop, I did their auto-mapping of the house which turned out to be quite accurate. It did get stuck behind couches during this so was a bit cumbersome to monitor but after two runs with each, I had the bottom floor mapped out. The software guesses where rooms begin/end. This was pretty accurate and I only had to adjust a few things to get it just right. I created exclusion zones for behind the couches that it would get stuck or tangled up in cords to prevent that from happening and then linked it to my Amazon Alexa account. Next, I defined two small areas just to mess with people's heads. I called these two small areas, one in my kitchen and one in the family room, "this spot" and "that spot". I will stand in the kitchen in the area I defined as "this spot", which is also in front of the Echo Show, and state "Alexa, ask roomba to vacuum this spot", as I point down. This is just for show, of course, since the pointing and camera integration with echo is well beyond its level of capability. The vacuum will come out of its dock, make its way to the kitchen and vacuum that little area I defined and go back to the base. For the finale, I say "Alexa, ask roomba to vacuum that spot" as I point in the Family Room at the area I defined as "that spot". Again, the vacuum comes out of its base and diligently vacuums "that spot". People are impressed. ;) The vacuum works much better than the neato. The neato didn't have an edge brush so left the edges of rooms a bit dirty over time. The roomba edge brush works really well. As the vacuum transitions from hardwood floors to carpet, the suction motor intelligently ramps up to ensure it cleans carpets as effectively as on bare floors. Impressive! It also no longer makes what appears to be random movements but rather vacuums a room in rows just like the Neato did. Neato! The last pass through a room is around the edge with the edge brush to ensure very little is left on edges and in corners. And when it returns to the base station, it's sooo nice to not have to empty the vacuum every time as it empties itself now. I haven't been notified to change the bag in the base station yet which is nice as well. The mop is a different story. I read reviews where it was said that it didn't clean very well and didn't spray very evenly and was useless. So I was pleasantly surprised that it met all of my expectations. The level of cleaning is adjustable in the app based on how dirty you feel it is, which controls the amount of passes over an area and amount of cleaning fluid it uses. I have mine on the medium setting which works just fine for me in the kitchen to keep spots off the floor. When it runs out of fluid, it returns to the base station and notifies me in the app. Once refilled, it will pick back up where it left off to complete the cleaning job. How mine is set up: I defined my cleaning job to vacuum every room in the house, except one. After it vacuums, the braava jet is triggered to mop the kitchen. If I need the entryway mopped, I trigger it to clean that area manually using the app or by using Alexa to have it done. The photo attached shows the report after the vacuuming portion is done. There is a second, similar report for the mopping. The report shows my 'Keep out' zones by couches in my living room and the back door. The boxes it didn't clean scattered about are from furniture it had to go around. Improvements that could be made: 1. The level of cleaning on both the vacuum and mop are global settings meaning you set it and then all activities are using those settings. It would be nice to be able to adjust it by room or defined area. My kitchen needs more attention than my hallway with the mop. 2. I expected the braava jet to remind me to change pads, but it does not. I am currently using the single use pads and have never been told to change it even after a couple weeks of use. It does detect what kind of pad is being used so it is capable to doing this. 3. The noise level is higher than my Neato was. Not just from the vacuuming sound but rather from a vibration type sound. I wish it just sounded like a vacuum. ... show more
