I have to say that I am very impressed with the newest edition of Roomba. I have had my older Roomba vacuums for over 15 years, and the brand continues to improve with new features and durability that will continue to make this brand the king of robot vacuums. The vacuum is quite heavy, in fact nearly as heavy as my original Roombas from the 2010s (that still work great, by the way). The features of this vacuum versus the older vacuums though are endless. For starters, the sensors that detect objects work great (excluding small cords that are loose on your floor, or fabrics hanging from a chair [i.e. jackets or shirts]), avoiding each object with precise cleaning in and around it, and the bumper never touches the object - while the mopping arm reaches out to clean right around it thoroughly. My previous Roomba vacuums also would get stuck a ton, and I would have to reset them by moving them to a new position. Not the case with this Roomba, it has not gotten stuck one single time. You will learn (as the vacuum does) which cords should be better tucked away right after the Roomba's first cleaning, so it's a short process that's well worth 5 minutes of your time to move each cord out of Roomba's way. The first thing that the Roomba did after turning it on (requires charging first, insert it backwards into the dock) was map my entire house, which took about 2 hours. When mapping was finally finished, I charged the Roomba fully once more, and let it run the map cycle. I was astonished how thorough and quick the vacuum swept and mopped the entire house. The mopping feature works absolutely perfect, having two mop heads with one that reaches underneath objects with a protruding arm to ensure that areas are reached that the vacuum itself cannot. After the mop head dries off a bit partway through the cycle, the Roomba returns to the dock, cleans and refills both the cleaning solution and the water onto the mop head, and returns to the spot where it left off to begin again. The navigation created from the map is the most astonishing feature of this robot vacuum, which my daughter calls "an AI vacuum" as it seems to be very smart, and much less clumsy than a human while cleaning (and, in my case, does a better job, too). The vacuum is variable and adjusts to carpet, rugs, hardwood, and tile floors. It's very quiet, and if you work from home - it's barely noticeable to use during office hours. Overall, I could not be more happy with this vacuum. I expect it to last at least 15 years or more like my other Roombas have, and for the price of decades of sweeping and mopping - you can't really put a price tag on that. This without a doubt has to be the flagship Roomba offered by iRobot right now. It does everything that my previous S9+ and M6 combo did before, but better. It leads with the vacuum (smart design) and then follows with the mop in the rear. The mop will kick itself out on the right side to make sure that it covers all the way up to the edge, which is something my previously high-end M6 can't do. Excellent suction, home mapping, the mop pad even lifts to avoid getting carpet and rugs wet. This is totally a one-stop solution for floor cleaning, every function you would want is here. The iRobot app is my favorite of all of the robot vacuum software out there. The schedule building, home mapping, customization, and reports it generates are all intuitive and easy to use. Once docked, it even self-cleans and heat dries the mop pads which my M6 did not do. The best tactic to get setup as quickly as possible is to actually use the Mapping Run Only feature (leaves the vacuum and mop totally off while it runs around the house) as the first thing you do once it is powered up. Once you've let it do one complete cycle, you'll have a map that's maybe 90% accurate of your home. You can then continue to just use the device as normal and over the next two or three vacuum/mop runs, it will continue to update your maps until it is a perfect blueprint of your home. It took about two runs through the first floor to get the floor accurately mapped out, however once that was done I could flawlessly automate the vacuum and mopping every week. That is FAST compared to the S9+ and M6, probably because the new LIDAR can process so much more surface area at a time. The older vacuums just ran around the house and mapped based off of their own tracks, which took 4-5 runs before you got something that looked relatively close to what your home looks like. Noise level is very pleasant and definitely better/quieter than the Roomba S9+ I was using before. The vacuum noise is comparable to a high-dryer on the low setting, very tolerable, and the mop is nearly silent. The biggest negative is that there's now two apps if you have been in the Roomba ecosystem for awhile. iRobot is the old app and Roomba is the new one. Why they couldn't just keep the same app is beyond me and it's annoying to have to have another app taking up space on your phone and they're both so similar looking I forget which one is for which. Also, it doesn't perfectly clean the corners and only has a spinning brush on one side to feed into the main vacuum roller. I don't consider this egregious enough to remove a star, as every once in awhile I still like to do a manual deep cleaning with a vacuum and mop. My mindset with these devices is that they allow me to extend the time in between deep cleanings, not totally replace those chores with automation. This is $800 at the time of this review, which sounds like alot, but this is around half the price of the $1,400 S9+/M6 combo I bought 5 years ago. This is a fantastic upgrade to the robot vacuum/mop setup we had before. The iRobot Roomba Plus 575 Combo really does feel like a “set it and forget it” cleaning solution. We can leave for work and come home to clean floors without anyone in the house having to do one of those chores that nobody wants to do. What I really like about this model is the smaller, lower-profile design. At first, you might think making a robot vacuum smaller would be a disadvantage, but I actually think it's one of its biggest improvements. It's able to get under furniture and into spaces that our older, larger Roomba simply couldn't reach. iRobot says the 575 is 46% smaller than previous designs, and I can definitely appreciate the difference in how much more of the house it can get to. iRobot And this isn't just a vacuum. It's a true vacuum-and-mop combination that can handle both jobs, including automatically lifting the mop pads when it detects carpet. The mop pads also do more than just drag a damp cloth across the floor—they actually spin and scrub, which makes a noticeable difference on everyday messes. iRobot The AutoWash dock is another feature I really appreciate. It automatically empties the vacuum, washes the mop pads with hot water, and dries them with hot air, so there is very little hands-on work required. iRobot says the system can go for up to three months before the debris bag needs attention, which is pretty impressive. iRobot Navigation has also been excellent. The LiDAR mapping and obstacle avoidance allow it to work its way around furniture and everyday objects without needing us to constantly babysit it. Once everything is mapped and set up, it really does become something you don't have to think much about. For us, that's the biggest selling point. We leave for work, Roomba does its thing, and we come home to a cleaner house. That's a pretty good trade-off for a chore that nobody in our house enjoys. Overall, this is a really impressive all-in-one setup. The smaller profile, strong vacuuming, actual scrubbing mopping system, smart navigation, and self-cleaning dock make this feel like a significant step up from older robot vacuums we've owned. We have an old Roomba. Like ten years old, old. It has surprisingly worked OK for all of this time, but it's definitely worn out and takes a LONG time to do our downstairs, usually on the order of several hours for a light clean. I'll just come out with the verdict: this thing is AWESOME. I've been blown away with how much better the technology has gotten with this latest model. It can do my entire downstairs in about 1.5 hours and that INCLUDES vacuum and mop. It was super easy to get it out of the box, get it charged, and get it synced up and connected with the app. The first thing it asked to do was create a map of our house. I thought it was broken when it returned to the dock in less than ten minutes, but then it told us it was finished and sure enough, it had a completely accurate map done. The vacuum is not too loud and obtrusive but does a great job - even with our golden retriever and two Siberian cats creating mountains of hair every day. I'm able to take work calls in the background with no problem, as long as it's not directly in the room with me. It also seems to really clean out well at the dock because the dust chamber is virtually spotless. The mop side is also really good. I haven't used it with soap because I really haven't felt like I needed to yet. The water it pulls up off my LVP is absolutely vile though. I thought we did a pretty good job keeping things clean around here, but apparently not after letting this thing do some deep cleans. I also love how there's no need to change mop pads now because it can clean and dry its own pads after each run. Overall, if you are considering a remote robotic vacuum (and mop!), you absolutely should try this one. We love it, it keeps our floors so much cleaner, and it saves us a ton of time.
