    • Great vacuum, so easy to use!!
I have had this vacuum for a few days now and I am so impressed. It is so much more advanced and simple to use than my older vacuum. It was super simple to set up from the box and it mapped the entire first floor of my house in about 15 minutes. I love that you can section rooms off on the map, rename rooms, etc to get a super customizable clean. You can also designate heavy traffic areas and have Roomba clean just those areas. Once it started cleaning, I knew I was going to be very happy with it. It never gets stuck in tight spots and it has been able to continue cleaning without any issues every time I have ran it. The mopping feature is great also. It does everything 100% on its own. You just designate the area to mop and it takes care of everything else including keeping the mop pads clean during mopping and then thoroughly cleaning and drying them at the end. Finally, I love the customization available on the app. You can set up schedules with any combination of rooms and designate how deep of a clean to perform as well as if you want mopping and vacuuming, or just vacuuming.     • Exceeded my expectations — a huge upgrade from my last Roomba!
This is the second Roomba I’ve owned, and I was immediately impressed by the improvements. Even the packaging was thoughtfully designed, with intuitive unboxing and setup instructions printed right on the material — a small but very nice touch. The new modern look of the Roomba 405 is sleek, and it feels like a major step up. Initial mapping was lightning-fast (thanks to what I assume is the lidar), and getting it connected through the app was completely seamless. I also love how easily the mop pads snap on. One of my favorite features is being able to select which rooms to clean right from the app. Once it started, it vacuumed and mopped at the same time, smartly avoiding my rugs while mopping — a huge win. It even cleaned close to the walls, picking up dust without splashing water on the baseboards. The self-maintaining base is another standout. It allows the 405 to run for days without intervention and even cleans the mop heads on its own. Compared to other brands I’ve tried (where you constantly have to wash or handle dirty pads), this is a game changer. Overall, I was genuinely surprised by how well it mops, leaving floors spotless and taking care of drying the mop heads without me lifting a finger.     • Great first night, total failure by the next day
I really wanted to love this vacuum. The first night it worked great – vacuumed and mopped my floors just like advertised. But the next day it completely failed. After washing the mop pads, it couldn’t drain the dirty water, so all the water just stayed sitting in the tray. I tried everything: factory reset, cleaning the drain hose, cleaning all the trays, and still nothing worked. Ended up returning it in less than 24 hours.     • So far so good for the most part
I have been impressed by the upgraded mapping over my previous iRobot products and it seems to do a ok-enough job. I purchased to help more with routine maintenance than any type of deep cleaning. A big shedding dog and kids make daily vacuuming necessary. I have it set to clean about 1300ish sq ft and when it does, it takes for ever to complete. On a vac+mop normal clean it started at 10:22pm and didn’t finish until 7:13am, I’m presuming to charge. It feels like the battery life is short at best. However, vac only in the same space took 1 hour and 3 minutes. To add, the sweeper brush has become dislodged at least twice now in 5 days and yesterday it was filled so much the door and the roller completely came out mid-cycle. Finally, the automation seems to be lacking making it just enough to be a nice add but also just enough to be a pain. For example, I have it set to vac+mop alternating every other day with vac only, but I have no idea which day is which. C’mon iRobot, that should be easy to fix. ... show more

I’ve had robot vacuums before, but never a vacuum and mop combination—and wow, what a difference! As a wife, mom of two, dog mom, and business owner, I don’t have time to mop and vacuum every day. This machine has truly been a game-changer. Right out of the box, I was impressed. The packaging was smart and easy to navigate, with clear, step-by-step instructions that made setup feel completely foolproof. The mop pads snapped on effortlessly, and the app setup was seamless—even updating the software before its first run so I knew we were off to a great start. The water tank lids have a sturdy snap feature that prevents spills—perfect if you have kids helping out. Once it started cleaning, it vacuumed and mopped simultaneously. The most amazing part? It automatically avoided my rugs while mopping. It even cleaned impressively close to walls—just enough to grab dust without splashing water on the baseboards. When needed, it returned to the dock to recharge, clean the mop or refill and then picked up right where it left off. I also love that I can choose which rooms to clean through the app—it mapped my home beautifully, and the customization is a huge plus. This has honestly been one of the best purchases I’ve made for our home.
