I was skeptical when I bought the little Braava but bought it anyway because I needed help to do a better job than I had been doing. I wasn't expecting much from the Braava, though -- more "hoping" than "expecting". I bought it for my kitchen, which is large - about 300 sq. ft with white 12" tiles and white grout. (No, we didn't build it that way. We bought it that way. It is very pretty when kept up though so I can see why the original owner chose it.) We also live on an acreage in a rural area. We get dust because we live in a rural area with lots of farms. Keeping that white floor nice was a constant challenge. Until now. I don't plan to use the Braava to damp mop our wood floors because I clean them with a solution made especially for wood floors. I do dry mop the wood floors with the Braava though. I've been pleasantly surprised with how well the Braava is cleaning. I've only had her a couple of weeks but she is already a member of the family and I would feel a loss without her. My husband named her Mabel. Knowing she was coming, I carefully cleaned the floor before she got here, to give here a good start. I had cleaned my floor on my hands and knees with a steam cleaner because that was the only way I could clean the dirt from the grout. So with that preparation before she came, I was completely surprised at how dirty the cleaning pad was after her first clean. CLEANING GROUT: She moves easily across the grout and between tiles and does not get hung up. I thought that she might push dirt into the grout lines and make them look dirtier. That has definitely has not been the case. She seems to make those troublesome white grout lines look even better than I was doing them myself on my hands and knees. I'm very pleased with the cleaning of the white grout lines. SOLUTION: Although I saw on Amazon that a cleaning solution can be purchased, I've just been using tap water. The water alone seems quite adequate. Even so, I have been spritzing the floor lightly with a weak Pine-Sol solution because I like the clean smell. I am not feeling a need to purchase anything else. REPLACING A HUMAN: She does not totally replace a human, but she does an admirable job with a small amount of human care and assistance and has been keeping my white floor looking very nice. Actually, now I'm not sure I'll have to do much actual full-on mopping very often at all. It's a good idea to wipe up spills as they happen and before they dry though. She isn't very heavy so cannot scrub hard. She's really a damp mop, not a scrubber so if your floors are cluttered with "stuff" that would make it difficult for her to move around or if you neglect them regularly your experience might be different. RESERVOIR: I'm very glad I got the 380t because it comes with a water reservoir to keep the pad wet. I would have been less satisfied, I think, if the reservoir didn't come with her. That said, the reservoir keeps the cleaning pad nicely damp, even in my large kitchen.and on hot days. I've not used warm water for cleaning at all -- it seems silly in a small reservoir that will cool quickly. The cool water is working well. BATTERY: The fully charged battery cleans a l-o-n-g time. It really has lasted a full 2+ hours when damp mopping and 3+ hours when dust mopping. I was expecting the claim of a long charge to be hype but was wrong. I've very happy with how long a charge lasts. In fact, so far, it hasn't run out of enough charge to complete every task I've thrown at it NOISE: The Braava is so quiet you could put her to work in the bedroom of a light sleeper and it would not wake the sleeper. Sometimes I still check on her to be sure she's still working because I can't hear her. There is almost no noise at all. You can easily keep the television or radio at normal sound while she's working. DRY MOPPING: . Again, I am very pleased at the good job she does dry mopping my wood floors.. The Braava does not vacuum up the dirt but instead works like a dust mop. I was skeptical that it would be enough. She manages my cat's hair very well.. If you have debris on the floor, or the floor is badly cluttered with boxes, trash cans, and "stuff".she'll only be able to clean the areas she can reach and would probably leave paths around clutter she has to work around so you may be less happy with results. I have been equally as pleased with her dry mopping as with her damp mopping. In fact, I have a Neato I use for vacuuming. I had a Roomba but replaced it with a Neato. In my opinion I don't think there is any comparison - the Neato has it hands down, so I wasn't at all sure I'd be happy with the Braava because it's also an iRobot. As it turns out, I like the Braava better on my wood floors than I do the Neato. Again, I have been surprised. My Neato is wonderful on carpets though -- I wouldn't trade it. But now that I have used the Braava on my hardwood floors, I prefer using it there. CLEANING PADS: Two cleaning pads come with the Braava. A white one for dust mopping and a blue one for damp mopping. They are very different from each other and really have been designed for different uses. The white cloth is very soft, something like what a baby would be if flannel and silk had a child and is without nubbies. The blue cloth has nubbies, almost like small kind-of stiff chenille fingers for cleaning. Initially I thought I would just use Swiffer cloths, or my own microfiber towels. After using the ones that came with my Braava, I've changed my mind. It's a matter of size and holding strips in the right places. The cloths that came do a very good job and adhere well. I'll be using the cloths that came with the Braava and will be a few buying extras. OUT OF THE BOX: The instructions were easy to follow and there was very little setup. She even came fully charged so, eager as I was to try her out, I could put her right to work.. WALL EDGES: She cleans wall edges from an angle, rather than following straight along the wall. This is an area I think could be improved but for the most part it's good enough. The cleaning cloths are just enough wider than the pads, allowing them flex, that that they actually clean edges quite well.. FLOOR MAPPING: She cleans using short back-and-forth motions, slightly angled right one pass and slightly to the left on the next pass much as we might do if we were pushing a mop. Her movements around the room seem a little random and she seems to jump around the room, some, as she cleans. So far I haven't decided if she really goes back to missed areas, but she does it well enough that I can't tell for sure unless I'm watching a whole cycle. I've not watched long enough yet to know for sure. PROBLEMS I'VE HAD: One problem I've encountered is that places under my cupboards are not equal distance from the floor in all places. There are 3 places under my cupboards where she gets stuck. When this happens, she sits and waits patiently for me and does not call for help so I have to discover her since she's so quiet I don't hear her cleaning. I haven't decided how to manage this problem yet. I'm thinking of getting hard sponge from the packing store, cutting it to size, and placing them strategically so she can't try to clean in the toe plate where she'll get stuck. The other problem I've encountered is that there isn't quite enough elevation between the carpet in the dining room and the wood floor so she goes part way onto my very light-colored carpet with her soiled dust cloth. I don't like that. So far she'll only go a short distance (a few inches) and turns around and comes back to the wood floor. SUMMARY: I very happy with my little Braava 380t and can easily recommend it. It has made my life easier, is keeping my floors shining, and was a good purchase. I'd do it again.

This was a bit of a disappointment after owning and loving our Roomba for a long time. I've had this about 6 weeks and would have returned it had it not been such a hassle to do so. It's super quiet, yes... But I wouldn't expect something that's basically just wiping a damp towel across the floor to make a lot of noise. I would however expect that if I am using a robotic device to clean, it can do so without constant intervention on my part - similar to the Roomba. But this is not a "let it do its thing and presto - your floors are clean!" type situation. First, you have to charge it, loading it manually on and off the charger (unlike Roomba which docks itself and charges automatically). Then you fill a tiny, cumbersome reservoir with water and attach a swiffer-like-mopping cloth. Then you set up a GPS cube (also needs batteries) in the room you want mopped. Then you put it down and press the mop button and watch it start to move in a 2 rolls forward, 1 roll backward motion. Okay, now you can let it work it's magic, right? Wrong! 20 mins later and halfway through my kitchen, it's out of water. Remove and refill tank and rinse the mopping pad, replace both on the unit, and start again. Watch for a minute and realize it doesn't seem to have any recall of where it was just working, so it begins to tackle the same area. Stop, pick up, move unit, start again. Trusting again that it's good to go, walk away only to hear the beeping alert noise 20 mins later to tell me the battery is dead... And my kitchen is still halfway mopped. Remove wet pad, remove water tank, put back on charger, wash pad, refill tank and try again 2 hours later. Literally rinse and repeat for the 10-12 hours it took to mop my whole first floor. Very frustrating process which requires more time intervening and managing this thing, than you would probably spend just running a quick Swiffer mop over your floor. Perhaps if you have a very small house with maybe 1 room of tile, this could work. But in a large room or, even worse, a multi-room cleaning situation, forget it. I really don't think it saves any time and requires entirely too much attention to make it worth it. UPDATE: Two weeks and maybe 4 uses later, this thing has proven itself even more useless - which I didn't think was possible. Now it can't seem to properly connect to the GPS cube, no matter how many different angles/positions I try. It just rolls backwards into a wall and then errors out. I even tried it in a bathroom - much smaller simpler space than my kitchen/great room - and even there it mopped one line and then starts spinning in circles until it errors out. It's completely useless and I'm about ready to toss it in the trash! Beyond frustrating and a total waste!

This was one of many roomba products I have. I actually have four roombas on schedulers that vacuum the house on Tues/Thurs/Sunday. This little guy is a very welcome addition to our home. First of all - my wife and I are very busy and have three kids and host people at our house regularly for church events or just for fun. I am amazed my wife can get the laundry, dishes, all the errands she does and also teach the kids. With my work, trying to do things with our church, and spending time with kids and wife, it was really hard for either of us to get around to dusting, mopping and vacuuming as much as we should. I made the move and bought some Roombas on ebay. I also bought this mop on Amazon and have never regretted it. First of all the unit is easy. You simply decide if you're wet mopping or dry dusting. I vacuum before I mop so I just let the roombas do their thing then I block off an area such as my dining room to mop with this unit. Then we get the reservoir attachment, add some water and a little swifter solution to the reservoir, a wet swifter pad and set it on the floor. I turn on the transmitter cube, and hit the water button for wet mop and it does the rest. I recommend placing the swifter so the green scratchy part is on the front just under the reservoir at the edge. That way you are lifting up all the tough spots and then hitting it with the microfiber after. This does an amazing job, the floors are shiny and nice, and the room smells great. (it helps if you really like the smell of the swifter) Honestly with all the dust and stuff the roombas pick up and then the really dirty pad that comes back on this guy we feel the house so much cleaner. Actually looking at all the dust and dirt and dirty swifter pad makes us feel a little like we were living like animals before! (just something we joke about now) It really is astounding how much dust and dirt can build up in your house - especially with three kids. I would never have the time to vacuum and swifter my house every day but now I don't have to worry about that. I love to run the vacuums before and and the vacuums followed by this little guy right after a party. Nothing like getting the dishes washed and other things done while something else is doing all the mopping. We also love to put on a clean wet swifter and send it into the kids bathroom. It goes where no man one wants to go and gets it all clean and smelling amazing. We have tile floors throughout the house so we just let do a room at a time and come back to throw away the pad. It does several rooms on a charge depending on the size of the room and the recharge is quite quick. You could a large home in a day at a couple of intervals while you're doing other things. One time I came back from a trip to get some work done and my wife wasn't home for a couple of days. When she came back the place was spotless. (I have to confess all I did was change pads, recharge, and hit go for most of it.) Pros: - Set and forget it. Prep the room (pick up throw rugs, toys, or anything you would normally move out of the way for vacuuming), turn it on, leave. - You can even run it at night - it is whisper quiet and won't leak even after it is finished and sitting in the same place for a while. We sometimes start it cleaning in the dining room while we sleep. - Works with swifter wet or dry pads (can also use reusable pads) - No need for floor cleaning chemicals - if you like wet swifters as much as we do - then you can use that but you could just do your own thing - like vinegar or whatever you want. - Wet reservoir keeps the pad moist the whole time (try sneaking a little swifter solution in there) - battery lasts a really long time and can do a large area - charges quickly and is very easy to setup, maintain, and use daily - quality build and good support - can be used to dust really large area and can jump from one base unit to the next if you purchase a second (I got one but hardly need it - I say wait to buy the second to see if you really need it) - does a great job - better than you would if you had to do this every day! (I just think I would lose the enthusiasm to "Edge" the room after I swifter each time. - at the end of the job it will "edge" the space - when the device is nearly done it will send off a tone - then return where it started and sound off a final musical tone. Love it. Cons: - navigation system has no way to "contain" it to one room. You need to shut the door, lay a chair in the floor, or use some other method to block it. We put our old swifter broom across an open entryway to block it into our kitchen. Seems a bit odd that such an amazing device can't work with infrared "walls". - doesn't work well with throw rugs. will drive up on thinner throw rugs. - you need to prep the room. just like vacuuming you need to get all the junk off the floor. This isn't really a con as you would have to do this no matter what but some people may have some vision that the mop has a robot arm and will straighten your house as well. Nope - it's job is to swifter or dust and it does it well. - This is not an industrial mop - if you need that - get a different device like a scooba. We use this regularly and have found we don't even need to mop if we swifter regularly. You need to be the judge. little sticky drips from my two year old are not a problem but if my boys didn't listen and laid down a mud track through the house - I'd make them clean it and then send in the robot mop after to sanitize it. My wife was against me buying this but I was barely able to convince her. She's not into electronics but even she loves it now and uses it regularly. If you're thinking about buying it -definitely get the black one - longer battery, quicker charge, and reservoir pad makes huge difference. Great buy. highly recommended.

We've owned the Braava 380t for exactly a week. With the expectation that this will *maintain* clean floors, and not scrub them clean for you, I am very happy with how this product performs. If you're wondering how well this will work on your floors, go use a Swiffer mop and you'll have your answer. The benefit of this robot is that you don't have to be the one pushing the Swiffer around! We have a 1200 sq ft house and the entire first level is hard wood, with the exception of the kitchen and bathroom, which have ceramic tile. We also have 2 cats, a dog, a 2 year old, and an 8 month old. To properly clean our floors (before this robot) would take nearly an hour of my time and it had to be completed daily in order to keep up with all the hair. That's not easy to manage with 2 little ones needing constant attention. Once I had swept/swiffered/mopped there was still so much hair lying around in random places that I could pick up the baby off the living room floor and it looked like he'd just wrestled with one of the cats. So I decided to splurge and give this a try. Serious life changer!! I've been using a dry sweep during the kids nap time (the machine is super quiet so this is perfect!) and running a longer mop cycle every night after they've gone to bed. The difference in our floors is amazing. I can walk across them barefoot and not feel the grit that was there before, even when I had just swept. So now my floors are being cleaned twice a day and it takes me about 30 seconds to move the machine and push a button. I can use the hour I was spending cleaning floors on something else. I think the major difference is that the machine has a lower profile. When I use the swiffer, my body movement causes the dust and hair to fly away like little tumbleweeds, you only catch up to them at random, and only if it was part of the floor you hadn't swept yet. The robot moves slowly enough that it doesn't push the hair away as it moves. So it's like swiffering, but better. I spent the extra money and purchased this model over the 320 for 2 features: the liquid reservoir that is used during mopping and the rapid charging dock. The reservoir is large enough that I can fill it once and mop all of our first level (with my moving it room to room as it finishes) and not run out of liquid. It also doesn't soak the floor so it dries very quickly as it finishes a section. The charging dock is great also, but I wish they would have done 2 things differently to improve the machine. First, place the handle on the robot on a different side than the charging contacts. It makes it awkward to pick up off the base, because the robot is sitting on its handle. Secondly, I wish they would have extended the base as a place to keep the cleaning pads. There are 2 mop heads, one for dry and one for wet. If they had extended the base just slightly, a slot could easily be made to keep the heads right next to the machine. There is a review of this machine on CNET that basically says it's a good robot, but then bashes it because you have to physically pick up the robot to start it, pick it up again when it finishes, and there are no options to set a cleaning schedule and have it automatically performed. I strongly disagree with that review. Here's why: For each of our rooms there is a slight difference in height. The transitions between the rooms act as a physical barrier for the robot. Even if I had the extra cubes to guide the robot to continue cleaning room to room they wouldn't work in our situation. I would still need to pick up the robot, place it in a start position and push the start button because it can't go over the transitions. Secondly, our day to day schedule is not the same. I stay home with the kids so we don't have an empty house at a regular time. Some days the kids might go to bed at 6, other days 9, so there also isn't a convenient time for us to set a schedule where we regularly *know* we won't be occupying the rooms being swept. Basically, I do not miss the features that the other reviewer complained about. There are 2 reasons I gave this a 4 star review instead of 5. First, Price. No matter how much I like it, I still think this is a pretty spendy machine. Second, Accessories. The robot comes with one microfiber dry sweeping cloth, and 1 microfiber wet mopping cloth. You can easily use something else for the dry cloths because like the swiffer, there are slots to push the pad into and hold it in place. The wet pad uses velcro, but it is on top of the cleaning head, so you need a cleaning pad that will wrap around the head and is exactly the right size in order to hold it secure. Basically, you need to buy more wet mopping pads separately and it's $15-$20 for a pack of 3.

I was quite skeptical at how useful this would actually be. After reading lots of feedback I decided to take a chance and find out for myself. Maybe because I had quite low expectations to begin with this review might put this on a pedestal, but I'll try to keep it realistic. I have 2 young children so our kitchen floor pretty much has to be swiftered every couple of days or it gets noticeably dirty. Our kitchen is tiled and has a center island. There is quite a bit of floor space between our kitchen and living room with the dining table in the middle. I purchased the 380t hoping it would do what others have claimed in their reviews. I have been quite surprised how well it actually works. At the time of this review I have had the 380t clean the floor a total of 7 times so far. I'll update this review should any of my experience change in the future. EXPECTATIONS: First let me say that if you are buying this and expecting your floors to be scrubbed then look elsewhere. This isn't what this device does. WHAT IT DOES: It will push around a dusting cloth or it will push around a web fiber cloth. I can't see myself ever using the dry mode, but if you had hardwood floors that got dusty this would do the trick. The 'wet' mode is the real benefit of the 380t. The best way I can compare what it does is this. Take a dish cloth, get it wet and wring it out, then wipe your floor with it, notice how clean the floor is after you do that. This is essentially what the 380t will do and how clean it will make your floor. Image it taking that wet dish cloth and wiping down your entire kitchen floor with it, that's what you can expect out of the 380t. It won't get anything off the floor that requires a little elbow grease. Like say a small bit of jam that has dried on the floor. It will mop up a dried apple juice stain without problem though. HOW IT WORKS: It comes with a micro fiber cloth that you attach to a water tank and snap onto the bottom of the unit. If you know how to put a swifter pad on a mop then you know how to use this. Set up to use the 380t takes about 3-4 mins total. You simply fill the tank with water, wrap the cloth around the bottom of the tank then attach it to the main unit. Set it on the floor then hit the power button (which will automatically turn on the nav cube as well), then you just hit the mop button and away it goes. It finds it's away around by using the nav cube as a point of reference and creates a digital map in it's memory of what the floor plan looks like. Because the cloth is slightly larger than the base of the unit it will have no problems cleaning the floor right up the edge of the base boards. In fact, once the unit figures out where any straight walls are it will make a pass along the wall with the cloth pushed right up against the wall. It has absolutely no problems getting around a dining room table and chairs either. If your chairs don't have decorative bottoms between the legs of the chairs then the 380t will get under the chairs as well. Personally I prefer to move my chairs just like I would do if I was going to mop the floor myself but I have ran the 380th with the chairs at my dining table and it had no problems getting around them and still getting under the table itself. I move the chairs as it speeds up the amount of time it takes the 380t to get that area, if you don't move your chairs it has to figure out how to move around all the legs on the floor which takes more time. My tile area goes right into a carpeted living room and the 380t can tell when it hits the carpeted area, It stops moving forward when it senses it's on carpet and then moves back, it doesn't take it long to figure out where the edge of the tile is and adjusts it's paths pretty quickly. HOW WELL DOES IT CLEAN: As I said above this doesn't scrub your floors, it does however clean up the floors quite nicely using just water. It also doesn't use very much water, in fact the floor where the 380t has been will be completely dry within a couple of minutes. My kitchen floor never takes long to get messy, I live in Florida and 99% of the time everyone in the house in their bare feet, meaning that the tile quickly has a smudged look to it. After the 380t cleans the floor it looks like I've manually mopped it. It doesn't leave any streaks or track marks. Some random bits of advice: - wet the cloth and wring it out before you attach it to the tank, it needs to start with a damp cloth - don't wrap the cloth too tightly around the tank, doing so will prevent it from attaching correctly to the robot even though you think it's attached, the robot will either give you an error or will behave very strangely when it begins. - you'll be surprised at how dirty the cloth is when it finishes, I know from past experience that it's best to just wash the cloth out with warm water under the tap as opposed to putting it in the washer, also just it air dry. - don't freak out if you don't see the robot connect to the cube the moment you tell it to mop the floor. It sometimes will take it as long as 30 seconds to make a connection. Just let it carry on, if it goes past a minute then there's probably something interfering. So far I am pretty impressed at how well this little robot works, it certainly surpassed the expectations I had. I'm glad that I don't have to wet swifter the floor every second day now, that's a job this takes care of. I'll still have to give the floors the occasional manual scrub down but the 380t has no problems keeping the kitchen floor quite clean, all I have to do is vacuum the crumbs up first and let it do it's job. If you're on the edge of getting one I'd say the plunge is worth it. I'm so impressed that I'm certain that I will be picking up a vacuum robot as well in the near future.

First combo robot for us, and the results so far are meh. We have 2 heavy shedding dogs and 2 cats, so we decided to upgrade when our old roomba died. Install was quick and painless and the first few weeks were without issue. Then she started getting “stuck” in the middle of the floor and would turn circles until the battery died. Complete reset seemed to lessen this occurrence, but the mop system has issues now and despite cleaning and following the directions in the app, there are still errors. We were also surprised to discover this model didn’t have the poo guarantee like our previous model after we came home to a mess smeared through the house one day. When working, it does a good job, but way too unreliable at this price point. Also, I recommend dumping the waste water as soon as possible after mopping. It is fairly concentrated and does not take long to stink up the house.

QUICK READ TIPS FOR A "MOODY" BRAAVA: If your Braava is being a moonwalking, pirouetting weirdo that won't connect to its navigator cube, here are some tips I've figured out through trial and error (disclaimer: some may be complete voodoo, but by using these, I have not failed to get my Braava to work. YET.): 1) The microfiber cloths included with the Braava 380t are crap. As soon as they get wet or stretch, they create too much slack, and for some reason, any slack in the cleaning cloth gets the Braava all verklempt and frenzied to the point that it refuses to sync with the navigator cube (even though the cube is indicating it's synced!). I use Buff Pro Multi-Surface Microfiber Towel - 12 Pack | Premium Cleaning Cloth | Clean, Dust, Polish, Absorb | Small 12"x12" (Blue) and fold the excess under the velcro, so it's not hanging into the middle channel, which is a NO-NO per its manual (although I've done it and haven't had any problems). This fixed 80% of my issues. 2) The Braava likes the fill tank oriented so that the "Fill Cap" is in the front. I don't know why, it just does; well, at least MINE does. 3) If the Braava still won't connect to the Navigation cube, I make sure that the part of the cube with the blue light is overhanging the table just a bit. They definitely like to be able to "see" each other, regardless of how the manual says it works. 4) If you have a large TV running at the same time, it seems to interfere with the navigation system (which is mentioned in the manual). I've noticed that's sort of hit or miss, but if my Braava is being wonky, I'll turn my TV off, just in case. 5) ALWAYS turn on the navigation cube first, then the Braava. Mine doesn't connect otherwise. If you want to move it to a different location, you'd THINK you could just move them both together while still paired, but you CANNOT. You have to go through the rigamarole of turning them both off, performing your voodoo rituals, and pray they pair again. Some "CHEATS" I've figured out, which may go against the manual (use at your own risk): 1) Instead of using more expensive disposable cleaning cloths specifically sold for floors, I have successfully used Medline Disposable Dry Cleansing Cloth Wipe, 500 Count for sweeping mode. They work acceptably in mopping mode, if you're desperate. They are approximately 4 cents each, which is MASSIVELY cheaper than Swiffer or other similar products. 2) The only "approved" floor cleaners for the mopping reservoir are water, Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner, Clorox Ready Mop, and iRobot/Scooba Hard Floor Cleaner. I've successfully used many different kinds of floor cleaner that are similar to both Bona and Clorox. However, I just bought a bunch of Swiffer WetJet Multi-Purpose Floor and Hardwood Cleaner Solution Refills, which are MUCH cheaper than buying the recommended cleaners. The only problem I had was trying to open the refill bottles (they are supposed to be punctured by the Swiffer WetJet mop), but they twist off with enough force. The Braava Pro-Clean Reservoir isn't rocket science; there's a cheap wick (which is easily replaceable and is an eventuality anyway) and a small air hole. Unless you're using some highly corrosive chemical that will disintegrate the plastic reservoir or your floors, or a cleaner that is oily/waxy, sticky, or viscous, the worst problem you will likely encounter is having to replace the wick or unclogging the air hole. As long as the floor cleaner has a similar density and flow to the recommended cleaners, and is approved for your type of floors, I personally would use it (but again, do this at your own risk). ***ACTUAL REVIEW***: This is probably a 3.5 star product (I'm averaging the daily mood swings it gives me!). I fluctuate from swearing at it and wanting to throw it out a window, to singing its praises and loving the help it provides me. I have had some sort of Roomba product ever since the company's inception. Most products have been okay, nothing spectacular, and nothing I continued to use on a daily basis; I even had a Scooba. This all changed with my Roomba 650. I have had this thing for years, and I LOVE it and happily use it on a daily basis. It's a workhorse, and rarely needs "help" during its run-time. Every day, I am thrilled by the volume of dirt it picks up in one run! That's why I purchased the Braava 380t. I have two young, very filthy boys running wild, and I have to mop AT LEAST daily, which I hate. Even if just ONE room could get mopped without me, I figured the purchase would be worth it. Right out of the box, it worked wonderfully. I had no problems connecting to the navigator cube, and it cleaned my living room's hardwood floors without ONE alarm. I was ecstatic! Then I tried it the next day. It refused to connect to the navigator cube well over 10 times. It kept doing some weird backwards "moonwalk" with some pirouettes thrown in. The problem was that I had changed nothing from the day before! It had charged overnight, it had a fresh microfiber towel, a filled tank, and the navigator cube hadn't moved. I reattached the tank and the towel each and every time I turned the system back on, I tried to get the navigator cube as close as possible to the Braava, I cleaned the GPS receiver window, I reset it multiple times-- basically everything the manual recommended and I could think of, but after well over an hour of messing with this thing I was angry and finished fiddling with it. I changed the batteries on the navigator (JUST IN CASE!), and put the Braava on the charger again for the next day. And the next day it did the same thing, to the point I was going to just return it, but I DID get a great deal on it, so I refused to be defeated so easily. There are some tips I have listed above that have solved probably 98% of my problems, but the Braava is still a temperamental, fickle product. It's basically a robot cat! The hoops I have needed to jump through to make the Braava work on a day to day basis have been undoubtedly ridiculous, however, once it actually gets going, it USUALLY goes until the cleaning cycle is finished. Sometimes it just stops mid-cycle and alarms, I guess just because? I haven't figured out a reason for this problem yet. When it does decide to work, it's so wonderful to be left with nicely cleaned floors that you didn't have to mop yourself. Will I continue this daily war with the Braava? Not if I encounter one more obstacle with it. Right now, I can tolerate our daily battle. Just barely.

My trusty Scooba finally gave in, more or less out of old age since we've had it for years. I'm sure I could have spent time and money troubleshooting what the problem was, but instead I went online to see, since it has been so many years, if a newer and more advanced version of Scooba had come out on the market. I found the Braava 380t Robot Mop, which instantly seemed like an attractive option to me. Seeing as we had such wonderful experience with Scooba, I decided it would be worth it to invest in its newest cousin. I'm extremely happy with my decision!! At this moment, I'm watching the Braava run around, mopping my floor. It is so quiet, I have to get up and make sure it is still running (because the Scooba, bless its hardworking soul, was not very quiet). After about 3 hours of washing, it is still running. (Yep, I too was curious about how long a charge would last..... as of right now, I know there's plenty of charge to clean my entire house if needed). I am loving the Braava!! Issues I had with the Scooba have been fixed. First of all, it's square. Yay. That means even corners will be clean now. Love the GPS cube and that the Braava returns to starting point after finishing cleaning so I don't have to run around and look for it. Also, the fact that it doesn't make any noise,I'm sure I'll stop getting up to check on it once I get used to it ;) The sweeping function is also great because now I can send it around and sweep up dust and hair before starting the wash. The mopping cloth that it came with is great, and I love that I can also use the swiffer pads with it, or any other mopping cloth really. I will be ordering additional cloths for the Braava however, just to have some in stock. So far i've experimented a little, at first I sprayed the floor with cleaning fluid and filled the Braava tank with water only. That worked really well. Then I filled some Clorox soap (the same one I used with Scooba -- since that was good enough for Scooba, it would also work well with the Braava) with the water, and that also works great. I don't want to use much soap with the tank, as I don't want it clogging up,so I think more the most part. spraying the cloth or the floor a little with disinfectant before mopping would do the trick. If there is a little extra heavy grime on the floor, that's when I'll be using a little soap in the tank. I think this is an awesome replacement for Scooba. Great for general, everyday maintenance of the floors. Once in awhile you may want to do a good wash around the house yourself, but for the most part, we've been using Scooba, and now Braava, to keep the floors clean on the average day and it does the job just fine. Now, I like my house clean, but I'm not a super neat freak. If you are (and there's nothing wrong with that!), although Braava does keep the floors nice and clean, then you may not be as happy with Braava as I am :)
