I bought this set to replace two older cameras on my Nest Camera set. I was not able to add it to my Nest Account. It required me to download the Google Home App and load them there. Note: I had to turn off all of my Nest cameras so that I could load the two new ones. Afterwards I turned the others back on. I was really concerned, I did not want to have to jump back and forth between two apps to see all of my cameras, but it all worked out, I can see all of them on the Google Home app by clicking on the camera icon in the header of the app. One note to make the cable lead on the camera is really short, maybe a foot long at the most. It connects to a much longer cable that plugs into the electrical outlet. This was a bit of an issue for me. I place the camera outside and run the cable through the wall and plug it in, inside the garage, I have hardly any slack to maneuver the camera to get an ideal view of the area I am monitoring. All OK in the end, I have a decent view of the area and setting up the camera on the Google Home App was pretty easy. ... show more

Easy to install and set up. I recieve alerts when someone pulls into my driveway and large parking area in front of our barn garage and front of tge house.you can zoom in when watching the videos and speak to the person who pulled in. I've purchased a second one to put on the back of the house

    • Great Cameras, But One Keeps Randomly Shutting Off

I really like these cameras overall. The design looks great, the video quality is excellent, and they were very easy to install. I have multiple Nest cameras around my home, and they have done a great job for security and monitoring. The only issue I've experienced is that one of the cameras recently started shutting off on its own. I've checked the wiring and confirmed that power is still reaching the camera, but for some reason it will not turn back on unless I physically disconnect it from the power source and plug it back in. This has become frustrating because I have to get a ladder, climb up, disconnect it, and reconnect it every time it happens. The other camera continues to work perfectly, so the issue seems isolated to this specific unit. Aside from that problem, I am very happy with the Nest ecosystem and the overall performance of these cameras. If Google can address this issue, they would easily be a 5-star product for me. For now, I'm giving them 4 out of 5 stars. ... show more

I have a variety of different Nest cameras around the house. I like this gen 2 model because the improvement over the outdoor gen 1 model's video quality is obvious, at least to me. I love Google's 24/7 recording for 10 days with the optional "advanced" plan because even if the camera didn't pick up motion, you can still go back and review what happened at any point in time for 10 days, with 60 days of event recordings. I also love the new AI features that can identify people, animals, and what they were doing in each recording. For example, "rabbit hopping in the yard", "five deer roaming on the front lawn", and "someone entering the shed holding a shovel" are just some of the descriptions I have received. And the daily summary with the AI feature is amazing. These cameras are great if you love being in the Google ecosystem. They are easy to set up in the Google Home app and their wi-fi signal has been rock solid for me. Near perfection, I just wish they went to 4K this time. ... show more
