The fact that Roomba can empty his own dustbin and then go right on back to cleaning is a game changer in my opinion (we started referring to the self-emptying feature as ‘goin potty like a good boy!!’ so our 100lb Doberman knows Roomba is a friend, not a scary bad guy). And if you’re already upset I’ve gendered Roomba as he/him, it’s probably best for you to move on to a different review—No disrespect intended whatsoever— it’s just that in our house, for whatever reason, Roomba’s a boy robot (but for the record we’d love him no matter what). Moving on. We’re in a single story house w/ mostly tile & rugs in the areas Roomba ventures (I use a regular vacuum for the carpet in the bedrooms). In all truth I could probably let him explore the bedrooms cause he seems to be pretty powerful & effective, we just hadn’t needed the extra cleaning power in those rooms since the doors mostly stay closed. The main concern was the tiled areas since that’s where most of the day to day traffic is… especially from the aforementioned sweet monster puppy, Rambo, who often comes barreling inside w/ 4 dirty monster puppy paws. Thus, for our specific needs, Roomba has certainly *understood the assignment*…or whatever the Gen Z’s say? **side note: this is the first time I’m realizing the ‘Roomba’ / ‘Rambo’ name combo. It’s like they’re siblings. Cute….? Weird…? Okay, once again—moving on. Sure, there might be more ‘tech savvy’ options for robot vacuums but I tell ya what, this lil dude WORKS & he don’t call it quits til’ he’s FOR REAL finished w/ the job. Like, one day over the holidays I made a huge mess w/ some glitter & other crap while decorating & poor Roomba was working so hard he had to stop cleaning, go back home to his charging station, go potty, & take a lil nap. THEN!!! Yall! he woke back up on his own & went straight back to cleaning until he’d completed the entirety of his map!! I was so impressed!! like dang what a responsible, reliable hard worker! AND independent! He doesn’t require much support or guidance at all, he just figures out where he’s going & uses his robot brain to generate a map that you’re able to edit & label within the app (if you want). Speaking of which— the app is very user friendly & has lots of options to customize Roomba to function however you choose. The single time I had to contact customer service was a positive experience- they were great. This purchase was a good one!! No complaints from us— I love this robot vacuum and I feel like the price is reasonable for the high quality & reliability of the product. Except Rambo still doesn’t trust him b/c Roomba sucked up some of his kibbles (told y’all Roomba don’t care!). But Rambo is the one who slung his food everywhere & made a mess, so that’s on him not Roomba.

The device does perform cleaning of the whole house effectively -- including carpets, hardwood floor and other surfaces. It is not a deep cleaning vacuum cleaner. It goes through the whole house on its own after mapping. It does the job if you perform the vacuuming cleaning at least once a week. The vacuum bag is small, and it does empty by itself. However, you will need to get the spare vacuum bags to replace them. The device is noisy. It is good and bad. Good because you know it is around you so that you won't accidently step on it. It is bad because it will interrupt your phone calls and other conversations. Price is steep unless you get it as a sales item. If you can get a i8+ because it will last twice the time before charging again.

I really like the fact that during a cleaning operation, if it encounters what it determines questionable, it takes a picture and includes it along with the cleaning report. I had to include the photo of the white light inside the box. Yes, it is a UFO. Unidentified Floor Object! It is really the reflection of the on board light for the vacuum. At this moment, it saw a reflection of itself. Unsure, it followed its program and took a picture and sent me the report. It is also nice to know that when something occurs, it steers clear of the area. After filling out the report it provides, it will return to those exact places and tidy up so nothing is missed. It's a great machine.

We had an Eufy prior. It was amazing, until it rolled over dog 💩. We chose this for the obstacle/poo detection. It works amazingly well. I love how I can control it from the app, great schedules and get a read out on what was/wasn’t done. It cleans WAY better than the Eufy and cleans in straight lines. It takes pics of obstacles so you can identify if it’s a permanent or temporary to enhance cleaning. The only reason I give it a 4 is for noise. It’s loud. Much louder than the previous. I recommend running it while not at home. Also, when it empties itself, it sounds like a plane taking off. I get, the debris is sucked up… gravity… but, it’s loud for a short time. Again, run it while you’re gone and no biggie. Would I buy again? Absolutely. The app is very intuitive. Set up was easy. And it cleans extremely well. Worth the purchase to avoid another smeared mess and ruined rug!!

I love my roomba. My cell phone app. Makes it easy to use. I program when i want it to vaccum and where. It works great. For the price and not having to vaccum everyday it is a great value. My roomba has to charge twice everyday to finish the house. But I think that is because i have it vacuum everywhere twice a day. I have dogs

This little device has saved my cleaning routing...hours per week. It find stuff that I normally miss. Like every single hair and string on the floor. Sometimes it finds so much that I'm cleaning out the rollers because they get tight. I'm not upset... I'm really glad that it is finding that stuff. Nothing that my traditional vacuum wouldn't have gotten tangled up in either. This is a wonderful product and I can't wait for further innovations. I haven't had to sweep in MONTHS!

Just assume this is like a dust buster. Doesn't replace a vaccum entirely. In our kitchen, there are some things it won't pickup like full size popcorn. In fact if you want to clog this thing, that is the way. Also, I find the automatic roaming to not be so good. It does a lousy job of edges in our kitchen, so I have to send it twice. It doesn't seem to be able to map our three bedrooms and the software doesn't provide a way to guide it but this may change in the future. However, our living, dining and kitchen are mapped properly and covers the area. The home base empty bin is amazing and I wouldn't purchase without that feature. Only has to be emptied one a month or so. It gets hair wound up on the rollers so that has to be cleaned every couple months, but no big deal. Otherwise it does a great job and dispatching and recalling are a breeze with Alexa.
