  • Edit: Amazon Rocks!
Style: Roomba i4
Edit: I called Amazon after being on hold with Roomba who then wanted to check the warranty (seriously?!?!) and wanted me to video the thing not working. I was so over the time spent at that point on something I just pulled out of its box. Told the nice Roomba man that I wasn’t spending any more time on it and would contact Amazon instead. Roomba should take a page out of Amazon’s customer service playbook. I just received a replacement today that does exactly what it is supposed to. Thank you Amazon! First Review: Nice to get a supposed brand new product and it won’t even wake up. After troubleshooting the only thing that’s left is replacing the charging stand WHICH I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DO BECAUSE ITS BRAND NEW. I am not buying one either. I guess it goes back because there is an extraordinary wait time when calling iRobot support. And I was so excited to get one…. 🤷🏼♀️ ... show more

  • Run software/firmware updates before using! Roomba i4 EVO
Style: Roomba i4
Vacuum Roomba i4 Evo does an excellent job. My advice is to read and follow instructions. Be sure to download the App and download software/firmware updates before using the vacuum. It had what seemed like a huge update that probably makes a big difference. This will probably eliminate problems people were having with setup and using the App. Even still, initial setup was a little confusing but doable for most people. Once set up and programmed the vacuum ran flawlessly. Area I had it cleaning was about 1200 square feet, all hardwood with some rugs, and it took about 3 1/2 hours to complete. This was mainly due to it having to recharge about 2/3 of the way through. Vacuum seemed to cover every square inch it could get to and did a very thorough job. It was very careful around furniture, doorways and baseboards and did no harm whatsoever. It is a little loud but not annoyingly so. Overall, it seems to be a great vacuum and the price was good since I bought it during Amazon Prime days. ... show more

  • Works ok at first and then gives you headache after headache
Style: Roomba i2
My first robot vacuum caused me to go from excitement to resentment as it continued to deteriorate in performance each time I used it. While some features are nice, I do not recommend this as the entry level robot vacuum to invest in. My friends, the Internet, and random strangers all say robot vacuums make your life easier. So finally, I gave in and decided to make the purchase. I went for the Roomba because it's one of the most established brands and a pioneer in robot vacuum technology. I just wanted something that would save me time from having to vacuum the floors myself. The i2 seemed like the perfect solution to an entry level robot that had the essential features needed. But through continuous use, it became a nightmare. When it comes to cleaning, it picks up stuff relatively well. I have tile flooring so I expected it to do a good job. The edge sweeping brushes were able to pick up most dirt from the corners and it did not miss any spots in the center of my floors. However, from the beginning, I had already noticed that when it transitions to carpet (if you have floor mats), it typically deposits some fuzz or residue that you end up having to pick up later. As an owner of 2 cats, I found this a little bit disappointing as that means I would have to go back through all of the mats and pick up cat fur after each cleaning. As time progressed, the cleaning features continued to degrade. It would leave more residue on the tiles and chunks of fur in random places. Even after I disassembled each part and cleaned the robot thoroughly, it still had issues with fuzz and hair. Cleaning cycles would take longer and longer as the robot seemed confused about the floor mapping and would often go over the same locations multiple times. Before, the Roomba would be able to clean all of the house in one charge, now it always takes two charges to fully complete. As for the ease of cleaning, the robot is easy to take apart and clean the filters, dust bin, rubber brushes, wheel, and edge sweeping brush. However, I've found that I have to do this EVERY single time. The robot will report that the waste bin is full. I will lift it up and find that the edge sweeping brush is tangled with hair and the rubber brushes covered with it as well. Guess what the only thing that was pretty much devoid of hair was? The waste bin... It's pretty much almost always empty after a clean (little bit of dust) and the clump of fur/hair is always stuck at the entrance of the waste bin. So after every cycle, I have to take the whole robot apart and clean each section, which defeats the purpose of having a robot vacuum in the first place. The app and Alexa connection was easy and still is easy to use. There's not a lot of options in the app as you can only select if you want one pass/two pass/auto. And it creates a map of the cleaning areas but this model does not have the feature to allow you to clean certain rooms or areas. Still, the app is easy to use and the initial setup was simple. It also keeps track of the health of the replaceable parts on the app. However, it tracks based off of hours of usage so it's really up to you to determine if it's time to replace certain parts. Connecting it to Alexa and using the voice command to activate the Roomba is easy as well (often my preferred way to get my Roomba to start). Pricing is fair....if this product worked as intended. For an entry level robot vacuum, I did not expect much. However, I did expect to clean my floors and save me time. It wasn't able to accomplish that. Instead, I paid $200 for a robot that doesn't fully clean and requires me to spend a bunch of time cleaning/emptying it after each cleaning cycle. At this price, there are many other options out there that can do better. Do your research and find out what's important to you. If you want less maintenance, I don't recommend this. Overall, I'm pretty disappointed in this product because it fails to deliver on the features it promises. Most of the failures are related to poor hardware design. And so, I will be choosing a different brand for my next robot vacuum ... show more

  • If you have back pain, this is a must have!
Style: Roomba i4
My husband and I are both experiencing back & sciatica issues. I decided to go ahead and order a Romba since neither of us can tolerate the pain of vacuuming right now. Let me also mention that we have an Aussie so tons of pet hair. We have hardwoods and high pile carpet so wasn't sure how well it would work on the carpet. This thing is amazing! I'm having to empty it often but again, we have lots of pet hair and we have not been able to do a lot of cleaning lately. Romba does a great job. I let it run at night and wake up to freshly vacuumed floors! So glad I made this purchase. Well worth the money!🙂 ... show more

  • Easy setup, Mapping a plus, battery power good
Style: Roomba i4
Just replaced my first Roomba after 8 years still runs. Old Roomba worked great when just doing one room at a time. New Roomba mapped house within 45 minutes and now I can program it to clean any room in the house. I purchased furniture lifts for bedroom furniture and the Roomba cleans under all. The old one would get stuck on area rugs and was very noisy. The new Roomba is very quiet and the battery is more powerful. I can actually run the new Roomba anytime of the day because of the low noise. I just wished that I purchased the station that empties the Roomba automatically Maybe in 8 years will purchase it ... show more

  • Gets up hair on hardwood
Style: Roomba i4
This would have received 5 stars for hair removal, but it only gets it off of hard surfaces. It will not get the hair out of your carpet. It will spread the hair all over the carpet. So definitely do not get it for carpet clean up. It does work wonderful on hard surfaces, which is mostly what I have. I love it! Just not for my carpet. ... show more

  • Great for pet hair!
Style: Roomba i4
We have a very hairy dog and cat who shed their fur all over our house, and this vacuum has been essential! We use this every day to keep our carpet and wood floors clean. It vacuums in neat rows, and gets in all the corners. The battery life is long enough to do my entire downstairs level, and it goes back to its charging port on it’s own. We’ve set the automatic cleaning schedule to make sure it gets done every day. Taking off one star because it is quite loud — but the app lets you start cleaning when you’re not at home so we don’t have to hear it. Overall would recommend for a lower cost option! ... show more
