  • A Vacuum That Actually Lives Up to Its Claims
Style: Teal
The Bissell 2254 CleanView Swivel Rewind delivers the kind of performance that immediately proves whether a vacuum is worth its footprint, and this one absolutely is. The swivel steering moves with precision, letting you thread around furniture without the usual wrestling match. Suction is strong and consistent, pulling embedded debris and pet hair out of carpet fibers you’d swear were already clean. The brush roll stays engaged without scattering debris, and the edge-to-edge pickup actually reaches into corners instead of pretending to. The automatic cord rewind is a small but meaningful quality‑of‑life upgrade—tap the button and the cord disappears without the usual coiling and dragging. The dirt tank empties cleanly, the filters are easy to access, and the included pet tools have enough real bite to handle upholstery and stairs. If you want a vacuum that performs reliably, handles smoothly, and feels engineered for real homes with real messes, the 2254 earns its spot. ... show more

  • Highly recommended for pet owners!
Style: Teal
I have waited a year to write this review to make sure I could give honest feedback of pros/cons: PROS: if you have pets, this one is for you. I have had a lot of different types of vacuums and this one by far picks up the most pet hair. I love that could can see the canister filling up and emptying is a breeze. It’s lightweight and easy to maneuver once you get the hang of it. The cord is long (which is a huge plus) and it’s easy to rewind with a push of the button. By far my favorite feature is the upholstery attachment. Just wow does that really work on furniture!! I have a black dog and a white cat and it has no problems picking up hair off furniture. CONS: As with anything there are a few things I would change. First the hose. It is way too short and the extension is as well. It’s easy enough to remedy by buying more extensions but it would be better if the manufacturer updated this feature. I don’t mind the onboard tools but they don’t all stay on tightly in place so I just took them off. Lastly a light would be nice for those darker corners in the house. Overall I would highly recommend this model for the price and the value. ... show more

  • Actually Surprised How well this works!
Style: Teal
We’ve bought countless (6 to be exact SHARK Vacuums..). And each and every one has either stopped working or somehow a plastic piece broke off and the list goes on ! The last one I bought I bought from Amazon and I bought a three year warranty, which I have been trying to get help on for a year and a half. I’m very upset over it because I paid for it and they want me to go to the manufacturer who they say is responsible for it and shark is saying AMAZON is responsible for it so I gave up and are VERY UPSET Amazon didn’t honor my extended warranty and the vacuum making awful clicking noises when vacuuming became a problem So I thought the Reviews are amazing for this Bissel Vacuum and hey let’s try something new A portion of it goes towards animals, which I think is awesome because we have two rescues and our fur babies are very important to us, but the other problem is one of them sheds badly so we need a decent vacuum The price point is wonderful. It does what it says. I wish it did have a light on it but at a time I just wanted a vacuum to vacuum the suction is phenomenal and it is very easy to empty the container. My husband even loves it so we may be new fans of this product. The only thing like I said, I wish it had a light and I’m kind of surprised you have to manually bend down and switch the depth so that’s kind of a pain too but when you’re looking at the money invested in it, it’s not a 500 $600 vacuum, but I will say I am very impressed with it and this is an honest review. I am not getting paid for this or in a promotion for anything and we have had it for several months now one of the best features to the retractable cord boy I just love that. ... show more

  • If you have pets that shed you're gonna want this thing!

I have had this vacuum for 2.5 years now, so I think that's a pretty good amount of time to know what's good and bad about it. My previous vacuum was a Dyson Ball Animal, which I had for five or six years, so that's what I'm comparing it to. Overall the Bissell is a good vacuum, mainly because the suction power is amazing. Even when my Dyson was new it didn't have the suction power that the Bissell does, and for the last few years before it died I was having to use one of those scraper tools to pull all the cat hair up out of our rugs first before vacuuming, which was very labor intensive. We currently have 13 cats in the house, so it's extremely important for us to have a reliable vacuum that works very well and can handle all the cat hair. The Bissell can do that! So here are the main things I like about this vacuum: it has absolutely no trouble pulling ALL the cat hair out of the rugs, and of course hardwood/tile floors are no problem. The little side bristles help to pull in dirt and hair next to baseboards, which is also really helpful. It's very lightweight and swivels on a dime, so it's easy to handle. The tank is large and very easy to empty, and even when hair gets stuck up around the filter, it's big enough to reach into. That was a problem with the Dyson, because hair would get stuck up near the top but it was almost too small to reach into so I'd have to use a hangar to get everything out. I also like that the cord retracts, and there's a little thing near the top of the handle that you can clip the cord into to help keep it out of the way. Changing the belt is fairly easy - but I'll get into that later. The things I don't like as much: The hose works fine and some of the tools are good, like the one with the brush on it, but it could be improved. This is one area where the Dyson was much better - the hose was longer and had a sort of handle, and everything was better quality. The Bissell tools are cheap and don't work as well, especially the "triple action brush roll" that's supposed to pick up cat hair. I have tried and tried to figure out how to make that thing work and it just doesn't. That is probably the biggest disappointment with the Bissell - I absolutely need an attachment that picks up cat hair to vacuum the couch, chairs, and everything else that gets covered in hair. The Dyson has an attachment like that with little rotating heads that works incredibly well. Fortunately, it fits on the Bissell hose! If you have pets I highly recommend buying that attachment by itself to use with the Bissell. It's the Tangle-Free Turbine Tool that goes with the Dyson Animal DC40 upright vacuum. I also still use the "articulating hard floor tool" that came with the Dyson, because the Bissell doesn't have anything like that and it fits on the Bissell hose. The Bissell corner tool may be useful if you have carpeted stairs but I don't have stairs and have never found a use for it. The Bissell is bigger than the Dyson and doesn't fit under things as well. Also, when using the hose you have to be very careful not to pull too much or the whole vacuum will fall over because it's so lightweight. I have learned that you have to hold onto it or lay it down to use the hose. Also, over time it has gotten louder; I'm not sure why. Those things are all minor annoyances. The main negative is the same thing many other people have mentioned - the belt breaks too easily. I'd had it less than two months when the belt broke, because I had the vacuum sitting on the edge of a rug that had fringe. While I was busy vacuuming under something with the hose, it somehow sucked the fringe up and I guess it got clogged and that snapped the belt. I was prepared for that because of other reviews, so I ordered more belts from Bissell and they arrived pretty quickly. In the directions it tells you to remove the screws from the plate on the bottom, but there is one more than it says there are. After a few minutes I figured out how to get the belt in the right place and around the roller, put everything back together, turned it on, and there was immediately a horrible noise and I swear flames came out of the vacuum before I could get it turned off. I took the bottom plate off again and not only was the new belt broken but the roller was also broken. I'm not sure what happened because I followed the directions. I contacted Bissell support and told them what happened, and it took them a couple of days to respond, but when they did they said those things aren't usually covered by the warranty but that they would send me a new roller and belt free of charge! They arrived pretty quickly. The roller was a different color than the original, but I wasn't going to gripe about a free replacement. This time after I reinstalled everything it worked perfectly. Since then it has worked great, and no more broken belts! I have learned to be somewhat careful with it. If you buy this vacuum be aware that the suction is so good it will suck up small rugs (like bath mats), and don't roll over small cords or anything loose that could get tangled up in the roller. I never worried about that with the Dyson because even if something did get sucked up I could just pull it out. The Bissell is not as sturdy but will EAT things if you're not careful. Bottom line - even with the minor annoyances I would buy this vacuum again in a heartbeat just for the suction alone, but the price definitely helps. ... show more
