I've been using cordless vaccuums for a long time and felt like my vacuum wasn't cleaning very well so I started searching for a new one. After a few trials, I still wasn't finding a cordless option with the suction power I wanted so I decided to try this corded vaccuum. Pros of Corded Vacuum - I was shocked at how much dust and dog hair this thing picked up. I'd vacuumed with the cordless just yesterday and there was clearly a lot that wasn't picked up. It even sucked up dog toy fluff that the cordless was unable to pick up. - Easy to maneuver - Cord is super long so I can vacuum the entire hallway and two rooms by plugging it into one outlet - You can see how much dust/dirt you're picking up. Again, shocking. - Never having to worry about the battery dying - Never having to worry about charging it - Huge dustbin that I only have to empty once after cleaning the whole house - Much less expensive - Actually picked up dog hair off my couch as well - Has 5 suction levels. I've only used the 3rd level and that was more than enough. Cons to corded vaccuum - Heavier and larger in size - Louder than cordless - Plugging it in and maneuvering around the cord can be annoying. - Can't get into tight spaces so have to use an attachment for that There are some pros to cordless, but after seeing how much dust and debris was left behind by using this more powerful vacuum, I've decided that the cordless vacuum isn't strong enough for my needs. I bought this vacuum in a desperate, last ditch effort to save my sanity while living in a house with four fur babies. I have two cats and two high-shedding dogs and the tumbleweeds are overwhelming. They laugh in the face of Swiffer. Plain ol’ broom and dust pan? Forget about it. Other vacuums I’ve owned have tried to keep up, but between weak suction and being cumbersome and unwieldy have sadly wound up on the curb. This vacuum is easy to put together and much more lightweight than others I’ve had. I have pretty poor upper body strength and am able to lift and carry it with one hand. The cleaning tools conveniently store securely on board. They are not loose in their places waiting to fall off at the slightest bump. The suction is powerful! I do have bare floors so I can’t speak to how it performs on carpet, but it pulls hair in from the surrounding area as you’re pushing along the path. The side bristles really do help get right up to the edge of the floor and in the corners. This vacuum comes with a corner tool but I didn’t even have to use it. Speaking of pushing, this one is super easy to move. The swivel takes some getting used to but I quickly got the hang of it. Emptying the canister is simple and I really like that all I have to do is push a button to open the bottom. I don’t have to twist to open or touch the debris. The cord length is much longer than I expected which is a plus as I didn’t have to change outlets. And last, but certainly not least, I absolutely love the retractable cord. The whole thing rewinds in a matter of seconds (really!) at the push of a button. I’m not one to sit down and write a review but I am thoroughly impressed by this vacuum. The only issue I had momentarily was with the TurboEraser attachment. Other reviewers have mentioned the rubber flaps are easily bogged down. I found this to be true, especially when applying even minimal pressure. However, I found that by not applying any pressure and making slow passes (like using a carpet shampooer), the attachment works as designed. It pulled most of the pet hair off my furniture. I wish I’d purchased this sooner. My floors and furniture look amazing! If you’re on the fence, give this one a try. Your floors will thank you AND you help save pets with Bissell. ... show more

This was a replacement for a Shark after we found out that it is nearly impossible to find someone who is willing to repair that brand! Note: This review is being written after one use. I haven’t used the attachments yet. Pros: This Bissell vacuum is strong, lightweight, and gets closer to the edge/wall than any other vacuum I’ve ever had. The vacuum swivels beautifully. It has 5 settings for different types of floors. The beater bar continues to spin on the bare floor setting. It assembles easily and emptying and cleaning the dust cup and filters are a breeze. The retractable cord is great! Cons: there is no headlight, and you have to bend down and turn a knob on the base in order to change the settings.
