I have bought soooo many vacuums over the years. Either they clogged up, had low suction, too much suction or the motor burned out, an vacuum bags where a pain. I’ve had Kirby, Hoover, Eureka, Red Devil, Bissell and Rumba and issues with everyone of them. At this stage in life I wanted simplicity. I’ve had hard wood floors for about 10 years now as to not need to fight with a vacuum cleaner. Recently I moved and the place is carpeted. In advanced I immediately sought out to buy a good vacuum. My first thought was Dyson. I’ve researched them in the past and loved the ball feature. The ability of a vacuum to maneuver is very important, but the price was too much for me. This time I started my search for a Shark Vacuum. It Seemed to be a very nice system and affordable. I found the one that I thought was best and added to my cart. But then I thought I would check the pricing on the Dyson on Amazon. I found this one. I immediately started reading the reviews and searching YouTube for demos and reviews. Yup, I as sold. I removed the shark and added the Dyson. I love my Dyson. It had perfect suction, easy to maneuver, light weight and no bags. It’s beautiful. I haven’t even removed the little instruction tag from it so I can always feel it’s brand new. My carpet is not a thick pile rug so it moves just right on it. My rug is problem. It’s kind of shaggy and the suction is too powerful for it. I just simply use the hand tool to vacuum it. This is a excellent buy and I recommend it to anyone looking for a powerful hassle free vacuum that does the job.

If you want suction then this one is it but requires work! I was shocked at the amount of debris in the container after using my shark vacuum. *Great Suction! I love it but it is STUBBORN! Basically if you are looking for a vacuum that gets the dirt and the work out is not an issue then it’s perfect. If you are looking for a vacuum that’s light weight, easy to maneuver, gets in tight spaces easily,... this one is not it! It’s more designed for suction! I gave it a 5 star over-all because I like clean over easy. Break it down: Pro: The canister very easy to pop out and release debris and place back in. Good length in cord. Again great suction! Great for workout out or ROM (range of motion) Cons: It is thick and wide (3.5” x 13.25”) where the vacuum brush is plus the big ball limits where you can vacuum depending on what you are use to. Great for non-cluttered (furniture) rooms! Swiveling takes skill. *NOT for stairs! *Will not go under furniture that is 3 1/2 inches off ground if that is what you are use to (ex: entertainment center). Pull that brush hose out! *If you are use to vacuuming between areas (ex: toilet/wall) then get use to pulling the hose out very frequently to get those tight spaces.

First off, the assembly was surprisingly easy. You don't need any tools. You'll probably have to YouTube some videos to help you out like I did, but it really is quite simple. You just click a few things in and you're ready to go. No weird settings to adjust or anything like that (not sure if that's a pro or a con though...). Overall, the build quality is highly disappointing. It creaks and just doesn't feel sturdy at all. I was really expecting something better. The plastic parts just don't feel sturdy, I don't really know how else to explain it. When you think Dyson, you think the Cadillac of vacuums. Well this feels more like a Kia. I mean I guess it's hard plastic? I understand they did this to keep the vacuum lightweight, but it just doesn't feel sturdy and that is what bothers me. Anyway, the only adjustment you can really make with the vacuum is a button to turn the bristles on and off. I'm underwhelmed to say the least. I expected some neat fancy features with the vacuum. I mean it doesn't even have cool lights on the front of it... Seriously? For $300 I expected to be able to fly to the moon and back. Literally. But no, it's just any regular old vacuum that you flip a switch to and it sucks stuff up. The cord isn't even retractable, and the plastic thing you wrap it around feels super flimsy. I question whether they did that intentionally, but I'm not sure why they would. But the part you've all been waiting for. Does it vacuum well? In my short testing time, it definitely does. The bristles work magic on the carpet let me tell you. It takes your flat, squished down carpet and fluffs it back up. To be fair, most new mid-to-high end vacuums will do this. But it seems like this one does it even better. I'm not about to go throw dirt on my carpet and see how well it cleans it up, and my carpet is already pretty clean, but so far I love the way it actually vacuums. I suppose that is the redeeming quality of this. So if you're looking for a vacuum that vacuums well, this definitely does. I just can't help but feel like I wasted my money though. My old $79 Bissell pretty much did everything this does (aside from auto adjusting to the floor, which I'm not that impressed by). I only bought a new one because my old one started to get uncomfortably hot when in use. I had that one for a few years, it was just time for another one, and I felt like splurging. It was between this one and that newer Shark DuoClean vacuum. I somewhat regret not buying the Shark. I'm sure that one vacuums well, and if nothing else, at least I would have gotten cool looking LED lights on the front of it. Plus it's slighty cheaper, and has a longer warranty than this Dyson.... Oh well. I'm still satisfied with my purchase. It does what it's supposed to do well. I just don't think these are worth the splurge. Save your money and buy a highly rated vacuum that is 1/3rd of the price of this one. It'll likely do you just fine. I would have given this vacuum less stars, but because I had no legitimate issues, and it after all is just a vacuum, I think 4 is reasonable. If I have any quality issues in the future I will definitely be updating this review.

Really awesome vacuum. I have one complaint. The cord is wrapped and unwrapped manully. Although, there is a turnable piece that let's the entire cord drop that makes unwrapping easier. If I could give 4.9 stars I would. It moves across the floors so easily. I vacuumed under my dining room table and chairs and didn't have to move anything. When you get it it is in five or six pieces. Pretty easy to snap together and it doesn't feel as if it is going to break. The instructions for putting it together we're a little off. I had the put the tubes together and then attach the handle. Instructions say to put the handle on first then put the tubes together. I couldn't make that happen. It transitions easily from my carpet to stone tile floors. I just turn the brushes off with a button and keep it moving. It locks upright without no button use to unlock it. You just pull it back and it unlocks. Push power to on. Clean floors. It moves like a dream. Effortless and seamless. It is actually fun to use. I used this to replace a Hoover upright and am 100% glad I did. Bought this months ago and here to do a follow up. Still the best vacuum I have ever used. The compact design is pretty awesome. I have cleaned the filters a few times as well as figured out the whole attachment design. After cleaning the filters, let dry over night to be sure they are completely dry. I have multiple dogs that she'd a lot. To include a Husky. I vacuum almost daily and have had 0 issues with this vacuum. It still moves like a dream, cleans enough hair toake a nest for a Golden Eagle nest, and even still looks good. Side note. Buy this when it is on sale. It is pretty sweet, but no point in paying full price when you can wait a few weeks and get it on sale somewhere. I'm actually ready to trade it in at this point and buy whatever Dyson calls an upgrade.

I wanted a Dyson the first time I saw a commercial for one- years and years ago. I was surprised to read so many negative reviews, but I wanted one so badly, I decided to go for it. Overall, I am pleased. But it could be better. Several people complained that the suction is so strong it is hard to push. It isn't hard at all with the beater brush engaged. It is a little hard when it isn't but it sure is sucking up dust and dirt. My carpet did get visibly lighter as I vacuumed. It is lightweight, easy to maneuver, and so easy to dump the canister. However, there are two things they could improve upon. 1. Though the suction is fantastic, it doesn't suck well from sides or the front. So when you are vacuuming up against the wall, it doesn't pick up from the edge as well as other vacuums I have used. 2. The hose is the worst. It is so difficult to use. Since the vacuum doesn't suck well from the edges, you need to use the hose to vacuum close to the wall. The hose is like a tightly wound spring. You have to pull hard against it as it tries to pull back. It's like playing tug-o-war. So all in all, I still love it, but it could be better! Update: First: The vacuum wasn't working. Dyson paid for UPS to ship it to them. They were very fast. They sent it back (they said it was clogged.) But there was a red flag...UPS said they send a lot of them. Second: Vacuum wasn't working. Sent it back again and they replaced it with a new one. Seriously? Yes. Third: (a year later?) The vacuum head with beater brush stopped working. They sent a new head. It worked once. It stopped working again. Fourth: Called and told them. They insisted on sending a new head when obviously the problem is elsewhere. Then sent me an email a few days later saying that the part I had ordered was out of stock followed by an email telling me they weren't going to charge me since the part was out of stock. ???? Obviously not the right email for a repair they were supposed to do under warranty. Fifth: I have made 2 calls today about this and they agreed for me to send it back again through UPS. But the email they sent me was the wrong one...with no label for sending it back. Second call they were supposed to send me a label. Again sent the wrong email while I was still on the phone. They knew I didn't receive it. Then the call was disconnected and they didn't bother to call me back and didn't send me a label. I am in queue awaiting my third call. Needless to say, I am not happy. At this point it is obvious that both the customer service and the products are horrible. The saga continues... In the end, 9 calls and the final call didn't work right either. In the middle of this I went to UPS with an order number that didn't work. Oh and the 9 calls were 9 reps. This doesn't include the 2 call backs where they hung up before I could get to the phone or the supervisor who was supposed to call me back and never did. I never did get a working reference number for UPS. Instead I got a savvy UPS worker who said she knew how to put the order in manually. (This is the oder for a label and free shipping to the repair shop. The repair was immediate and as I assumed, the head was not the problem. It was something with the motor. Now waiting for it to be returned which is certainly not as fast as them receiving it. But nine calls? Seriously? And still the info was incorrect? And each call was a 50-60 wait on the phone or a callback. Geez...

I needed a vacuum that could work on sand in carpets and hardwood floors for the family beach house and found this to work perfectly. With the other vacuums we have used the sand would spit back out defeating the purpose of vacuuming. The Dyson Ball Multi floor 2 worked so well and was easy to maneuver around the house. It pulled up so much dust and grit that I had to empty it after just cleaning each room. I’m hoping that is not necessary the more we use it and it helps get everything up that is in the carpets or on the floors. Several reviews stated that the auto adjust for height on different types of carpet made it impossible to move and I found this to be untrue. We have everything from flat indoor outdoor mats to thick like carpet and it moved well on all surfaces. At the push of the gray button it turned on the roller bars to get into the carpeted areas and easily switched back to wood floors with the push of a button. So easy and no issues with different carpet piles. Pros: Picks up sand out of carpets and off hardwood. Easy to move around Cons: A bit heavy for stairs or moving between floors Need to use tools to get under furniture as it isn’t able to go flat

As someone who owns & operates a cleaning business on my own, I’ve been through my fair share of vacuums. So many of them have horrible suction power when it comes to hardwood floors, and so many get tangled up in carpets as well. I’m getting my masters so money is tight for me and cleaning has been keeping me afloat as far as bills, rent, and loan/tuition payments. I decided to save & spend the extra money on this vacuum because it had a decent amount of positive reviews. Boy am I glad I went with this one!!! It’s so easy to move around (hence that ball!), it’s light and easy to carry, and the suction is fantastic. I keep this thing in my bedroom 😂 I have two dogs so it can get furry, and this has helped me walk around barefoot without pet fur sticking to my feet! I also love the noise it makes which might be strange because it’s more of a humming sound than an industrial fan/suction noise. I don’t have carpet in my home (hence the pets) so I’ve only used this in client’s homes that I clean—none of which have long, frilly rugs so I’m not sure how this would be on that material since I’ve never tried it. It’s only difficult to use on the stairs because like any vacuum that isn’t a backpack-type/over-the-shoulder type, it’s annoying to carry it up each step and use the hose at the same time—but this is not a product-specific issue, it’s just difficult to maneuver any machine on the stairwell. I love this vacuum, I highly recommend it and definitely will be keeping this brand in mind for future purchases.

This is a good basic vacuum that does what it is supposed to do but I found nothing special about it. And when you take into consideration the cheap quality of materials along with some poor design decisions I don't think it is worth the price. After using it a few times it felt to me like a good budget machine that might sell for $125 - $150. On the plus side, it does vacuum very well but no better than comparable machines. I vacuumed my carpets with a five year old Miele upright followed by the same areas with the Dyson. The Dyson did pick up some additional hair and dirt but it was negligible and no more than I would expect any brand new vacuum to do on its first use. The other plus for the Dyson is it is very light, but that is where problems come in. I was very surprised by the cheap and flimsy plastic body. It almost felt like a toy vacuum. The brush assembly wheels on the front of the vacuum had noticeable squeaks throughout the time I used it. And the back wheels have a terrible design as you cannot easily lock the upright in place and move it on back wheels from area to area. It can be done but it takes a certain touch to do so and even when it does lock it often pops back to the vacuum position on its own. Dyson reps have commented that this model is made to be carried by the canister handle when moving from area to area. Who carries a upright vacuum from room to room? But that tells you why it is all plastic. The last thing about the locking position is you have to give it a slight push forward to disengage and the wheels are supposed to automatically release into the vacuum position, but they always make a loud cracking sound when this happens because the wheels and assembly are also plastic and it seems unlikely those parts are going to last very long from repetitive motion. The power and brush buttons are positioned half way up the handle which requires that I bend over every time I need to use one. Every upright vacuum I have owned has these controls either at the top of the handle or accessible with foot controls on the base for easy access. The cord also attaches at the same low level as the power buttons so you also have to bend over to grab it when you want to get the slack out of the way of your feet. The power hose attachment is connected to the handle and engages as soon as you turn off the power brush. Unfortunately for some reason the intake for the hose is the top of the handle and when you switch it off it goes from being medium loud to airplane loud until you engage the brush again or turn it off. If you take the hose off and try to vacuum more than a foot or two away from the body the vacuum will fall over because the body is so light and the hose so stiff. And for all I read about the ease of use of the Dyson Ball, I found it more hype than anything. This is just another vacuum. I don't think you would find much difference in performance between this and mid line Hoover Wind Tunnels that sell for half the price and have better design and functionality. I returned mine after trying to like it for a week.
