  • Free my hands and back
I was hesitating when I purchase this Y0110 model, seems like a lot of reviews saying it did not work out of the box. I still decided to give it a try, since it was $100 cheaper compare to other brands during Prime Big Day. This is my third iRobot, I had a 830, currently using a 6 series, and got very excited to see this Y0110 vacuum with mop. SETUP: Upon receiving, the robot came with full battery, I didn't need to charge it before use, but do require to sat on the base for app setup. Since I'm already a iRobot App user for my 6 series, setting up the Y0110 was fairly easy, basically just add a device, pressing couple button and let it sync, then it's ready to go. RUNNING AND MAPPING: This model starts with a straight line to the end of the wall, then make a perfect U-turn, make another straight line right back. it does cover every inch when it's in an open area. I really like that, compare to Y0110, my 6 series is like in a dumb/blind mode, it will make a angle turn whenever it hits the wall or object, therefore it's always zig zagging. Y0110 seem like knowing what direction it's going, even when it his object, it will slowly adjust itself to go back to it's original direction to make straight line. and at the end of each job, you will receive a map in the app, telling you the area it covered. But the map can be confusing sometime, maybe because I do pick up the robot and let it run at certain area one more round as needed, this might mess up the mapping. CLEANESS: I think the end result of mopping is good enough. There are always some tough stains here and there, I just need to give it a handwipe if I want it to be perfect, but I don't blame the robot. I tried mopping with water only, and with iRobot hardwood floor cleaning solution. Both options looks the same to me, but I personally prefer to use cleaning solution, just to hope it will sanitize better. Cleaning solution does make the house smells cleaner =P The vacuum part, It does the job as it's expected. I use this robot mainly for kitchen and living room. I have a dog and a kid in the household. So I do need it to pick up small crumbs before it mops over it. and so far, the concept works out perfectly. Not sure if this model works with barrier, can not find information regarding this. If iRobot customer service sees my review, maybe can help to answer this question:) ... show more

  • Piece of Junk - DON'T BUY
I would give this zero stars if I could, but since I want to warn others, 1 star it is. The robot set up seems easy enough, once I had it was set on its charging station and it was easy to go through the app, that was the last time anything was easy. When I attempt to trigger a clean from the app, the vacuum starts whirring but doesn't move. The app shows that the robot is "cleaning" for a few seconds, but then nothing. When I attempt to trigger it by pressing the "clean" button on top", it chimes its bells twice, then shoves an inch off the charger and promptly shuts down. The battery should have been fully charged (that's what it says in the app, and I left it on the charger for a full day), but it still dies completely. I put it back on the charger, and a few seconds later it makes the same chimes and pushes off and dies again. It's like Sisyphus, here. I attempted to troubleshoot through the app (no options for help in the app itself), and through the links on Amazon, but those links lead you to a page where it wouldn't let me click on any of the options. I even tried calling, and the phone rang once then just stayed silent for 2 minutes. And finally, when trying to return it, Amazon and UPS are both completely useless. When I first went to return, the only option that didn't force me to print my own shipping label (it's 2025, obviously I don't have a printer) was UPS pickup, but a week later, no one from UPS ever came to actually attempt a pick up. I've been a hermit waiting for SOMEONE to show up, but no one has even attempted to contact me or come to my door. So Amazon made me cancel and choose another option, all still are forcing me to print my own label. This thing is a piece of junk, and Amazon's quality of service has tanked. 0/10 ... show more

  • Worth it in most cases
Works good as a vacuum for not super heavy jobs. It is strong and will even push small light items around so be mindful of that. It is good about learning your space after a few days and I like that you can set automatic routines and that it takes itself “home” when done or if battery gets low. The mop part is a waste of time so I’d just get the regular one. It works good for pet hair. You do have to clean it pretty much after every cleaning because it doesn’t have a big chamber but it’s worth it if you have pets or vinyl, hardwood or other bare floors. It does go over thresholds and will do carpet but works better on bare surfaces. Only gave 4 stars because rhe mop part is sort of a waste. ... show more

  • So far, so good!
My review is for the mopping combo. I will edit my review if something changes, but so far I’m impressed! I’m not new to Roombas, but this is my first mopping vacuum. I had avoided them in the past due to the poor reviews, but the price point on this unit made me give it a try. Wow…. First off, it’s a no frills model: no handle on top, no light on the charging base, and no battery indicator on the unit itself. It also came without instructions, which I had to search the internet to find. Set up was really simply. Basically, no assembly required. You DO need the app to set functions on the unit and go between just vacuuming and vac/mop. The set up was a bit of a pain, but I’m not tech savvy. The app does allow you to customize your level of clean and set how long the unit runs for, which is nice. Also be aware that you aren’t supposed to use detergents or disinfectants in the water tank. I suspect this is because the spray nozzles are small and could easily clog. I just used a teaspoon of a common floor cleaner and plan to alternate between that and plain water. Now to the good part… using it. I have an all tile floor house that gets mopped WAY less than it should. lol. I set this thing off in one room to see how it would do. It did an excellent job of covering the entire surface and shut down once it had mopped the whole room. I rinsed the pad out afterwards, and the pad was REALLY dirty. I put it in several other rooms with the same result. It cleaned for about two hours before needing to be recharged. It did about half of my house. When I rinsed the pad again, it was filthy! So, yeah, it actually mops. When I went to empty the dust bin, it was FULL! So yes, it vacuums too. It was a bit awkward to empty the bin compared to my old roomba, but they give you a brush to help. And I rinsed out the water tank and dried everything off, so there was a bit of effort in unit maintenance when it was done. So, in summary. This is NOT a deep cleaning machine that requires zero maintenance. But, it is a solid unit to tidy up and give your floors and wipe down. And if you are like me and never want to mop, it’s WAY better than nothing. And for the price point, it does a solid job at floor maintenance. ... show more

  • Most frustrating roomba
The first one we got died as soon as it came off the base. I will give roomba customer service points for replacing it no problem. I’ve had a roomba before but it was loud so we loved that this was quiet but that’s the only positive. You definitely get what you pay for with this one. The thing tried to drive on top of obstacles all the time rather than hitting them and moving on, this results in it getting stuck constantly. There is no mapping, my last one didn’t have mapping either but it was more intuitive and still vacuumed everywhere. This one only goes one direction so you essentially have to put the base on the back left of a room or pick it up and move it around occasionally which is annoying. The worst part is the base. The thing can never find the base and so it just gets lost until it dies. Even when you put it back on the base it doesn’t charge half the time so the battery is always dead. I have it scheduled to run but again, even if the battery is charged, half the time it just doesn’t run and I have to manually run it. This was such a waste of money, save yourself the frustration and save up and get a better model. Just $100 more and you can get a significantly higher quality robot that won’t have all these problems. ... show more

  • It works
Everything has to connect to WiFi, even this disk of plastic. Call me a boomer. It’s alright. I’ve had it for over a year and it gets the job done. If you run it daily, you will keep a clean house. My issue is cleaning the room an after if it is full. The compartment for the dust and lint and stuff that can detach from the roomba now easily fall off. It is loose and if you carry the roomba on its side, the compartment will fall out and dust will get everywhere. Also most of the time, the compartment for the dirt and dust has a flap that opens up; that also is loose and has trouble closing. I clean it regularly with the brush the roomba comes with, and finish it with a moist paper towel wipe and air dry. It’s somewhat louder than any older roomba. You will wake up to the sound of it turning on and it will keep you awake, which isn’t a complaint of mine. It’s a good alarm too lmao! It docks easily and I haven’t had trouble with that yet. It charges full in around 4 hours, so there’s that good thing. The mop feature isn’t that well because after a couple days, the wet mop part of the roomba will smell really bad ... show more

  • NOT A MOP!
I was not impressed with this device. It's not a real mop - you have to make a small pad wet and then it drags it across the floor until it's dry. It will never mop a whole house since it doesn't have a tank for water output. It was very loud as well. The device drives right over magnetic strips that work to stop my other, off-brand robot. I'm returning the robot and I recommend that you don't buy this one. I cannot properly review its vacuum capability since I didn't test that, but it seems like it vacuums well. Original review, for broken robot. IRobot sent a brand new replacement which worked well: Pros: Comes in nice packaging Cons: doesn't charge doesn't connect to WiFi power button doesn't work In short, pointless and aggravating. ... show more
