  • Vastly improved over previous models. Outstanding for the price.
Color: Black
We had a previous generation non mapping E model for our hard floors downstairs and a precuous generation I model with the bag dock upstairs for the carpeted floors. Both were extremely needy robots. The E model got stuck pretty much every other clean, but it was nothing compared to the maintenance nightmare of the I series model. I was constantly clearing dust out of the bin, as the slightest film would cause the optical bin sensors to declare that the bin was full after every single clean. The bins on both models were too small, the charging contacts needed regular maintenance and overall I felt I was doing more work to keep the robots happy than they were. The E series was declared dead when it found a mess our new puppy had made before we did, and the I series finally just stopped working. I mention this backstory because if you've only had experience with the older E and I series, you may appreciate these new models as much as I have. Credit where credit is due, iRobot put a lot of improvements into these new models. First, the bins are huge. Like a third of the entire robot is bin space. You can let it go a couple of days without having to worry about emptying it. Or get the bagging dock. (I didnt.) Next, these use one brush instead of two, which means less parts to replace...but amazingly, the single brush does a MUCH better job than the old models with two. iRobot claims improved suction and I believe it. They're quieter. You still know it's running, but it's nowhere near as loud as the old models. Much appreciated. The little on board brush and thread/hair cutter tool. It rides on the bin and is super handy for clearing the filter screen and cutting hair or thread off the brush roller. Speaking of the filter, this is a massive improvement. They've placed the paper filter behind a mesh screen which keeps the majority of larger particles from clogging up the filter. Brilliant. And you can brush the screen right off into the trash. The lidar mapping is really good. A mapping run takes just minutes. Once mapped, it will happily clean in perfect rows. The charging contacts are also a huge improvement. No longer small rectangles, the points on the robot are long strips for easier docking and less cleaning since there is far more contact area. And the dock has been downsized to a small, unobtrusive box. I took a chance on this base model because it was relatively inexpensive. It worked so well on our hard floors downstairs, I bought a second one for the carpeted upstairs and it works just as well. Really surprised and happy with all the meaningful improvements made. Note that old E and I series models will not work with the old iRobot app. You have to use the new app. And this is where I have to ding iRobot. The new app is less intuitive than the old one. You'll figure it out, but it blurs the separation between routines and automation- which will no doubt be confusing to some. Editing routines is kind of buried in the app and it's just not super user friendly after the initial set u. For instance it only uses 24 hour time for scheduling cleaning jobs. Which, ok, but that's definitely going to confuse some people. Aside from the less than user friendly app, these are excellent robot vacuums- especially considering the price point. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • The right amount of robot
Color: Charcoal
Our floors are much cleaner now that we run this machine every few days. Because we have it, we are mindful of cords, cat toys and other items on the floor that could tangle it up, so its presence also kind of enforces a level of tidiness. This machine does not learn quickly, it is not using satellites and cameras to map the shifting topography of our home, and I am happy with that. What it does is wander from room to room in an apparently random fashion, and it always finds dirt. It eventually seems to go over the entire floor. We have two cats who find it loud and unpleasant, but also fascinating. They stalk it from covert locations, calculating the balance of the predator/prey relationship. Someday, they may attack it, but if that happens, I think the Roomba will survive. Cons: Somewhat loud - It is as loud as a normal vacuum cleaner Needs supervision - It can't be left running home alone, because it gets stuck under furniture from time to time. It sometimes makes mistakes that could endanger its life. I block it from entering areas where it could fall off of a cliff, because in spite of the cliff detection feature, I think it might very well fall off a cliff if given the chance. Only one phone allowed - The phone app seems to allow for only one phone per user, so only one member of the household can command the vacuum from the phone app; not a big deal for me because I just push the button on the top of the Roomba and it takes off. Pros: It vacuums the house frequently. I am never going to do that. It has the work quality of maybe a ten year old who was asked to vacuum the house--but unlike a ten year old, it is persistent. The suction is good, it gets diirt out of deep rugs and it does well in the corners. It is able to get over thresholds and it is fine around our cat dishes- pushes them a little bit but then backs away. ... show more

  • Cleans well but the battery stinks
Color: Black
I was so excited to get a new one. I had my old one for years. This one cleans very well but I must say the battery is not good at all. It gets through two rooms and needs to go back to charge. And charging isn’t quick. The other thing is “standard clean” is just does the perimeter of my house. Now maybe there is something I need to change in settings i dont know but the only way it cleans all the floor is deep clean every time. ... show more

  • It sucks
Color: Black
Upgraded from a 15 year old robot vacuum to this. It really sucks! Easy to set up a room, works quickly and cleans really well. I should have gotten the auto dump charging dock, but overall, this was a great purchase! Edit: After 2 months of running great, it stopped working! First it just spun in circles and kept trying to recalibrate, then it escalated to thinking it was in the air or something and kept telling me to put it on the ground. I called and talked to customer support and they had me do a couple of things to troubleshoot the issue. Nothing worked, so they're sending me a new one. It was really quick and easy. I'm not pleased that the roomba quit working so soon after buying it, but at least customer support was helpful. ... show more

  • Cleans Pet Hair and Small Dirt Particles Thoroughly
Color: Black
I have only had this robot for a short time but my initial reaction is that it is great! It is much better than my previous robot. We have a Golden Retriever and it picks her hair up very thoroughly. It also picks up very small dirt particles that my previous robot did not. It was easy to set up and the app provides good cleaning information. I like that I can design several maps and pick the one that I want. It was a very good price and I am happy that I picked it. ... show more

  • BUY THIS ROOMBA it WORKS! BUY THIS ROOMBA it WORKS!
Color: Black
BUY THIS Roomba! My last one lasted over ten years before it quit. So I ordered this and it works! I vacuumed with my Dyson first. Then I ran Roomba and it goes under the bed and it picked up an unbelievable amount of dog hair. The attached video is from the second run and the still picture shows how much hair it picked up. GROSS! I watch my friends dog occasionally but OMG that’s a lot of hair and dirt. I will let it charge and run it again and again until that carpet is clean! This is clearly more powerful than my old one and I love the app! You can set it and forget it or run it on demand. It’s not loud in my opinion. And it charges quickly and finds its home in its own. If you hate vacuuming as much as I do but want clean floors BUY THIS ROOMBA! ... show more

  • Not Worth the Hype or the Price
Color: Charcoal
I purchased the Room 692 Robot Vacuum in late June 2024, and after nearly a year of use, I can confidently say: I wish I had returned it. I picked this model because it advertised being great for pet hair and a mix of flooring types. I have two dogs, two kids, and a 2,400 sq ft home with an open floor plan — mostly hard flooring with carpeted bedrooms. On paper, this seemed like the perfect fit. In reality? It’s been nothing but a headache. Let’s start with navigation: it’s awful. This robot wanders aimlessly, circles the same areas repeatedly, and frequently gets stuck or lost trying to find its charging base. Just today, it spent over 30 minutes vacuuming the same three-foot stretch — nowhere near the dock — before dying mid-job. And no, it doesn’t resume cleaning after recharging, even though it’s supposed to. It also doesn’t clean the whole house — not even close. There’s one room it insists on cleaning multiple times in a single cycle, while completely skipping others. There’s no way to “redirect” it or select specific rooms, because the 692 doesn’t have home mapping. You may think, Oh, it’ll get those missed rooms after it recharges. Unfortunately, you’d be wrong. It restarts like it has no memory of what it was doing before. I’ve repositioned the charging base, cleaned the sensors and charging contacts, updated the firmware — nothing has improved its navigation or charging reliability. Most of the time, I end up having to pick it up and carry it back to the charger myself. I genuinely spend more time managing this vacuum than it would take me to just clean the floors myself. The suction? Laughable. The so-called “power-lifting suction” doesn’t pick up much at all, especially on carpet. I have both low and high pile carpet and wasn’t expecting miracles on the high pile — but it struggles even on the low pile. After it finishes a room, I’ve run my regular vacuum over the same area and pulled up way more pet hair and debris than the Roomba managed to collect. Suction power? Laughable. I have both high and low pile carpet, and while I didn’t expect miracles on the high pile, it can’t even handle the low pile. I’ve tested this by running my regular vacuum after the Roomba “finished” cleaning — and the amount of pet hair and debris left behind is honestly ridiculous. The “power-lifting suction” feels more like weak airflow. And yes, I’ve done the upkeep: I’ve cleaned the filters, rollers, sensors, and brush. I’ve even replaced the filter, side brush, bristle roller, and beater brush — all with official parts. No improvement. It is also very loud when it runs. The edge sweeping brush is another disappointment. Don’t expect clean corners or anything near baseboards. It misses those completely, especially around furniture or along cabinets. I initially had it scheduled to clean daily. Then I tried every other day, hoping it would help with the constant errors and getting stuck. Spoiler: it didn’t. It still traps itself behind doors, under furniture, on cords — and for some reason, it thinks it's falling off a cliff despite there being no stairs or thresholds in the house. Another big limitation: the 692 doesn’t map your home. That means you can’t set it to clean specific rooms or avoid areas. It just bumps around randomly, and you hope for the best. For this price point, that’s a major flaw. At the end of the day, I expected better from the iRobot brand. This vacuum feels like it coasts on name recognition, not actual performance. Between the constant issues, the weak cleaning ability, and the lack of smart features, this robot has been more hassle than help. Bottom line: I do not recommend this vacuum — especially if you have pets, kids, or any sort of standards. You’ll end up doing more work, not less. ... show more

  • You can do better on carpets
Color: Black
Our previous old Roomba lasted for quite a number of years, doing a lovely job, but eventually it became more expensive to buy spare parts than to just replace it. While this one does a decent enough job on wood and tile, it’s pretty ineffective on carpet. It collects dust, but nothing solid. For instance, it won’t pick up the kibble my pets spill. If you have many carpets, I suggest getting something with more pick up power. If you only have wood and tile, it’s good. The mopping part is okay, but I’ll rather continue using my mop. ... show more
