I absolutely love these! I bought my first one over 10 years ago, it still works like a champ. I’ve bought rebuild kits for a couple times and a battery once. They are super easy and CHEAP to maintain. They clean amazingly well. The old one was kind of a random motion generator, it just sort of drove around for several hours, and when you’d look at the tracks on the carpet you would think that a toddler had been driving it. But it did the job! The little dust bin would be absolutely full. You wouldn’t think that little tiny motor would be powerful enough to do much good but it really is. I love the functionality of these things, I turn it on and I leave. When I get home the floor is clean, how simple is that! It fits any place you want to, I would suggest you use double back tape to tape the docking station down to the floor though because if it’s not solidly fixed, it will be confused trying to dock itself and recharge as the dock scoots around. I just recently bought two more, they are even better than my old one! They were not terribly expensive, so I bought one for my daughter for Christmas and a second one for us. We use this new one upstairs at our business where a lot of us bring dogs to work so you can imagine the dog here. You don’t realize how much dog hair is on your floor until you have one of these things running around every other day picking it up! I use them primarily on hard floors, but it does equally well on carpet. One odd thing though, my upstairs of my house has an extremely high-quality extremely dense carpet and I cannot use it up there because it leaves really bad deep tracks where the wheels continue to run the same path over and over. but on regular low carpeting, normal quality, it does just fine and does not leave deep tracks. It does a great job on all these carpets when it comes to cleaning though, it’s just my complaint about the tires leaving tracks in my deep carpet that I don’t like. The last thing, do not use these on a very deep shag! My daughter had one a few years ago that she used on an area rug that had really crazy deep shag, (so deep that it actually laid over because the strands were about an inch and a half long.) It choked that thing down terribly and ruined it. So do not use it on extremely long shag style carpets. Only use it on very tightly woven carpet or hard floors If you will look at the photo, this is an example of what I’m trying to describe about my upstairs carpet. It’s extremely dense and these are the indentations that chair legs leave. They clear themselves up in just a few minutes, but the Roomba would continue to grind those tire tracks in every day Which did not look like it was real good for my carpet. So do not use a Roomba on an extremely dense carpet

Our Shark just stopped working and we replaced it with this IRobot Roomba 104. We made a great decision, quality, suction power, smart navigation , long battery run time. I loaded the app, charged the unit and first start this unit mapped my floor plan and then cleaned everything. The cleaning power is much better than the Shark, solid unit, at a much better price. This unit works it way around every inch, rugs, laminate floors, kitchen island. The unit even tells me if it gets stuck, or it runs low on power it goes back to its charger, recharges and returns where it left off, incredible. Easy to program, long battery life, powerful suction and smart nav, cleaner floors and carpets. Happy wife, happy life.

Great so far! Picks up great, and tracks the rooms like supposed to. Like that I can change suction per room as needed per traffic. Only issue had was the side spinning brush kept running and wouldn't stop even afyer flipping it over and taking tank and both brushes off, app said was stuck but was just infront of closet nothing under it. Trying to reset/ turn off didn't work as well to get it off till I held it for like 2 mins straight after multiple tries. Trying to get their customer service was annoying not the right option I needed and hold time said 5 then 10 mins and after 14 mins hung up after getting it to turn off.

So far I love this. For being on the lower end of the price scale, I cannot tell. I have 3 dogs and a cat and it does a really good job at picking up hair/dirt. It is really easy to start from my phone and it works anywhere in my house to start it. I can choose for it to do a single room, or all of the rooms. It goes over rugs with no issue either.

I purchased the Room 692 Robot Vacuum in late June 2024, and after nearly a year of use, I can confidently say: I wish I had returned it. I picked this model because it advertised being great for pet hair and a mix of flooring types. I have two dogs, two kids, and a 2,400 sq ft home with an open floor plan — mostly hard flooring with carpeted bedrooms. On paper, this seemed like the perfect fit. In reality? It’s been nothing but a headache. Let’s start with navigation: it’s awful. This robot wanders aimlessly, circles the same areas repeatedly, and frequently gets stuck or lost trying to find its charging base. Just today, it spent over 30 minutes vacuuming the same three-foot stretch — nowhere near the dock — before dying mid-job. And no, it doesn’t resume cleaning after recharging, even though it’s supposed to. It also doesn’t clean the whole house — not even close. There’s one room it insists on cleaning multiple times in a single cycle, while completely skipping others. There’s no way to “redirect” it or select specific rooms, because the 692 doesn’t have home mapping. You may think, Oh, it’ll get those missed rooms after it recharges. Unfortunately, you’d be wrong. It restarts like it has no memory of what it was doing before. I’ve repositioned the charging base, cleaned the sensors and charging contacts, updated the firmware — nothing has improved its navigation or charging reliability. Most of the time, I end up having to pick it up and carry it back to the charger myself. I genuinely spend more time managing this vacuum than it would take me to just clean the floors myself. The suction? Laughable. The so-called “power-lifting suction” doesn’t pick up much at all, especially on carpet. I have both low and high pile carpet and wasn’t expecting miracles on the high pile — but it struggles even on the low pile. After it finishes a room, I’ve run my regular vacuum over the same area and pulled up way more pet hair and debris than the Roomba managed to collect. Suction power? Laughable. I have both high and low pile carpet, and while I didn’t expect miracles on the high pile, it can’t even handle the low pile. I’ve tested this by running my regular vacuum after the Roomba “finished” cleaning — and the amount of pet hair and debris left behind is honestly ridiculous. The “power-lifting suction” feels more like weak airflow. And yes, I’ve done the upkeep: I’ve cleaned the filters, rollers, sensors, and brush. I’ve even replaced the filter, side brush, bristle roller, and beater brush — all with official parts. No improvement. It is also very loud when it runs. The edge sweeping brush is another disappointment. Don’t expect clean corners or anything near baseboards. It misses those completely, especially around furniture or along cabinets. I initially had it scheduled to clean daily. Then I tried every other day, hoping it would help with the constant errors and getting stuck. Spoiler: it didn’t. It still traps itself behind doors, under furniture, on cords — and for some reason, it thinks it's falling off a cliff despite there being no stairs or thresholds in the house. Another big limitation: the 692 doesn’t map your home. That means you can’t set it to clean specific rooms or avoid areas. It just bumps around randomly, and you hope for the best. For this price point, that’s a major flaw. At the end of the day, I expected better from the iRobot brand. This vacuum feels like it coasts on name recognition, not actual performance. Between the constant issues, the weak cleaning ability, and the lack of smart features, this robot has been more hassle than help. Bottom line: I do not recommend this vacuum — especially if you have pets, kids, or any sort of standards. You’ll end up doing more work, not less.
