Wow! Affordable Roomba with impressive Power, performance, and precision. It is also incredibly quiet while cleaning , so you can still hear yourself think and carry on a conversation. I can't believe iRobot has finally come out with a more affordable Roomba that has the same amount of power and versatility as the older more expensive models from previous generations. I had the 980, and a j7+, both have provided me with years of reliable service with routine cleaning and maintenance. This new 105 combo is just as powerful at 1/3 the price and does the same job with the versatility of including a mop and a docking station to self empty the trash and charge is amazing. iRobot has really ramped up its game. The mop feature is quick and easy to clean and refill the liquid compartment and it is able to both vacuum and mop at the same time which is an incredible future and then self-dock and empty the bin and charge on its own. The integrated app through iRobot allows you to control everything when you're not home so you're home can be perfectly clean when you return and not have to worry about cleaning with a busy schedule. The 105 combo, makes life easier for your home and family at a very affordable price. I highly recommend this 105 combo Roomba, over other more expensive models. I am really surprised by the good reviews. This device is a disaster. I've owned it for about 80 days, and it just doesn't work. I wish I never bought it. I have an older Rooma, that is decent, that is why I stuck with the brand. This Roomba fails to connect to my internet. It simply will not vacuum or mop when this happens. It is about 30 feet, in a direct line (no walls) from my router. But it simply will not connect to my internet. I have had to reboot/reset it 4 times. Each time, after I get it to connect, it remaps my house. I have spent several hours rebooting, resetting and online trying to get this to work properly. It is just awful. I've spent more time doing this than the Roomba has vacuumed or mopped. Two apps. My old Roomba has an APP, but the new Roomba can't use it. The old Roomba can't use the new APP. I should have returned it the day I realized this. That's on me. I send it to a specific room. It goes somewhere else, really? My old Roomba does this too. Insane. It can't find the base. When vacuuming, it often just goes and goes and does not go back to the base. It dies; I have to find it and put it back. Vacuuming is OK (when it works). I'd give it a C+/B-. Robot vacuums are weak, so I knew it wouldn't get an A, but my other Roomba does a much better job. Mopping is bad. F to D+ at best. Often, I ask it to mop only, and it vacuums. After a mop job, I pick it up and the pad is dry, but there is fluid in the tank. It is still under warranty, and I am trying to get it replaced. Not sure what my options are. If the company does me right, I'll update this review. ... show more

I have owned several different robot vacuums in the past decade but the iRobot Roomba Combo j6+AE stands out in several key areas. Its mapping and tracking capabilities surpasses other vacuums, probably the best I’ve experienced so far. I love how it identifies what has been cleaned and where it still needs to go. It’s also impressively quiet, even on tiled, uneven flooring. This is a must for me since I have a toddler who is a very light sleeper and my Roomba is scheduled to clean during nap time. That said, it does have a few areas of improvement. The battery life is less than ideal. My home isn’t very big yet the vacuum needs to recharge between rooms, extending the time it takes to clean. It also tends to struggle transitioning between hard flooring and shaggy rugs. It doesn’t always climb onto the area rugs smoothly and when it does, the suctioning power isn’t as powerful as expected. As for the mop feature, it’s a great idea and helps maintain floors clean between floor scrubbing. However, it will only clean lightly soiled floors as it utilizes a moistened microfiber pad to clean. It is great for maintenance cleaning, but it will not be able to handle jobs that require scrubbing such as tougher to clean sticky spots or grime as it ends up dragging it across the floors. In addition, the Roomba will not vacuum rugs or carpeted areas when in vac & mop function. Overall, the Roomba Combo j5+ AE is a convenient robot vacuum/mop combo with laser precision mapping and low noise level. It does a great job on daily floor maintenance but as most technology, there is room for improvement with the battery life, area rug performance and mopping/scrubbing effectiveness. ... show more
