These virtual wall barriers work great in both "wall" and "halo" mode. As others have said in their reviews, there are no instructions with the items. When I first tried to use them, they didn't seem to work and I was concerned that I did something wrong. I searched the internet for some type of instructions and found a You Tube video explaining how to use them. I followed the instructions and they worked perfectly in both modes. This is what I discovered: 1 - The lights at the top only light up/blink when first turned on and when the battery is low. 2 - The white stripe on the top of the units must be facing each other in order for the "wall" mode to function. The iRobot stops and turns around when it senses the virtual wall. I have used these in both modes and find the the "wall" mode seems to work best for my area. I will be purchasing additional units for other rooms of my home.

I use these to focus the vacuum on specific areas. They worked good. I find that small hand dumbbells also help with keeping the vacuum from getting stuck under some of my furniture.

I purchased these virtual barriers to use with Roomba e5 series and s9+ vacuums. This set arrives complete with batteries. No instructions were included, but they are pretty intuitive to use. Push the switch upward for a linear barrier, push it downward for a halo barrier, put it in the middle to turn it off. There are little icons next to the switch to show this. There is a soft ring of LED light near the top that illuminates to confirm it’s on. The virtual barriers work perfectly with our Roomba vacuums to keep them out of specific areas. They’re pricey, like all Roomba accessories, but cost a little less by purchasing the pair.

Great product overall. what i like these are a little expensive but worth not chasing around the Roomba every time it's stuck. fast ship what i don't like battery life can be an issue. Roomba is made to set a schedule and forget it so you are not going to turn off and on these every time so battery runs down quick.

These little devices are way too expensive. The battery runs down to quickly and there is no battery level indicator. You know the battery is drained when your irobot gets stuck. The effective range of the single straight barrier is more like 7 feet on a NEW battery rather than the 10 they claim. The fact these are even needed is stupid. I can schedule when the unit is to run, but I have to remember to plan ahead and put out these barriers and block off all the other areas where it gets stuck. The whole reason these barriers exist is because of the poor mapping capabilities of irobot.

The Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier iRobot Authentic works perfectly. I received one in a package with new Roomba I ordered. Worked great, but one was not sufficient -I had to move it to other areas. I ordered two more so I dont need to move the barriers. I place these in areas where I dont want Roomba to go, such as around a fireplace or under a computer desk where all electrical connections are. Very easy to use, small and looks fine -most time you dont notice it. I don't know about the battery life since I have used it for couple months only. Description online indicates a good battery life period. I do think it is expensive. But worth it

The virtual walls are great if you want to limit the roomba cleaning to a single area. I used them when family gatherings in a single area to focus the cleaning to that room, after room is clean I just remove the virtual wall and the roomba continues to the next area!!!

Battery life is lame. Expensive IR device. Easy to use with iRobot products. After the bot mapped my home and got stuck a few times I picked up one of these. I now had two. It’s easier using https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FZXLN5C/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 to secure any wires behind the TV or to the wall. The price of these is exorbitantly high for what it does.
