  • Great Ladder
I'm about 3 days into the whole Intex world and gotta say... these guys have it down! Their polls are easy to assemble and the ladder was pretty easy. The instructions aren't as bad as Ikea instructions but not as great as some higher end products I've used. The instruction book is small and as I get older it's harder for me to see small print/pictures. BUT it's easy to install. You almost need no tools (you will need a screw driver and a driver set or plyers to hold the nut). Just easy. For us, it's a bit tall as we have the 10' x 30" Intex Prism, but we wanted a ladder we could "grow" into. As we plan to upgrade to a larger pool next year (we got bit by the Intex bug!). Just a great ladder. I like how it lets you remove the outter stairs and store them. This way I don't have to keep removing the ladder. We put a mat down inside to help protect the liner of course. But hopefully this lasts. We'll get used to climbing so high to get over a 30" wall, but it is what it is. We knew that going in and it's fine. ... show more

  • I'd like to make one note though
I bought this ladder to replace the original ladder that came with the pool. After 2 years, the original was bending at the base and broke. Putting the ladder together was a breeze. It's much sturdier than the original as well. The deck and detachable ladder make this a must have! I'd like to make one note though. I bought this ladder because they said in numerous reviews that it would fit on a 48" pool even though it's listed as 36"-42". When placing this on a level surface meaning the ground on the inside of the pool is at the same level as the outside of the pool, it does not fit on my 48" pool, the deck sits flush on the top of the pool and the ladder will only touch on one side, the inside or the outside of the pool. It's only about an inch off though so it's really close. It's not a problem for me because the ground on one side of my pool is higher than the ground on the other. I had to level the ground so I dug out a circle with about 6 inches of extra clearance all the way around, so the pool sits lower in the ground on one end than it does on the other. Placing the ladder on that end it fits perfectly, although the deck is at a slight angle inward toward the pool due to the outside sitting higher than the inside. Saved $60 from buying the 48-52 inch version so maybe it'll work for you too. ... show more

  • Great ladder!
We have a 30" pool for a 4-year-old. The ladder is a little overkill for this pool, but we hope to get deeper pools as he grows. It looks like it will be a while (if ever) before we outgrow it. I love the safety feature which allows you to remove the outside ladder to make it more difficult for a child to access the pool. It's not something to rely on (4-year-olds are wily creatures), but it helps. The instructions were a bit vague, the pictures are tiny, so we had a number of starts, take apart moments, and redoes. In the end, the video on this page and the pictures really helped us put together the beast. Our 4-year-old is 42" tall and can get in and out fairly easily. A smaller child would find it challenging. ... show more

  • Wobbly and top is too narrow - not happy with this ladder!
I read all the reviews I could find for this ladder. The one that came with my pool was rusting badly and they're not great quality, so I figured this had to be an improvement. Wrong! It was pretty easy to put together except the platform (I had a hard time pushing the poles through the holes so my son in law had to come over and gorilla them). I have a 42" pool and this could be a bit shorter. The steps are a bit wider and the ladder felt more sturdy overall - at least while testing it in the living room. Maiden voyage - got to the top and because the handles are so high I HAD to step on the platform and stand up straighter than I felt comfortable with - just to get through. The platform area between handles is too narrow and the platform is too deep to step over onto the first step in the pool. The ladder was wobbling (even though it's on firm ground) so the stability and ease I'd hoped just for wasn't there. Update: Had a much lighter friend use the ladder this week. She's in great shape so figured she'd do fine, but she also felt unsafe at the top of the ladder. Wish I'd kept my rusty, cheesy one that came with the pool! UPDATE: It hasn't even been a year and it's got some major rust. I mean chunks falling off. I have ordered the original ladder that comes with all pools and would NEVER recommend this one to anyone. ... show more

  • Perfect!
I bought this ladder for a Funsicle 15’ x 36” pool and it’s exactly what I needed. It was easy to assemble and even comes with extra hardware. I really like the removable steps. It’s a GREAT safety feature especially if you have a pool in a yard without a secure fence or have small children. I do have a secure tall fence, but I still feel better being able to remove the steps so easily when I’m not using the pool. ... show more

  • Not very kid friendly
The ladder is sturdy enough, however I had to get a 12 x 24 board and put it across the top to form a plank so the kids wouldn’t fall through.

  • Sturdy and TALL
I made a mistake, because this ladder is FAR too tall for my pool (3 feet), and I ended up lashing it to the pool frame with twine so it would not topple over. Which worked very well. And the error was entirely mine. The ladder itself is very sturdy. It has wider steps than the ladders that come with most pools, it has a wide base, and the step on top is bigger than it looks in the picture. I can sit on it, and my sitter is right ample, so that's saying something. I had a hard time putting it together, but I enlisted the aid of a family member who grew up on Legos, and he had it all together in minutes. ... show more
