This pump saved our pool!! I was using the original little dinky pump that came with the pool and it just couldn't circulate the water fast enough and the algae would collect on the bottom and sides. My son purchased a 12X20 Bestway pool wich came with its own water pump but was only okay for 2 weeks and a ton of shock chlorine. I’m a bit OCD and did my research. I was not tempted to sit in that dirty pool anymore :( I purchased this Intex 2800 and sand-after 24-48 hours the pool was so clean! In addition we used a pool brush and vacumm to remove early algae from walls and floor. We also vacummed sand, dirt, hair ect. My kids go in there and maltipoos. We have pump on daily 8-10 only. And we drain the dirty water thru the release valve weekly or as needed. If the suction is low you know it’s time to drain the accumulated dirty water inside pump. It’s very easy to install and use. I def recommend it!

I was skeptical at first because this filter didn’t fit our smaller Coleman pool without adapters, but after ordering the adapters and getting it hooked up, I am beyond impressed. We were running a cartridge filter for about 10 hours every night, and the water still looked murky. After switching to this Intex sand filter pump, the difference was unbelievable. The “before” photo shows how cloudy the water was, and the “after” video was taken after only ONE HOUR of run time. The water was crystal clear in 1 hour !! This sand filter outperforms our old cartridge filter by a mile. The setup was worth the extra effort, and now our pool stays clean and clear with much less maintenance. If you’re struggling with cloudy water, I highly recommend making the switch.

Best purchase for the summer pool. I live on a well.. cartridge filters DO NOT WORK for well water. They fill almost immediately with the iron and metal and minerals. The pool stayed brown. As soon as I introduced this sand filter, after 24 hrs of metal sequestrant, my pool went from brown to CLEAR. I never seen anything so magical. It has kept my pool clean and clear ever since. The only things that was a bummer is a peice was cracked, and a peice was missing. There was no valve for the water to stop going in when you need to provide maintenance to the pump, it doesnt come with 2 tubes for if you dont have intex brand and have 2 hoses for water to feed the pump. And it doesnt come with 2 bolts that are required for assembly.

I have to review this. Last year I fought to keep my pool clean. The pump and fi!her that cam with the pool was really in adequate. This spring when I started getting my pool ready the pump wouldn't run more than an hour and shut off. I thought since it was so dirty I would drain the pool clean it and refill. So it wouldn't have to work so hard. So four days later fresh clean water pump set up running part time still. With in a couple of weeks my pool was turn I green again. Definitely not happy. Time for a new filter system. Bought this sand filter. Had it set up and running in a very short time. My pool is so clear I love it. Because of my job and where we live I decided not to run it for a couple of days wanted to save a little and was wanting to vacuum it. Big mistake pool started turning green. My husband wasn't happy. LOL waste of my money and time. Bit I said nope just watch it will be clean in 24 hours. Turned it back on vacuumed and ran it overnight. Pool Crystal clear next day. Best money I have ever spent. Thank you.

I ordered this Intex pool pump on June 1, 2024, and it completely stopped working on August 27, 2026. I contacted Intex by phone. They said the pump was only covered by a two-year warranty. While I understand the warranty terms, I’m very disappointed that a pump costing this much only lasted for approximately 7 months of use. We have a very short pool season, so the pump is only used for a few months each year. In terms of actual use. The only solution they offered was a 10% discount on a replacement motor, which would still cost approximately $190. I don’t feel that is a reasonable resolution for a product that failed after such a relatively short amount of use. Overall, I’m very unhappy with this purchase and disappointed with the customer service. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this pump.

Awesome upgrade to my 12' round 30" high Intex pool. The pump that comes with Intext pools is weak and pathetic. This pump, however, is a beast. Very much worth the money to upgrade. The suction keeps my pool clear of debris and blasts the filtered water back into the pool so hard that I had to put an angled cover on the outlet.
