We recently purchased a rice cooker from another company, I won't name it but you might say that their art is cuisine. Rice was fine but it always boiled over. Washed rice, soaked it, didn't wash, tried different brands, made a smaller amount, added butter or olive oil which is supposed to dissipate the bubbles, didn't matter. We returned it and got this product (8-cup). It's flawless. Never boils over, rice is excellent, simple to use. One thing to be mindful of is on the side under the hinge is a small white plastic water receptacle which appears to catch runoff from the lid when opened. Just remember to empty that every use or so. Couldn't be happier and worth every penny! Truly set it and forget it, beeps when rice is done, cleanup is a breeze. ... show more

    • Simple and easy to use rice cooker.

The Instant Zest rice cooker is basic but adequate in its performance. I have used a couple of frankly cheap rice cooker and it's true you get what you pay for. Those cheap cookers, no more than $25 spued, hissed, and foamed with rice sticking to the pot's bottom. I just wasn't going to spring for a$200 fuzzy logic rice cooker. The Instant Zest has none of the issues of the cheap rice cookers and can be purchased in the $50 to $40 range. If you have an Instant Pot it will cook rice to, but it's much to large and difficult to clean whereas the Zest can be cleaned up with a damp sponge and takes up little space on your counter. Its features are basic , but it cooks good rice steams shrimp for fried rice and heats frozen tamales in no time. ... show more

The rice cooker looks great. Looks like a mini-Instant Pot. The controls are super simple to see and use. The whole thing has a very clean look to it which goes well with our Kitchen decor. The pot itself is easy to clean and so far after 5 months of use shows no signs of wear. It still looks brand new after daily use. I haven't had any issues with it and really love the look of it. I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a new rice cooker for repeated-daily use that you can leave out on your counter. ... show more

This rice cooker works very well. It is exactly what I needed. I can set it in advance with a delayed start and after coming back from work the fluffy warm rice is waiting for me. It is also not too big and doesn't take too much space. Price is OK.
