    • First impression is this is AMAZING!
Just got this today and had to test it out. I've had the same 450W Oster blender for over 15 years now and it was starting to leak and get bogged down so it was time for an upgrade. Saw the sale price for this Ninja and couldn't resist. Considering what my old unit was, it probably doesn't take much to impress me but this thing is great. Packaging is good. The box had some dings but everything inside was perfect. The stickers they put on the pieces have "peel here" sections that lift easily - no residue! Everything goes together and comes apart quickly and easily. Cleaning this is a breeze compared to the Oster. Doing quick cleans between recipes was SO fast. When you take the discs out of their cardboard sleeves, exercise caution when pulling the tabs. The edges are obviously not sharp but the faces are and I can see someone shredding a fingertip or two. The suction feet on the base are very strong. It takes some effort to move it once it's been placed. Also, there is a lot of air flow. Don't keep powdery ingredients too close or you'll end up with a dust storm. I had an empty 2 cup tupperware dish next to it and it blew it 4 inches across the counter during a smoothie cycle. To test vibration, we used it on a towel first. For being about 3 times as powerful as my old one, it's surprisingly still and much quieter. The IQ mode functions well, but it takes a little getting used to the pausing. Time will tell if I continue to love this but at the moment, it seems like it was a solid purchase. ... show more

Works great. The smoothie container is great. The little rotating tamper that help move the fruit etc. down into the actual blending blades is super helpful. Noisy, but most blenders are pretty loud. Quite pleased with the purchase so far. (Side note: The company was very helpful in correcting the order when the wrong model was shipped.) ... show more

    • Amazing blender and smoothie maker.
I bought this specifically to make smoothies as an evening meal every now and then. No issues at all with the power, it grinds through ice and frozen bananas and other fruits without skiping a beat. I used the smoothie setting once, didn't like it. I prefer to just use pulse. My wife has also used it to make tomato sauce, she lives it so much better than the immersion blender for that specific purpose. It's faster and did a great job. One comment is that I don't have my recipes down just yet, so I often have to add something to balance it out or thin it out. Using the smoothie jar can be a bit messy opening it to add ingredients. I've gotten better at it but still keep a towel handy to clean it off before putting it back to blend some more. I'm going to start weighing ingredients so the results are more consistent. The suction cups on the feet are also a bit of a pain. It's good they are so strong, but it takes a bit of effort to get them to release. I keep an offset spatula to make it easier to put away, and put a mat in the drawer to make it easier to get out. Neither issue is worth reducing the rating, is just something good to know about. We already have food processors and mixers, so I doubt if we'll ever use all the attachments that came with it. But I don't regret having them just in case. I cant say enough about this multi function blender! My fav is the shredding. I shredded 3 blocks of cheese in less than 1minute! No more sore arms! Also the sip & carry cup the attach directly to blender! I have used the bread attachment. This a joy to have in the kitchen. Worth every dollar!

    • WORKS VERY WELL
Unpacked my blender - read instructions and immediately started using - I had an older Ninja blender that I bought 10 yrs ago. It still work. How ever on the new blender I made some chicken soup and had to slice carrots and celery and a bit of potato - I am telling you it sliced them like a champ (so much better than my knife and a lot less time). I cleaned up the mixing jug and then made a softey drink and it made the drink so so so smooth with not a chuck left. It my old blender you could see pieces of fruit. I also like the base with the big center control knob - it is easy to use on both the iq and manuel phase. The controls on the front make it easy to clean. My older one had lots of buttons and was a pain to clean. So happy I have extra space on counter because I no longer need my food processor. Base is very stable. Only think I can say is when it makes a smoothie there is some noise level - however because of the results I take it ... show more

I had been using this product for about a month - worked flawlessly. Then, I went to use the disc upside down (The Shredder) and that's when the machine stopped and I smelled plastic. The disc had melted a bit - not sure what's going on (and of course, I didn't purchase the protection plan). Guess I will need to replace the disc somehow. ... show more

I love this blender, I have had it for about 2 years and I don't know what I would have done without this in my life. This works for so many different things, I use it to make sofrito monthly, shakes, margaritas, smoothies, to crush up what I make my special fried chicken batter with and more.
