I purchased this playpen to use for kitten fostering. The instructions are not very user friendly. I was able to put it together by myself but it took a bit of trial and error and much frustration and time. The kittens I'm fostering have ringworm so I wanted something that would allow me to keep them contained to a defined area. The biggest issue for my intended use is that it's not easy to access the inside for cleaning at all. The doors are very small. Despite having a smaller frame, getting my shoulders through the door to lean in to try to access to clean is a tight fit and because of the location of the doors it's impossible for me to access all areas inside for cleaning. The doors are secure so long as you make sure it's latched completely and then insert the provided clip however I have on several occasions thought it was latched and inserted the clip only to come in later to find the kittens out of the playpen because it in fact wasn't actually latched. I won't try to use this for fostering kittens again and once they're released for adoption I'll probably just try to sell it. It may be fine for the intended purpose of chickens outdoors but figured I'd thow it out there for anyone like me who is always looking for something to use for kitten fostering that it doesn't work great for that purpose. Edited to add that it's also extremely difficult to access kittens who are trying to evade you using this enclosure. ... show more

I got this to put a few Turkey poults in for some fresh air during the day and later used it for ducklings for the same reason. It was pretty easy to put together and very easy to move to fresh grass. There is good access to a corner to put food and water. However, it was not considered by me to be safe for night time use when the raccoons are out. I feel like it would be too easy for them to gain access to the birds. And, it is difficult to get the birds out every evening. I had to almost crawl inside to be able to grab them. Overall I love it and intend to use it every spring. ... show more

This worked out really well as a little run acclimating chicks to being outside. We used it half and then full length as they grew. Easy enough to put together - the only thing I was confused about was a skinny metal rod - I think it was intended as a perch but we didn’t use it. I’ve had this run for my chickens for several months now and it has held up great. The instructions were a little confusing but my husband and I figured it out. Took probably less than 30 minutes to put together.

    • Great price a little flimsy
Great price but a tad flimsy. The bar in the middle doesn’t offer much support. The zip ties basically hold it together so if you want to move it around the yard, you’ll need 2-3 people so you don’t pull it apart. Multiple doors which is very nice (especially the top door so you can get in and change food or water without the chickens running out. Wish the tarp was a little larger for more shade as we’ve been having 100+ degree weather and it gets so hot! We got it just so our chickens would have more of a run space in the yard during the day so they go between this product and their actual coop. ... show more

I bought this to give my hens a little more space to graze. I live in Minnesota and would not trust this if I lived where I had to worry about predetors such as snakes or coyotes but for inside my fenced backyard it works great. I used my hog ring plyers instead of plastic zip ties. Very light weight and easy to move. ... show more
