  • VERY NICE WOK AND INDUCTION COOKER
Purchase this from Amazon. With few reviews I was a bit worried. However, the wok and induction burner is really excellent. Wok is very nice stainless steel with ceramic hex clad. Thru 5 or 6 Cooks it is doing well. Nice controls of temp and power. Oh high, my wok reaches 600 degrees. Makes for very good searing. I don't write many reviews. This combo is so outstanding, I felt it should pass on my thoughts. ... show more

  • Bring your Wok indoors with this Induction Wok Station
Induction plates have been my preferred range top cooking method for the last 8 years. The benefits are greater control, greater efficiency, and less heat in the kitchen. Simply put induction puts the heat in the cookware not everywhere. This Wok induction plate solves one of the problems of induction heating systems, they normally don’t accommodate curved pans. The plate has all the standard security features of an induction plate – error message shut off, incremental settings, stand by, etc. – and will work with other Woks that are made out of the right metal for an induction surface. If it is the wrong metal it will kick the error code. As you can see I tested this with one of my Woks which brings me to the other problem that this Wok induction plate has solved for me, finding an indoor surface I can use my woks on. So if you already love to use a Wok and want to come indoors with it you can see the upside of this. The wok that comes with this is Hex clad. If you are not familiar with Hex clad, it is a hexagon pattern non-stick surface. The process creates small hexagons that are bound by untreated (raised ridges with the non-stick) that, with a small amount of oil or fat, creates a very similar pan feel to working with a traditional wok. After assembling the wok – you have to screw in the handle – and giving it a thorough cleaning I decided to test it out with a stir fry of new potatoes, herbs fresh picked from the garden, some cob cut bacon, eggs, peanuts, avocado oil, and a finishing sauce. The hex clad induction wok is large – see picture in sink – and has all the zones you are used to working with. After sweating the bacon one section above the bottom I worked in the potatoes, oils, herbs and other seasonings. The zone control was excellent and I was able to move more and less cooked items in and out regions to get a uniform cook. The eggs acted the same way they do when I use my traditional wok outside on a propane tripod or an open flame. It is a full sized (think really large family) wok and can do a full family gathering; think family reunion. With my second wok – the non-clad one I had that is compatible with this induction plate – I can move from one course to the next without missing a beat. At its current price point (199) this is either a primary cooking station for you or an upgrade addition to your kitchen. Given what you can do with this wok – or with two woks – the primary cooking station option is a very good reason to get this. Clean up was a breeze and the pan hangs on our storage rack in its cover bag, awaiting its return to duty. ... show more

  • Nice but heavy
I used this for an office potluck and while I liked hot easy it was to use, it’s very heavy. The pan and plate are large, which works well when cooking for a lot of people. I’m bringing it along for camping this summer to help with mealtime for 5 families. It’s cleaned up well and I like that I can pack it up shortly after turning it off. ... show more

  • Great for curved bottom woks
Our household is trying to get away from using the gas stove in our kitchen for safety and concern for indoor pollutants. We have a flat induction cooktop which works great for our flat-bottomed pots and pans but I really missed using my carbon steel curved bottom wok. Then ran across this induction cooktop. The burner surface of this cooktop is concave so it can accept curve-bottomed woks. The cooktop comes with a hex-patterned non-stick wok. I've used the included wok and it works fine but with any non-stick pan, I do worry that it will start to stick as we use it more. Which comes to the main reason for getting this cooktop - so I can use my curve-bottomed carbon steel wok. It doesn't fit the curvature of the cooktop exactly but it works quite well for heating up the wok. There is nice temperature control and an advantage of induction cooking is how quickly it heats up. Another advantage is safety because once I remove the wok from the cooktop, after a few seconds it will show a warning message and will turn off. The controls work pretty well. There is a power button to turn it on then the dial will control heating level. It always defaults to watts of power but I prefer temperature reading so wish there was a way to always default to temperature instead. It's not a huge problem as just pressing the selector button will change between watts or temperature. I am so happy to be able to use my carbon steel wok on an induction cooktop now. It heats up so much faster than the gas stove and I feel safer about not having an open flame or gas use in the house now. Attached pictures show how the included wok and my carbon steel wok fit on the induction cooktop. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty Wok! Great Induction Cooktop!
Induction cooktop is by far my favorite way to cook. This cooktop is very nice, it has a lot of power. I have been using induction for 8 years and hadn’t been able to use a wok. I was so excited to see this combo. The wok is very heavy duty! This isn’t your average wok. You can also use other induction ready pots on this if you wanted. I definitely recommend this! ... show more

  • Great idea and seems to work well.
FINALLY an induction cooker that can handle a REAL wok (which also comes with this cooktop! While the curve of the cooktop itself doesn't "nestle" or hold the wok closely (it definitely can move around a lot; the wok is much smaller than the cooktop), it seems to work much better than a flat-bottomed wok. Screwing the handle onto the wok made me feel a bit uneasy, like I was going to strip the screw, but it did successfully screw in nice and tight. The wok heats up VERY quickly, and it's great to have so many options for wattage, temperature, etc. The wok also seems to have a quality, easy-to-clean, non-stick surface. While I use other induction cooktops for regular pans, having one specifically made for a wok is fantastic! So far, I'm loving this set, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys cooking with a wok! ... show more
