Update: Had to take off two stars. Before the return period ended, the fan stopped. Sometimes it would come on, sometimes it wouldn't. There was no rhyme or reason. To Amazon's credit, got a replacement, and I will update. I think it may be a situation of it's not bad for the money, but you have to be aware of what you are getting for the money spent. I still recommend trying it if this is your price range, but I will update if it fails again. Original review: I was surprised that this grill is the quality it is for the price. Whenever you buy a brand you might not know, it is a risk, however so far I love this grill. The finish looks nice in my kitchen, the controls are easy to use, and it really is "smokeless"! (We know that the smoke doesn't disappear, but this does help it dissipate). This grill looks like it costs much more than it does. The paint is done well, and the glass lid adds a nice touch. The controls are very easy to figure out, as you just tap the temperature controls until it reaches the heat you want. It also heats up within about five minutes or so, and I like that. Another nice feature is that even if you turn the heat off, you can keep the fan on to keep clearing leftover smoke. Finally, I can say in my first tests at least, there really is very little smoke. There is a fan button, and when you turn it on in combination with the glass lid, it sucks the smoke down. Of course, it can't make the smoke disappear, but it does dissipate it underneath so that the kitchen doesn't get filled up with smoke. A couple of other things I noticed: The non-stick grill is nice and big enough to handle quite a bit of food. It is also recessed an inch or so, making it possible to have bigger items on the grill with the lid placed on top. Underneath, there is an angled drip pan that literally has a "drain," in the middle, and this allows drippings to go right into a plastic pan below. This is actually a great feature, because in the past I have had grills with drip pans, but the whole pan just becomes a mess. Also, the fan is not just a small round fan, but runs the length of the grill underneath to really take smoke out from all parts of the grill. The only negative critique I would give is that the cord is a little too short, and although in the pictures the finish makes this look metal, the outer casing and some other parts are actually plastic. One piece of advice- I have had similar grills before that were not this nice. Once I started cleaning the non-stick surface, over time the coating rubbed off, and this caused food to stick. When food sticks, you get a lot more smoke. So, don't use something too abrasive to clean the non-stick surface. The bottom line is that I highly recommend this grill. I will update this review after I have used it for a few months, so I can see how durable it is over time. For now though, if you are looking for a great indoor grill, I recommend this one! ... show more

    • Not at all what I expected
It's not that this product doesn't do a good job it's it doesn't do the job it is marked to do. This is a glorified electric griddle. It comes with two plates one with and one without holes. The flat plate is inconvenient to use compared to a standard flattop griddle do to it being recessed do to fan vents making it difficult to flip eggs or pancakes or the like. The actual grill plate has tiny little ridges to add the "grill marks" and never seem to get hot enough to add those marks in the first place. It is also very small I cooked 3 normal size burgers and they took the whole space up. Lastly cleaning after those burgers was an arduous chore. There is the grill plate a catch plate under that and a water plate under that and the whole unit on top of that. Much easier to use a standard griddle and just clean the griddle and catch. If you're having trouble with smoke a fan is a better option than this grill. ... show more

I am a Pitmaster by trade (you can check out all my smokey goodness on Instagram @ hash tag "thekingofwings") and I purchased this grill to simply have another option to fill the need for "bbq" when the weather in the Northeast during the 7 months of Winter makes Smoking / Grilling a challange on occasions. I will say that overall this product does NOT disappoint in what it is designed to do....allowing you to "grill" food inside without the smoke and it does it well!! I perfer to cook my food to temp, low & slow, just like I would on any one of 6 smokers and this grill certainlly delivers. I cooked both the Wings & Beef Ribs in the photos at 250 degress (cover on) for 1 hour 15 minutes for the Wings & 2 hours for the Ribs and the results shown in the pics speak for themselves. Although you do not get any of the "bbq" flavor as you would with Charcoal and Wood the food still came out AMAZING...Crisp, Tender, Mosit & Delicious!! The unit pre-heats quickly, keeps temp perfectly and although a bit on the smaller size is perfect for a family of 3 or less. It is a breeze to clean if you have a dishwasher and would not be much of a challange if you do not as the design certainly makes it easy to wash by hand also. The only thing I would improve on is the lid, it could definitely be more of a Dome shape to allow for larger cuts of meats to be cooked low & slow with the lid on as the space between the Grill Plate and the Lid is limited. That and like many other people have mentioned there is no clear instruction on the best way to put the handle on the lid espeically since the lid top is curved and the handle ends that attach are straight. Huh!?!?! Outside of that this grill is great, and did I forget to mention "smoke"?!?! No I did not, as there simply is none. I am sure that if you run the Temp at Max to Sear meats there would be some smoke, but for everyday cooking there is none at all. And one last thing....the unit turned itself off at exactly 2 hours into a cook. This I am sure is a Safety Future but there was not mention of it anywhere in the limited instructions so I thought I would pass that tidbit along.     • Love this! Easier than a gas grill!

This product comes apart and is easy and safe to clean. You can use it outside on top of a table or on a kitchen countertop. Read the instructions on how to start. When it's cold, it takes 5 or 10 minutes to get to the full temperature. After that, it cooks like a regular gas grill.

You cannot select a certain temperature, they are preprogrammed. The timer does not go below 19. It took almost an hour to grill boneless chicken breasts.
