Very efficient little icemaker for its size. I was hoping for a few more ice cubes per pass, but considering its size, it actually does well. The first couple of passes it makes rather small ice cubes, but once it gets going, they tend to increase in size and maintain that increased size until it runs out of water, or you stop the machine. They tend to melt rather quickly in drinks, compared to regular cubes that are solid, since these are hollow inside. Overall, they aren't bad, just don't expect them to rate up there with commercially produced ice cubes or ice "slabs." It's easy to use, easy to fill (best with distilled water to avoid the accumulation of minerals inside the working parts.) And the "timer" goes off each time it is done with a pass, only the timer is just the rattle of ice pieces being ejected into the little removable basket that catches the finished pieces. That "noise" is basically the only thing that you hear with the operation. ... show more

I am in LOVE with this ice maker. It’s similar to the small nugget ice you get from certain restaurants. It’s SO ENJOYABLE! It makes ice pretty quick. I just run it for a couple of hours and keep them in the freezer so that I have it on hand when I need it. The fan is to the right and while it’s making ice, it makes a continuous noise but that’s when you know it’s working. The front panel is easy to use.. on/off, add water, ice full. It has a see through top so you can see how full it is. When you are done making ice, there’s a plug at the bottom where you can take off to let the excess water out. It comes with a scooper and extra bags. And it’s the perfect size to leave on your kitchen counter without having it be an eyesore. ... show more

If your reading this you’re probably trying to find a really honest review that assures you that your not throwing money away. I spend days reading and looking at price then positive and negative reviews. Buying this came down to number of reviews and price. Mostly price. I have owned a few countertop ice makes. Some major name brands with 1 year worth of service before their untimely demise. I purchased this for a present/replacement for my wife and myself. We have a 2 person 1 dog household with occasional chance of adult kids and grandchildren. Christmas Day I plugged it in and so far so good. Here’s the shorthand version of the “so fars” This is very well packed. Takes a bit of struggle to get it out of the box. Easy to set up. Plug and then fill and push buttons. Only my wife reads the instructions. I get the verbal instructions and play by play from her. You may have a bit of “grease” on your maker. I had quite a bit on mine out of the box. Easily cleaned with a small workout and bit of soap and water. Perhaps a dozen paper towels. It does make perfect ice though. Also makes plenty without taking alot of time to do it. You have to pay attention so it continues to make it and doesn’t auto shut off when basket fills. Tends to fill on one side. Bit noisy but not terrible. Can’t have tea and talk next to it but it doesn’t affect the entire house. Water is typical fill and refill just depends on how much I e your making. Comes with ice drawstring bags too. In case you want to make it look like fancy store bought ice I guess. Make sure you let it set for at least a half hour when you first unpack and set it up. Tells you to do that to let coolant settle. Have used it almost every other day without incident so far. It’s not huge so fairly easy to find a spot to set it. Could store in a cabinet if you need it out of the way. Hoping this thing lasts because it’s a real ice making machine. Will update this if it quits. Hopefully I won’t need to update. ... show more

We love this ice maker. It produces what I could call hospital or chik fil-a style ice. The nice small, chewable nuggets of ice. Operation is super simple. Pour in the water and turn it on. Within 3 minutes we had ice being made. After about 15 minutes of making ice you have to either move the ice around or empty the hopper. If you move the ice, that will buy you another 10 minutes before you will have to empty the hopper into a bin and put it in the freezer. Now when you freeze the ice, it all freezes together. So make sure you have a metal ice scoop, ice pick, or old knife to break it apart. Once you break it apart it will stay that way until you add freshly made ice. While it is not whisper quiet, it is not loud either. Does it make some noise...yes. Is is distracting? No. It just background noise. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this ice maker. The media could not be loaded. Size is nice. That's were it all stops. We bought this a month ago... the first one broke moments after it made ice. Sounded like something jingling inside from shipping. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and exchanged it for another one. This one-- same jangle came after we moved it from one counter to the other. This machine is the NONMOVABLE kind of ice maker I guess... once its moved off the manufacturing line it will never work well again... Do yourself a favor... put out a couple bucks more, rearrange your countertop to fit a bigger one, and buy the nicer machines on amazon that actually work. The ice barely is enough for two people when the basket is full... it takes forever to fill it... and, when this machine is working, its quiet the first few days, and lordy, lordy, is it loud. We've had a few different brand ice makers... this is by far the worse machine on the market in my opinion. ... show more

I got this for my husband for Christmas. Didn’t really think he would like it, but he loves it! It took about 45 minutes to make the first whole batch. I just put more water in it and hear it making ice already. It’s like crushed ice which he likes. I would definitely recommend this product.
