  • This refrigerator has some nice features but some key negatives to watch out for
I love the glass door you can open without opening entire door. Very convenient. The ice maker works well, however the water is far warmer than my Samsung water. The bottom deli drawer is not as deep / large as most refrigerators. The icemaker in the door uses your door space so you have a very narrow sets of shelves that hold very few small bottles, not anywhere near what my Samsung bottom freezer held. The space is smaller inside as well. There are 2 freezer doors which is nice, BUT the bottom one has NO LIGHT? what? this is a big negative. All in all i wish i had known the bads before i purchased. Hopefully this has no issues and i don't regret buying it. It is a beautiful looking fridge! ... show more

  • New LG Appliance Kitchen…Complete garbage for the money.
Lets start with the refrigerator. Right off we notice the water dispensing is painfully slow. Of course we had the water line and pressure checked. My daughter commented right away, “Is something wrong with this water dispenser, the one at Grandmas house (Samsung) is twice as fast!” LG came out, no solution, you're stuck with it. That is after you make it through the maze of obstacles, just short of supplying a dna sample, to get LG to warranty service a product less than a six months old. Onto the craft ice maker, once again complete garbage! It made the round cubes for all of about 5 months. Now we get half circle ice cubes or 1/4 size fragments on a regular basis. Unit will no longer make near a normal round craft cube. So bye to that costly upgrade also. At least we have the regular ice maker for NOW. The main doors are also flimsy, let one normally sail shut and the other door will bounce open and shut from very little force. The Range grill tops split from light pots and pans, not heavier cast iron. LG replaced the grate (1 of 3) for a whopping $100.00, as we gave up trying to prove or appliances were less than a year old. The LG dishwasher was missing a small plastic part, so I paid $25 more to get that fixed. The LG Microwave is the only thing that hasnt broken, and its the cheapest. Buyer beware of LG quality or lack therof. Don’t let the price of a 3K+ refrigerator make you think you are going to get QUALITY at all. At this point we are just happy the fridge can refrigerate. Everything else we paid for has been a write off. ... show more

  • A great Fridge, but has some terrible drawbacks
I love most of what this refrigerator has to offer, like the craft ice, the French doors, the fridge/freezer shelf and the room is great. However, where it falls down are thing that could have been easily fixed with the design. 1. The door I’ve dispenser won’t dispense ice from the left door when you open the right door. So when you go to get your drink, and haven’t finished filling up your cup with ice, which is slow to dispense anyway, you have to close the door again and start the slow dispensing process again. Very annoying. There is no fox for this , according to LG support. 2. The craft ice is wonderful, but you have to manually turn on the process to make either 3 or 6 of the ice balls. I’m not sure what the difference between the two is, but you should have the option to have it make what you need, whether it be 3, 6, 10, 20, etc. 3. The doors close on you when you open them, but don’t close all the way. Then they will chime at you until you close them. Also ver annoying. Stay open or close all the way. Either would be better than this. 4. I have two teenage boys, who drink a lot of milk, juice, soda, etc. there is no place to put a lot of drinks in this fridge. You can fit maybe two soda bottles in it, and that’s it. The right door has some room too, but just not enough if you keep a lot of tall drinks. More room should be available to keep more drinks. So overall, I can live with this fridge but definitely wouldn’t buy an LG again unless they were do do a much better job on their design. ... show more

  • Worst Refrigerator Ever! Do not buy an LG.
I purchased my LG bottom freezer refrigerator in February 2017. (Note: it is not yet 3 years old.) I absolutely love the refrigerator's features: The 3 drawers in the bottom freezer, the ice/water dispenser and maker in the door, the large, wide door shelves, the separate crisper drawer. (BTW, I still love their design.) The problems with this refrigerator began 2 years after purchasing it. Since then, this less-than-3-year-old refrigerator has completely stopped cooling 3 separate times. We have replaced all the parts in the entire cooling system: the compressor, the evaporator, the filter dryer, and a service valve. It has cost us many hundreds of dollars in labor costs, parts, and food loss. It just broke on us for the last time. We are chucking this lemon and buying a new "Not-LG" refrigerator. If you look online, you will see a class action suit against LG due to their cooling system "issues." LG has known that the design of their refrigerator cooling system is faulty, and they have continued to sell them without addressing their design problems. Once the first year of use is behind you, you must pay for these repairs. In my opinion, LG does not deserve your business. More importantly, you DO NOT WANT an LG! No one wants this much malfunction and trouble. ... show more

  • Not Reliable!
NOT RECOMMENDED! My LG is less than 3 years old and has died twice already spoiling all of our food! I have never had so many problems with other brands at least within the first 8 years. On my LG, the evaporator fan motor has failed twice now. The first sign of motor failure is water dispenser freezes and stops working. Then, water will pool on your floor because of the ice melt...kinda like an oxymoron! When the fan dies, the cold air stops circulating. This results in half of the fridge getting hot and the lower half is frozen. If you do buy an LG, you must also have a second backup fridge. Better yet, avoid this brand and get a better fridge! Other issues that I have with this fridge is the window-door light flashes all the time and looks like a scary exorcism at night. It also makes a funny knocking noise when running. All-in-all... very disappointed with LG! ... show more
