I wanted a cold air intake for my 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500. I heard that cold air intakes not only make the vehicle sound more tough kind of give it a rumble sound and also improve the gas mileage. It did both for me, I did not have it on my vehicle very long before I sold it however, it stayed on my vehicle when I did sell it. I would highly recommend this product. It was easy to install and also gave engine compartment a much cooler look than what the stock intake for these vehicles. I’m not sure if it fits any other years but I do know that it fits the 2013 Chevy Silverado helps with gas mileage gives it a better sound and also makes the engine compartment look much better. ... show more

    • Unleash the power and ditch the plastic OEM intake!
This is the second Spectre Cold Air Intake I have purchased. First one was on a 2005 GMC Yukon and this one was on a 2013 Chevy Suburban. I just bought the Suburban and it felt like it had significantly less power than my 05. I noticed the 2013 has a mess of plastic crap for the air intake. I followed the instructions, which are ok, and had it installed in less than an hour. My biggest complaint is the 45 degree rubber piece you attach to the intake. The clamp is larger than the amount of rubber you are covering it with, so you need to make sure the seal is tight. After I I stalled it I decided to take it on the road. Wow! It's like someone just bolted on 30+ HP. Prior to installing, there was no way you could spin the tires on drive payment. Now, they slip slightly and you can feel the power. Next on the list is dual exhaust, which will help a little as well. The quality of the product is good. I've had my other one for 4 years and cleaned the filter once. Don't buy this for gas mileage, because it must likely won't make it any better, but it will give you the power you want. ... show more

I just installed today. First off, throw away the printed instructions and go to YouTube, much better. The quality is ok, not great. K & N are higher quality but I got the Spectre for about $200 less and honestly, how heavy duty does it need to be? The OEM CAI was nothing to write home about in the first place! Installation took about an hour and everything fit like it was supposed to. The intake tube was slightly dinged up around the flange but not too bad. Overall pretty easy. I took my 2011 Silverado LT 5.3 for a spin afterwards and was impressed with throttle response and mid range growl. Hopefully it improves my mpg a little too. Hey all - First off, I AM a car guy so when I say that this was a very easy install, That might be bias. However, This was a very easy install. Now I am sure you have done some googling as to what is the best air intake for you and I can stop you here. This is not the "best bang for your buck". This is the best period. I've increased so far 1mpg (according to my display) so it will pay for itself in roughly 2 years based on that (Saying it is done climbing up in MPG). Additionally, It's made a much deeper throatier sound (Which is to be expected) But man, This is a massive difference in both engine sound and exhaust sound. Pros: very easy install better MPG better sound more horse power (Noticeable on my 2010 silverado 4.8) Cons: None so far ... show more

I love this! I broke a piece off my stock air intake and was going to be expensive replacement. Found this and LOVE it! Great price and works as advertised. Easy installation. It give me more a little more horsepower and DOES NOT lower my MPG as some people claim. It does add a "little" more noise when you press the gas as there are no air baffles to absorb the sound. Makes me feel like a kid again! ;) ... show more

    • Tried a different CAI
I have used several K&N kits in the past, but thought I would try this since it was MUCH cheaper. I guess you get what you pay for, the fit isn't all that great. I especially didn't like the boot that the filter connects to, it is loose when installed, I will work up a fix for that. As for performance, in 150 miles of driving so far, it seems okay, I have only noticed a slight increase in fuel mileage, but I didn't expect much either, none of them give what they claim. Pretty standard. It does look good though. ... show more
