  • Upgrading from a 50GPD system to this. Results are AMAZING!
PROS: IT WORKS! I can already see an amazing difference from my old 50gpd system that I had before this. LESS WASTE WATER!(Using the 1:1-1 gallon of pure water for 1 gallon of waste water) It seemed that with my old system, for every 1 gallon of pure water I'd get about 3 to 4 gallons of waste water, which technically wouldn't be wasted as I set my system up to save the waste water in a container and then later I'd use it to water ornemental plants and trees that didn't seem to mind the increased PPM. I use the water from a reverse osmosis system to give plants in my vegatable container garden (can't grow plants directly in the ground or in raised beds on the ground because of leech lines from the septic system on either side of the property. Small urban yard) The city water here is absolutely terrible. Over 1000 PPM. Which had a noticeable effect on my vegetable plants in the beginning. I got a water tester pen on amazon and saw what the problem was and bought a reasonable and within my budget at the time R/O system, and after making some pure water, within weeks I saw my plants were thriving. The 50gpd system though took so long to make enough product to water what plants I did have, and I could see that if I wanted to expand my container garden, I'd definitely need a better system. That is when I started saving up for a better system to fit my needs Don't get me wrong, the 50gpd system still works, though I did need to purchase a permeate pump which did help lessen the waste water. It brought my water down from over 1000 PPM to less than 20 PPM, even after almost 2 years it was still was doing a great job at that I searched on amazon and bookmarked the choices I had within my new budget and after looking through the reviews and researching the details of each system, weighing the pros and cons(only con I would count would be the waste water and the price of replacement parts), I decided on this one, and I'm glad I did What would normally take me almost 2 days to get close to fill my 55 gallons reservoir with the 50gpd old system, now only takes 1 day with the 150gpd system, measure the time from sunrise to sunset, and so much less waste water. I am thrilled with those results To produce 5 gallons of pure water takes about 40 to 60 minutes with a psi of close to 80, and when using the 1:1 flow restrictor, the waste water is also only about 5 gallons Now I can't speak for how long it will keep up at keeping down the PPM to a reasonable level, especially considering I'm using the 1:1 flow restrictor, which they do warn when using the 1:1 flow restrictor might degrade the system at a faster pace than if you were to using the 1:2 flow restictor (RO membranes don't last forever and their lifespan depends the quality of the water you're running through it), but that is consider typical wear and tear of any reverse osmosis system, so you really can't consider that I con when looking at the waters level of PPM I'm using the system with CONS: None...yet. But I'm hopeful that there will be none, and that is exempting normal wear and tear I would recommend this system to someone who is considering a reverse osmosis system for gardening purposes. EXCELLENT! ... show more

  • RO filter
I had to buy the carbon filter upgrade separately, and that's ok. Filter works with minimum 40psi, best with 65psi, and max 100psi. My house has barely 40psi, so I bought the separate booster pump... The project quickly got more expensive then expected. Once installed with the 1:1 tube, and the pump to about 75psi, it fills about 5 gallons in 30 minutes. My tap water isn't horrible (about 50ppm and 8pH), and this brought it to about 3ppm and 7pH. I like the membrane bypass to help clean that part easily, and it's easily upgradeable if I want to increase my output to the 300. ... show more

  • Works for my situation
Very good product company is based out of Colorado. Note If you were using for heavy watering on say an indoor garden this is a 12 GPH (gallons per hour) and it does take a little over an hour for 12 gallons of water. This system is more for fresh drinking water for an under the sink system. PH tested water well below 6.0 Straight out the Foster upper round 9 PH. Parts per million in my area is god awful has dropped my PPM down to 75ppm from round 110ppm South East New Mexico very hard water and lots of minerals. I will buy the system again but a higher gallon per minute system (Gpm) ... show more

  • Quality RO filters
I love my new RO filters. I use the RO water for my hydroponic garden. The source water, city water, has high disolved solids, calcium, magnesium and chlorine, around 350-400 or so TDS. The RO filters remove most, if not all dissolved solids, down to about 10-15. My gardening with RO has increased my garden quality and yields. I recommend. ... show more

  • It’s Affordable, It works, It’s OK
Just got it, it works and it’s affordable. It leaks for me when connected to the outside hose but nothing major. I had to rotate the RO membrane container to get better water flow.
