    • The trick is the hole size IMO

Tested these small 1" bulkheads and they work perfectly in 5 gallon buckets. I was slightly concerned after reading some of the reviews about leakage, but that turned out to be not a problem for me. I think the issue others are having may be the hole size. I bored an 1-1/2" test hole but noticed there was too much play after placing the bulkhead in the newly created hole. I changed to an 1-1/4" and the fit is perfect. Actually, the hole is slightly small for this bulkhead, but after using a debur tool the hole is perfect. In fact it is still tight on the bulkhead but just press the thread through the hole, hand tighten the nut on the threads and you have a perfect connection. No pipe tape (common for me on 2" bulkheads), no tools to tighten (also common for me), and no leakage. Good luck. ... show more

For anyone interested, for the 1 inch adapter you'll need a 1-1/4 inch hole saw, or a step bit, google it, Deburr the hole with a tool, again, google it. For the tubing, you'll need a 1 inch inner diameter 'ID'!!! OD is the outside diameter...1-1/4"OD.. I couldn't find this exact tubing, in black, at my local garden center, I had to order it. There are conveniently threads on the back side of the bulkhead that is meant for a standard garden hose fitting, this on the other hand they have at my local garden center, HD. An adapter from standard 3/4 inch garden hose to a 1/2 barbed tubing. Hopefully this helps anyone confused, this is a quality product people just don't know how to install it properly. ... show more

I've used other brands when trying to tighten down the lock washer to the flow table and it would just pop off the threads but not this brand

The product itself is not bad the just need to have 2 rubber seals instead of 1 which causes you to take seal from 1 of the others and makes it unable to use!

These work just fine. I quickly learned you do need to be cautious and ensure you do not overtighten. They will strip pretty easily. I ruined 4 this way. Once I just snugged them up, they worked perfectly. No leaks whatsoever with a single gasket that came with it. If you order some extra gaskets you can use one on top and bottom if you strip one out. It let me snug it up enough so that it was tight and did not leak. 4 stars instead of 5 because they do strip easily. If they would include a few extra gaskets in each package of 12, I'd give them a good solid 5 star. ... show more
